Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei: Iranians Will Never Surrender – Trump's Demands Are 'Vulgar and Unacceptable'; If the U.S. Enters the War, It Will Suffer Greater Harm Than Iran
Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said in an address aired on IRINN TV (Iran) on June 18, 2025, that the Iranian nation stands firm in the face of both an imposed war and an imposed peace and it will not yield to anyone's coercion.
He stated that 'the Zionist enemy' had made a grave mistake and committed a major crime, and it must be punished. Khamenei criticized President Trump for threatening Iran in what he described as vulgar and unacceptable language, demanding that the Iranian people surrender.
Khamenei said that threats have no effect on the Iranian people, who are not a nation that surrenders, and they will never surrender to anyone. He warned that if the United States enters the conflict militarily, it will suffer greater harm than Iran, and its losses will be irreparable.

UN's Guterres urges against expanding Israel-Iran war internationally
Shafaq News/ On Wednesday, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed concern about the potential involvement of the United States in Israeli attacks against Iran. His spokesperson, Stephane Dujarric, told reporters during a briefing, 'The Secretary-General's firm stance is to avoid further internationalization of this conflict.' Meanwhile, Reuters reported that the UN Security Council will convene on Friday to discuss the Israel-Iran war, as three European countries prepare for nuclear talks with Iran. The agency noted that the foreign ministers of Germany, France, and the United Kingdom will meet with their Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi in Geneva on Friday, with support from the United States. Earlier, US President Donald Trump told reporters that he does not rule out strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, including uranium enrichment centers. CNN, citing two informed sources, reported that the US military is preparing for the possibility of receiving presidential authorization to provide in-flight refueling to Israeli warplanes during potential strikes on Iran. The network added that this preparation is among the key reasons for the recent deployment of more than 30 aerial refueling aircraft to the Middle East. According to the sources, the refueling operation would be part of a broader US military involvement if a decision is made to directly participate in the escalation against Iran.

Iran foils Mossad plots, arrests 10 suspected spies amid escalating conflict
Shafaq News/ Iranian authorities announced a series of arrests on Wednesday involving individuals accused of espionage and sabotage on behalf of Israel's Mossad. In the most recent incident, nine women were apprehended while attempting to cross the border into Iraq through the Qasr-e Shirin region. The commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Sarpol-e Zahab said the suspects were caught after being tracked for suspicious movements believed linked to Israeli intelligence. 'The operation was executed following intelligence surveillance of a network connected to Mossad,' he stated. In a separate but closely timed development, Brigadier General Ali Azadi, police chief of Iran's Kurdistan province, confirmed the arrest of a 42-year-old Mossad operative in the northwestern city of Saqqez. Speaking to Tasnim News Agency, Azadi said the suspect had entered the province to gather intelligence and carry out acts of sabotage. Security forces reportedly seized remote detonation devices, explosives, and surveillance equipment from the suspect. The arrests come amid a sharp escalation in the Iran–Israel conflict, now in its sixth day, marked by reciprocal airstrikes and growing internal security crackdowns within Iran. Earlier this week, Iranian police also reported dismantling a separate Israeli-linked spy cell in the Fashafouyeh district of Rey Province, south of Tehran, during two separate raids. Officials claimed the cell was gathering intelligence for Israel and planning sabotage operations.

Muqtada al-Sadr calls for nationwide Friday protests against US and Israeli terrorism
Baghdad ( – Influential Iraqi Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr on Wednesday (June 18, 2025) called for organized, peaceful demonstrations to be held across Iraq after prayers this coming Friday. In a public statement, Al-Sadr urged his followers to protest in the center of each governorate to condemn what he described as 'Zionist and American terrorism, its colonial expansion, and its hostility towards peoples and religions.' He specifically cited 'aggression against Arab and Islamic countries,' including neighboring Iran, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen. The call also serves as a condemnation of the 'violation of our internationally protected Iraqi airspace,' which he said would harm the nation. Invoking the legacy of his father, Al-Sadr reiterated the slogan 'No, no to Israel; no, no to America,' framing the US as the 'primary driver of all wars in the world.' He stressed the demonstrations must be peaceful and called on 'sincere ones' to participate while excluding 'the corrupt.' The call to protest comes amid heightened regional tensions following recent Israeli-Iranian military exchanges.
