When a court is sitting in the open, the press can report on anything that happens, unless there are specific reporting restrictions.
As a principle, we do not remove a defendant's identifying information (such as name, age and address) from court reports. To do so would be set a precedent and damage the foundations of open justice. It could also defame someone innocent, who happens to have the same name.

Former Springdale bank worker accused of fraud, stealing money from customers waives arraignment
SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A former bank worker in Springdale accused of stealing money from customer accounts has waived his arraignment, according to court documents. Christopher Timos, 28, was arrested on July 16 by the Springdale Police Department for one count of financial identity fraud, one count of computer fraud and one count of theft of property. Timos waived his arraignment, according to a filing dated Aug. 5. His arraignment was originally scheduled for Aug. 13. His trial was set for Oct. 13 at 8:30 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse. The Federal Reserve said last month in an order of prohibition that Timos was employed by Arvest Bank in Springdale from November 2020 until his termination on March 21, 2025. Former University of Arkansas professor pleads not guilty to possessing CSAM According to the Federal Reserve, between Dec. 1, 2023, and March 20, 2025, Timos engaged in conduct that violated banking laws and regulations, involving the unauthorized use of customer funds totaling $42,731.28. Under the terms of the Federal Reserve's consent order, Timos is now not allowed to work for or be involved with any bank or financial company unless the Federal Reserve gives special permission. Any violation of this order could lead to civil or criminal penalties, the document said. The order was issued without Timos admitting or denying the allegations but with his consent, avoiding a formal hearing or prolonged litigation, according to the document. Timos is free on a $15,000 bond. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed. Solve the daily Crossword

Oklahoma man sentenced for robbing Siloam Springs restaurant
SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — An Oklahoma man has been sentenced for using a gun to rob Barnett's Dairyette in Siloam Springs, according to court documents. Noah Leffingwell, 21, of Proctor, Oklahoma, pleaded guilty on Aug. 14 to aggravated robbery, three counts of aggravated assault and theft of property. Benton County Circuit Judge Brad Karren accepted the plea agreement, sentencing Leffingwell to 25 years. Case background Leffingwell was arrested after robbing Barnett's Dairyette at gunpoint, according to a probable cause affidavit. Police responded to a May 11 robbery at a Siloam Springs restaurant, where a man had threatened employees with a shotgun. The suspect, later identified as Leffingwell, was seen leaving in a red truck and was stopped and detained by officers. A search of Leffingwell's vehicle turned up a loaded 12-gauge shotgun, several boxes of ammunition, $768 in cash, multiple cell phones, duct tape and a notebook containing handwritten plans. Man charged in 2022 Springdale nightclub shooting deported Security footage provided by the restaurant showed Leffingwell entering the business with a shotgun, chambering a round and pointing the weapon at an employee. According to the affidavit, he demanded money and phones, taking two cell phones and cash from the register. The notebook found in Leffingwell's truck contained detailed instructions on planning and carrying out robberies, including notes about avoiding cameras, law enforcement and witnesses. It listed materials such as duct tape, a shotgun, knives and other tools, along with step-by-step tactics for binding victims and stealing money. During questioning, Leffingwell initially remained silent but later admitted he planned the robbery earlier that day, saying he was 'tired of being broke.' He told police he chose Barnett's Dairyette because he thought it would be an 'easier target.' Court documents show the total value of stolen items was $1,568. Leffingwell initially pleaded not guilty in July 2024. Leffingwell was ordered by the judge to have no contact with the restaurant or its staff. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
