BTS' Jin to Tom Cruise: Do you know BTS?

Yahoo21-05-2025

21 May - BTS' Jin has finally released the interview he had with Tom Cruise to promote the Hollywood icon's latest film, "Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning".
On 20 May, the singer posted the "Run Jin" latest episode on Bangtan TV Youtube Channel, where he sat down with Cruise and started his question with "Do you know BTS?" and got starstruck when the actor responded that he knows them.
"Congratulations for your band, your career, and what you created... It's very impressive. I'm a big fan and I'm very happy to be here, to be on your show right now," said Cruise.
Jin admitted that it was a significant moment for him to sit down with Cruise, seeing that the first film he watched as he turned 15 and was able to watch age-restricted movies was "Mission: Impossible".
Cruise also shared many things on the interview, including the challenging stunts, saying, "The stuff that you're seeing with the wing-walking had never been done before. I didn't know physically what it would take. Within 5 minutes, it was like the hardest weight workout you've ever done ever."
"I really had to improve my power to be able to do it, and the wind is so hard that when you step out of the cockpit it hits you so hard that it's hard to breathe... It's going so fast. The type of training I had to do, it surprised me. I had to change my whole training regime. It was definitely the most challenging action I've ever done," he added.
Following the interview, Jin was sent to Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi on a mission to "deactivate the bomb", where he completed four missions and succeeded after his second try.

Brad Pitt Reveals His 1 Condition for Doing a Tom Cruise Movie

Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt haven't shared the silver screen since their 1994 film "Interview with the Vampire." However, it's possible they join forces for another collaboration. During a presentation at CinemaCon in April, Cruise raved about Pitt's upcoming film, "F1." Not only did he say he'll be there opening weekend to watch it, he revealed that he and Pitt used to race go-karts. "Brad's got a new movie 'F1' with Jerry Bruckheimer and Joe Kosinski. I can't wait to see that this summer. I'll be there opening weekend. It'll be awesome," Cruise said. "It's great to see Brad driving. He's a very good driver. Believe me, I've raced against him. When we were doing 'Interview with the Vampire,' we'd go and race go-karts. We'd literally finish and go drive go-karts all night." While at the Mexico City premiere for "F1" on Monday, Pitt responded to Cruise's encouraging words. "He's sweet," Pitt said. "We did have our go-kart days in the early 90s." Pitt then made it known that he's more than willing to work with Cruise again under one condition. The "F1" actor refuses to do any wild stunts that we've seen Cruise perform over the past few years. "Well, I'm not gonna hang my ass off airplanes and [expletive] like that," Pitt told E! News. "So when he does something again that's on the ground. Cruise left moviegoers speechless during "Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning" when he jumped from one plane onto another. If that wasn't crazy enough, the very next stunt featured him free-falling with a burning parachute. He actually did that stunt 19 times, according to "The Final Reckoning" director Christopher McQuarrie. If Cruise wants to work with Pitt again, he'll have to tone down the death-defying stunts. "Piracy Is Piracy": Disney Sues Midjourney for Massive Copyright Violation

Disney and NBCUniversal — a pair of media behemoths behind franchises ranging from "Star Wars" and "Toy Story" to "Minions" and "Shrek" — are suing AI company Midjourney, accusing it of enabling copyright infringement on a massive scale through its AI image generator tech. In the lawsuit, which was filed in a California district court today, the two Hollywood juggernauts accused the firm of ignoring its previous requests to stop violating their intellectual property rights. "Midjourney is the quintessential copyright free-rider and a bottomless pit of plagiarism," the scathing complaint reads, as quoted by the Wall Street Journal. It's a major escalation in the fight between copyright holders and AI firms, a battle that has been brewing for years. Per Axios, it's the "first legal action that major Hollywood studios have taken against a generative AI company." And it's not just the use of image generators; generative AI writ large has triggered a barrage of lawsuits, with media companies accusing the likes of OpenAI and Google of training their large language models on their materials without fair compensation. Those disputes have turned into a major pain point for the AI industry, despite surging enthusiasm for the tech. Considering the sheer size of both Disney and Universal — Disney is the third largest media company by market cap in the world — Midjourney could soon be in a world of hurt. Disney, in particular, has a long track record of closely guarding its enormous cache of intellectual property. "Our world-class IP is built on decades of financial investment, creativity and innovation—investments only made possible by the incentives embodied in copyright law that give creators the exclusive right to profit from their works," said Disney's chief legal compliance officer, Horacio Gutierrez, in a statement. "We are bullish on the promise of AI technology and optimistic about how it can be used responsibly as a tool to further human creativity," he added. "But piracy is piracy, and the fact that it's done by an AI company does not make it any less infringing." The lawsuit explained in an example how Midjourney users could easily request a picture of the Disney-owned "Star Wars" character Darth Vader in a "particular setting or doing a particular action," and the AI "obliges by generating and displaying a high-quality, downloadable image." That kind of loose approach to copyright has been an open secret for quite some time. In January 2024, noted AI critic Gary Marcus and film industry concept artist Reid Southen warned in a piece for IEEE Spectrum that tools like Midjourney and OpenAI's DALL-E3 could land them in a "copyright minefield." The pair found that it was "easy to generate many plagiaristic outputs, with brief prompts related to commercial films," including well-known Marvel superheroes, Nintendo's Super Mario, and Disney's Darth Vader. Disney and Universal are framing their legal action as a way to "protect the hard work of all the artists whose work entertains and inspires us," said NBCU executive VP and general of counsel Kim Harris in the statement. Given the lack of a clear legal precedent, it'll be fascinating to watch the lawsuit unfold over what's likely to turn into a years-long courtroom battle. Kate Beckinsale Sues 'Canary Black 'Producers for Continuing to Expose Her to 'Dangerous and Unsafe Conditions' After Suffering an Injury on Set

