On July 22, 2025, the rock star, Ozzy Osbourne, passed away at the age of 76. Later in the evening, at Nissan Stadium, Martin said, 'We'd like to dedicate this whole show to the incredible genius, talent, and character called gift to the world, who was Ozzy Osbourne. We send our love to his family,' according to People.
After playing the heartwrenching ballad, Coldplay's frontman said, 'Ozzy, we love you, wherever you're going."
Many fans said that they could hear the band playing the track during the soundcheck on X.
Osbourne's family gave an official statement after he passed away. 'It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning," they said, before adding, 'He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time."
