GARETH SOUTHGATE'S bid to become Poland boss has been rejected, claims Polish FA chief Cezary Kulesza.
Sensational reports this week alleged that Southgate, 54, had applied to become the new Poland manager following Michal Probierz's resignation.

Probierz left the role following a bust-up with star man Robert Lewandowski.
Southgate, who has been unemployed since leaving his Three Lions post following Euro 2024, surprisingly emerged as a contender for the role.
But according to Kulesza, the former England boss has been overlooked due to his reluctance to guarantee success.
Speaking to Polish paper Przeglad Sportowy, Kulesza said of Southgate: "We have received an offer to hire him.

"But we must remember one basic thing: no foreign coach will give us a guarantee that we will qualify for the World Cup.
"If he gave us such a guarantee, I would hire him immediately."
Southgate left his role as England manager just two days after the Three Lions' 2-1 defeat to Spain in the Euro 2024 final.
He said at the time: "It's time for change, and for a new chapter."

The former England boss has since been knighted, but has not yet returned to the dugout.

Poland, meanwhile, are targeting Maciej Skorza.
The 53-year-old previously worked as Pawel Janas' assistant with the national team, and has coached in the Polish top flight.
Skorza is currently boss of Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds, who narrowly lost 2-1 to Inter Milan at the Club World Cup last night.
Kulesza is keen on making a domestic appointment, following the disastrous 10-month reign of former Portugal and Greece manager Fernando Santos.
The Polish FA Chief said: "Fernando Santos is a perfect example.
"A successful coach, a big name, everyone applauded, and the verification was surprising and painful for all of us."
Santos, 70, lasted just six games in 2023, with defeats against Moldova, Albania and Czechia sealing his fate.
The veteran's stodgy football and reluctance to attend Polish league matches saw him axed.

Harry Brook builds on Ollie Pope century as England chip away at India lead

Harry Brook took over from centurion Ollie Pope as England continued to chip away at India's lead on day three of the first Rothesay Test at Headingley. Pope was an early casualty in the morning session, falling for 106 in the third over, but Brook hit a flowing 57 not out to keep the hosts on the front foot at his home ground. He shared fifty stands with Ben Stokes and Jamie Smith as England reached 327 for five – 144 behind India's first-innings mark. Brook's knock would have been particularly frustrating for Jasprit Bumrah, who had him caught on nought in the last over on Saturday evening only to be called for a no-ball. Brook roared out of the blocks, ending Prasidh Krishna's first over of the day with a cut for four and a thrash for six over midwicket. While he was just getting started, Pope was coming to the end of his work. Having put so much into his hundred in tricky conditions on Saturday, he added just six more before an innocuous steer at Krishna settled in Rishabh Pant's gloves. Brook showed his willingness to pick up the baton at the start of the next over, taking a couple of steps down the pitch and thrashing the Bumrah for four through cover. Few batters have attempted to play the master seamer with such freedom and even fewer have lived to tell the tale. England's progress steadied after Stokes arrived at the crease, the skipper solid as he left Brook to apply the occasional moment of brute force, including one searing drive through extra cover off Mohammed Siraj. Stokes' demise for 20 was more timid, pushing away from his body at Siraj and nicking through to the keeper. He threw his head backwards in frustration and tossed his bat in the air, sensing an opportunity missed. Shardul Thakur thought he had nipped out another when Jamie Smith was given lbw on nine but DRS showed the ball sliding down leg and the all-rounder was milked for 38 in six overs. Brook was spared on 46 when an edge off the spin of Ravindra Jadeja popped out of Pant's gloves, but the runs continued to come as England finished with 118 for two from the session.

Kevin De Bruyne tells Antonio Conte to sign England star in blow to Man Utd

Kevin De Bruyne has told Antonio Conte to bring his former Manchester City teammate Jack Grealish to Napoli in a potential transfer blow to Manchester United. De Bruyne's move to Serie A champions Napoli was confirmed earlier this month following the Belgian's exit from Manchester City. The 33-year-old established himself as one of the greatest midfielders in Premier League history during his decade-long spell at the Etihad Stadium. Despite already signing Man City legend De Bruyne, Napoli have expressed interest in signing a number of other Premier League stars this summer. Conte is keen to strengthen his squad to boost Napoli's chances of defending the Serie A title and competing in the Champions League. Manchester City's Grealish and Manchester United's Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho have all emerged as targets for the Italian club. Sancho and Garnacho are believed to be keen on move to Naples after being deemed surplus to requirements by Old Trafford boss Ruben Amorim. Ex-Chelsea loanee Sancho was hoping to earn a permanent move to Stamford Bridge but the Blues instead paid £5m in compensation to send him back to United. Garnacho has also been linked with Chelsea after being put up for sale by decision-makers at Manchester United. But Napoli are only expected to sign one of Sancho, Garnacho or Grealish and De Bruyne is making the case for his old teammate. According to The Sun, Conte has been asking De Bruyne about Grealish's credentials and has received a glowing reference from the Belgium international. Man City spent a record-breaking £100m to sign Grealish from Aston Villa in 2021 but the 29-year-old is expected to leave following a frustrating 2024-25 campaign. Grealish struggled for game-time under Pep Guardiola and was then left out of Manchester City's Club World Cup squad. Tottenham are believed to be the current favourites to sign Grealish but De Bruyne is doing everything he can to bring him to Naples. Grealish accepts a move is necessary to revive his career and boost his chances of being included in Thomas Tuchel's England squad for next summer's World Cup. Asked about Grealish's future at the Etihad Stadium last week, Guardiola said: 'He had a conversation with the club and [we] decided [what was for] the best. 'Jack is an exceptional player. The only reason why he didn't play last season is of course my decision. We decide that he has to play. The club was honest, he was honest. 'Incredible love and respect [for him] and we decide the best is to stay [behind] and have a place [at home] that he can feel like he can come back to be the player like he was in the year of the treble or all his career in Aston Villa. More Trending 'Without him it would have been more difficult in the year of the treble [2022-2023]. The fact is in the last two seasons he didn't play much minutes. 'He has to come back to play and have the butterflies in his stomach that he can play every three days and show again the quality he has.' Asked if believed Grealish's future lied away from Man City, Guardiola added: 'I don't know. 'Now we decide don't come here and what happens I don't know in the end. If we don't find [another solution], he's a player for Man City and he will be back.' For more stories like this, check our sport page. Northern Ireland thrower Neil Duff, the WDF world champion in 2022, followed up that criticism by writing online in a sarcastic tone: 'How's England doing?' His home country, led by Josh Rock and Daryl Gurney, ended up winning the trophy in Frankfurt. These latest comments riled Littler, 18, who responded on his Instagram Story with the caption 'How's Neil Duff doing?' followed with a smiley face emoji. The Nuke, the world No.2, is flying to New York this week as he takes part in the two-day US Darts Masters, which starts on Friday at The Theater at Madison Square Garden. Humphries also took to social media to criticise Priestley's take.