Kate Beckinsale starred in the Amazon thriller, Canary Black, in October 2024, which began production in 2022 The actress alleges in a new complaint that the film's producers exposed her to "dangerous and unsafe conditions" Beckinsale initially filed a complaint as Jane Doe in December 2024, before amending the complaint and going public with her name in May 2025Kate Beckinsale is suing the Canary Black producers after allegedly being exposed to "dangerous and unsafe conditions,' according to a complaint obtained by PEOPLE. The 51-year-old actress starred in the crime film in 2024, which was released on Oct. 3. Over seven months later, the actress is accusing the film's production company, Anton Entertainment Media Services, Inc., and its employees, including producer John Zois, of negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress and battery. Puck was the first to report the news. Beckinsale initially filed against the producers in December 2024 as 'Jane Doe.' However, she issued an amended complaint on Wednesday, May 21, including communications with the defendants and more details of her on-set injury. Beckinsale first suffered a complex meniscus tear in her left knee while filming in December 2022. She then needed surgery, which subsequently paused the production for months. Before she returned to set, she claims her orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Jason Snibbe, said she should not be asked to perform stunts that involved running, jumping, harness suspension, squatting or kicking, per the complaint. However, Dr. Snibbe's requests were allegedly ignored. Beckinsale's complaint claims that she suffered further aggravation of the knee injury as her doctor's orders were repeatedly ignored and she was allegedly coerced into performing "unsafe action sequences." In the newly amended complaint, Beckinsale allegedly suffered a 'significant trauma' to her knee after she was exposed to "dangerous and unsafe conditions" on the Canary Black set. "Ms. Beckinsale and her team repeatedly raised red flags regarding unsafe conditions on and off set to Defendants, including long, dangerous set days, often lasting fifteen hours, inadequate equipment and medical personnel to help manage the high physical workload and recover from the exertion off set, and failure to adequately inform Ms. Beckinsale of what stunts she was expected to perform until often the moment she had to perform it,' the complaint read. The actress also alleges that although she raised her concerns repeatedly, the producers put her " in harm's way" after they "continued to recklessly and intentionally forge ahead with unsafe filming conditions, forgoing safety to maintain profit margins." Along with several reach-outs from Beckinsale's team about their concerns with the set, her agent, Shani Rosenzweig, allegedly emailed Zois, saying, "No one is actually taking real action to put a plan in place to fix this situation so it never happens again… [Ms. Beckinsale] keeps showing up to set for her call time and everyone around her has been made aware it's going to be a 15 hour [or more] day except for her.' Rosenzweig then demanded immediate action to address the unsafe conditions. "If you're trying to kill a person, you're doing a great job,' she wrote to Zois, after asking him to explain his plans to remedy the situation. The complaint alleges Zois responded and agreed to shorten the actress' 'unsustainable' work days, saying, "I don't know what else to say other than you're right.' Despite Zois' response, Beckinsale's attorneys alleged she still worked 15-hour days, was tasked to 'perform dangerous action sequences, without pre-clearing or pre-training,' and the "set conditions continued to be dangerous.' As a result of the alleged negligence and "conscious and reckless decisions, Ms. Beckinsale suffered further injury, including aggravation and exacerbation of her existing injuries, which was entirely avoidable," per the complaint.
