TRAFFIC ALERT: Road closures, traffic delays in East Texas

TYLER, Texas (KETK) — As East Texas battles the storms, some roads have been shut down due to flooding, damages or car crashes.
LIST: East Texas school districts announce closings, delays due to severe weather
KETK has compiled the following list of road closures:
Kilgore: Highway 135 and Highway 31 are shut down for power lines across the roadway. People are asked to find alternative routes.
Longview: As of 8:40 a.m. the following roads are closed or flooded according to the City of Longview:
Green/Nelson is flooded
Tree down in 1400 block of Pine Tree
Green Street overpass flooded
S. Spur/ W. South St is flooded
200 block of Hollybrook is flooded
High Street overpass is flooded
Reel/Buccaneer is flooded
Tree down at the Airline/Hollybrook intersections
Lights out at MLK/Birdsong
Harrison County: As of 9:20 a.m. the following roads are closed due to damage:
FM 1997 @ Old Lee Island Rd. has a tree on powerline.
Hwy 80@ Pumpkin Center Rd. has a tree in the roadway.
Interstate 20 @ 602MM has a tree down on shoulder of roadway.
FM 1793 has a tree in roadway.
Smith County: Smith County Emergency Services District 2 is on the scene of several fallen trees blocking the roadway to Owens Elementary on County Road 168. They remind residents not to drive over power lines and turn around if necessary.
Tyler: A power line was down at the intersection of Old Jacksonville and Loop 323 near the old Red Lobster. According to officials, a car got tangled into the power line causing the pole to come down. Oncor is on the way to the scene to assess the situation.
Rice Road is closed.
Arp: According to Arp ISD, a tree is down on CR 246 north of the high school and junior high completely blocking the road.
Wills Point: The City of Wills Point said Fourth and Fifth streets are closed.

A culvert washout damaged the structure under the road because of heavy rains. The road will remain closed until the pipes come in and can be replaced. SMITH COUNTY, Texas (KETK) — Smith County firefighters rescued a dog that was stuck in a storm drain on Monday. Texarkana K9 helps capture escaped inmate in woods, officials say Smith County firefighters responded to a call from a neighbor who said they heard a dog in the storm drain, according to Smith County Emergency Services District 2 Spokesperson Nikki Simmons. Firefighters dove into multiple storm drains before they found the dog. Simmons described the animal as a larger dog that was very skittish, which prompted rescuers to place themselves at each end of the drain to 'coax' the dog into going toward one of the firefighters. First Baptist Church of Timpson damaged during severe weather

TIMPSON, Texas (KETK) – The First Baptist Church in Timpson had much of its brick facade blown off by severe weather moving through the area on Sunday. Interactive Radar In photos submitted to KETK by a Timpson resident, bricks can be seen strewn around on the ground in front of the church. The bricks also fell on top of the church's awning that used to be over their front door but was crushed by the bricks. Sunday was the day of Pentecost and the church had a service in the morning before a severe storm came through the area at around 5 p.m. According to the church's Facebook, they were planning to start their vacation bible school on Monday. Shelby County was under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 7:45 p.m. and is currently under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 9 p.m. on Sunday night.
