Chandigarh-Lucknow IndiGo Flight Cancelled After Facing Technical Snag
This comes only a few days after an IndiGo flight from Guwahati to Chennai was forced to divert to Bengaluru after the pilot issued a 'fuel mayday' call due to insufficient fuel.
A Lucknow-bound IndiGo flight from Chandigarh was cancelled on Sunday after the pilot detected a technical snag during pre-flight checks, reported ANI, citing sources. The passengers of the flight that was scheduled to take off from Chandigarh were deplaned safely.
'The issue was identified prior to departure, and the aircraft did not proceed with takeoff. The affected passengers were either accommodated on alternate flights or offered a full refund," according to the ANI sources.
This comes only a few days after an IndiGo flight from Guwahati to Chennai was forced to divert to Bengaluru after the pilot issued a 'fuel mayday' call due to insufficient fuel in the plane.
The incident reportedly took place on Thursday.
According to ANI sources, the diversion was necessary as Chennai airport was facing heavy air traffic.
'The diversion occurred because of congestion at Chennai airport, which prevented the aircraft from landing there in time. Passengers were on board during the emergency reroute," they said.
The aircraft landed safely at Bengaluru airport at 8:15 PM, where arrangements were made to ensure passengers' comfort during the unscheduled stop.
'During the refuelling process, passengers were provided refreshments, and their baggage was offloaded. Due to Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL), the airline had to arrange for a fresh crew," sources added. The flight resumed its journey and subsequently departed for Chennai at 10:24 PM.

Last Updated: Indian cricketer Nitish Rana says he has been coming to the temple for 2-3 years and that he prayed for his continued success. Indian cricketer Nitish Rana offered prayers at the Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple in Ujjain on Tuesday. The left-handed batter told ANI, 'I have been coming to Mahakal for the last 2-3 years. Whatever I have achieved in the last 2 years, it is only because of Mahakal.. If Mahakal's blessings remain with me, I will continue to progress like this." Shri Mahakaleshwar, one of the twelve revered Jyotirlingas in India, holds a special place in Hindu spirituality. The grandeur of the Mahakaleshwar Temple is beautifully described in the ancient Puranas. #WATCH | Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh: Indian cricketer Nitish Rana offers prayers at Mahakaleshwar Temple. — ANI (@ANI) August 19, 2025 Many Sanskrit poets have eulogised this temple emotively, starting with Kalidasa. Ujjain used to be the central point for the calculation of Indian time, and Mahakala was considered the distinctive presiding deity of Ujjain. In all his splendour, the presiding deity of time, Shiva, reigns eternal in Ujjain. The temple of Mahakaleshwar, with its shikhara soaring into the skies and an imposing facade against the skyline, evokes primordial awe and reverence with its majesty. According to temple traditions, the ritual begins with the opening of Baba Mahakal's doors in the early hours, followed by a holy bath with Panchamrit, a sacred mixture of milk, curd, ghee, sugar, and honey. The deity is then adorned with cannabis and sandalwood before the unique Bhasma Aarti and dhoop-deep Aarti take place, accompanied by the rhythmic beats of drums and the resonating sound of conch shells. People from across the country visit the temple to witness this ritual, believing that attending the Bhasma Aarti brings blessings and fulfilment of wishes.
