Anil Kapoor, Vidya Balan praise 'Sanam Teri Kasam'
After the re-release's record-breaking success in India, it is hard to keep one's eyes away from the 2016 romantic film, Sanam Teri Kasam. Even Bollywood greats like Anil Kapoor seem to agree.
Commending the re-released film's triumph at the box office, Anil wrote on Instagram Stories on Thursday, "Congratulations to (producer) Deepak Mukut and the entire Sanam Teri Kasam team on its re-release! The film has already won hearts, and its success is truly well-earned. Wishing Harshvardhan Rane, Mawra Hocane, Soham Rockstar Entertainment, (co-producer) Hunar Mukut, and everyone involved even more milestones ahead!"
Mawra, who played the female lead Saru, was quick to take note of Anil's praises. Re-sharing the Story, she replied, "Thank you, Anil Kapoor sir!"
Another Bollywood veteran, Vidya Balan, not only lauded the film's success but also watched it in the theatre. "Enjoyed watching this simple love story in the theatre! Congrats to Mawra Hocane, Harshvardhan Rane, Radhika Rao, Vinay Sapru, Kaleem Khan," Vidya wrote in an Instagram Story on Wednesday.
But that's not all. Someone in particular captivated Vidya's interest as she wrote, "Mawra, you are amazing."
John Abraham was another Bollywood actor to appreciate the film's unexpected success nearly a decade after its original release. He took to Instagram Stories to direct his congratulations to the film's male lead. "Finally, Harshvardhan Rane, you have got your due!" John wrote on Sunday.
"Thank you, my sir! I have learnt patience and working hard with my standards always up and my head always down from you - the OG," replied Harshvardhan via Instagram Stories. Recently, Harshvardhan opened up about his first encounter with John back in 2004, when he had to deliver a helmet to the Pathaan actor's hotel room. In the interview with Zoom, Harshvardhan praised John's humility, and here he is now on the receiving end of the 52-year-old actor's praises.
Another Indian actor to show love to the film was Arjun Rampal. "So so happy, for Harshvardhan Rane, Deepak Mukut, and Hunar Mukut for this. Harshvardhan has been manifesting this since I have known him. This is a true example of 'if you desire something with a pure heart, the universe listens'," Arjun wrote in an Instagram grid post on Sunday.
"Sir, the fact that you notice others' dreams makes you such a sweet human being," commented Harshvardhan. "Indebted, sir!"
Unbridled dedication
Sanam Teri Kasam was re-released earlier in February, around the same time that Mawra tied the knot with now-husband Ameer Gilani. Basking in the wedding glow, she took to Instagram Stories to express her shock at seeing her film's poster on a billboard in Bombay, with the words "Biggest opening for a re-release" stamped on them.
"I cannot believe this!" Mawra wrote. However, this reward has been long overdue, given that she gave the role her everything.
In an interview with FilmyGyan on Tuesday, directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru praised the 32-year-old actor's perseverance through the most challenging parts of filming.
"We gave her a real dead fish that she had to kiss for the song Kheech Meri Photo," Radhika revealed. "She would kiss the fish, then vomit, and then shoot anyway! Her body smelled of fish yet she kept going on. But what a girl. I mean, salute to that artist. If it was anyone else, they would've called for a wrap up."
Radhika also shared that Mawra, who would rush to the vanity to vomit, wouldn't tell anyone how unwell she was feeling until the day was over. "I mean, just watch the song. She put her soul into it. What an actress," Radhika said.

Robyn Lively supports Blake after Justin Baldoni lawsuit dismissal
Robyn Lively publicly supported her sister Blake Lively via Instagram Stories on Tuesday, June 10, after Justin Baldoni's countersuit against Blake was dismissed by Judge Lewis J. Liman. Robyn, 53, shared a throwback photo of the sisters embracing with the caption 'I held you then…' followed by a recent selfie tagged '…Now,' and a hand-holding image with '…And always.' She concluded, 'No one knows you quite like I do, and man am I ever proud of you. I love you sister.' Blake, 37, reposted the support and replied, 'I love you more. Always. Forever. Near or far. Closer together,' adding a heartfelt sticker to her story. The dismissal came after Baldoni, 41, filed a $250 million libel suit against The New York Times, which initially reported sexual harassment allegations made by Blake during the December 2024 press cycle. Though the judge dismissed three defamation and harassment counts, Baldoni may still amend claims related to breach of implied covenant and tortious interference by June 23, 2025. Blake's legal team called the ruling a 'total victory and a complete vindication,' and indicated plans to seek attorneys' fees, treble damages, and punitive relief. Blake herself issued a statement reinforcing her commitment to women's rights, expressing solidarity with other survivors, and encouraging use of resources like the National Network to End Domestic Violence. Insiders close to Blake and husband Ryan Reynolds say the family feels vindicated and relieved, with Blake 'proud that she continued to use her voice.' Baldoni's attorney countered that the case will move forward, citing remaining claims and planned deposition in March 2026. The dismissal marks a pivotal moment in the legal fight, spotlighting sisterly solidarity in Hollywood and underscoring ongoing conversations about accountability and survivors' rights.

Brian Wilson, beach boys co-founder and frontman, passes away at 82
Brian Wilson, the legendary co-founder and frontman of the iconic American rock band The Beach Boys, has passed away at 82. His family confirmed the news on June 11 through an Instagram post, sharing their grief with the world. A photo of the smiling musician on a bench accompanied the statement: "We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved father Brian Wilson has passed away. We are at a loss for words right now. Please respect our privacy at this time as our family is grieving. Love & Mercy." Wilson, born on June 20, 1942, in Inglewood, California, was the eldest of three siblings, with brothers Dennis and Carl Wilson. He was known for his exceptional musical talent from a young age, which led to the formation of The Beach Boys in 1961. Initially named the Pendletones, Wilson and his brothers, along with cousin Mike Love and friend Al Jardine, began their musical journey with hits like "Surfin' U.S.A." and "Surfin' Safari." Wilson was the primary songwriter, co-lead vocalist, and bass guitarist for the band. He helped define the "California sound," with hits like 'Good Vibrations' and the 1966 album Pet Sounds. His visionary approach to music marked a departure from the band's surf-centric themes, establishing his influence on modern pop and rock. Despite his musical success, Wilson struggled with mental health issues, including depression and the pressures of fame. He faced personal challenges, including a difficult relationship with his father, which later led to hearing loss in his right ear. In the 1970s, he retreated from public life, battling drugs, alcohol, and emotional distress. Wilson's comeback began in the 1980s with therapy and a revitalization of his career. He released several solo albums, including Brian Wilson Presents Smile in 2004, a project he had initially abandoned with The Beach Boys in the 1960s. Throughout his career, he received numerous accolades, including Grammy nominations, two wins for his solo work, and induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1988. Wilson leaves behind a legacy that shaped the landscape of American music. He is survived by his children from two marriages and his extended family.

Trace Cyrus slams Billy Ray Cyrus for flying to Italy with Elizabeth Hurley, skipping family funeral
Trace Cyrus, the 36-year-old musician, has publicly lashed out at his father, Billy Ray Cyrus, calling him "evil" and "delusional" in a scathing Instagram post.
