Orlando Pirates superstar attracts interest from MLS side!

Orlando Pirates are in the process of revamping their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season with ins and outs. Pirates will be heading off to Spain once again this pre-season and their squad could look very different from 2024. The club have reportedly already signed nine players, which could mean nine new faces from the previous trip. Only one of those players has been announced by the club so far, that being the marquee capture of Sipho Mbule. The midfield wizard joins from Mamelodi Sundowns on a free transfer. Other Pirates signings include Kabelo Kgositsile, Masindi Nemtajela, Nkosikhona Ndaba, Tshepo Mashiloane, Sihle Nduli, Tshepang Moremi , Sinoxolo Kwayiba and Yanela Mbuthuma. The Sea Robbers are set to begin their pre-season on the 7th of July and all of those players are expected to be there. That list features quite a few attackers in Kgositsile, Moremi, Kwayiba and Mbuthuma. That could be a sign that Pirates are revamping their attack or preparing for potential exits. One player that is constantly linked with a move abroad is Relebohile Mofokeng. Earlier on Wednesday, this publication reported that the 20-year-old was the subject of a bold from Israel giants Maccabi Haifa. Maccabi Haifa have reportedly offered Pirates R31 million for Mofokeng's services. They are believed to be battling their rivals Maccabi Tel Aviv for his signature. But now, according to Soccer-Laduma , MLS side FC Cincinnati have also entered the race! 'The race to land the signature of Orlando Pirates sensation Relebohile Mofokeng has intensified, with Major League Soccer (MLS) outfit FC Cincinnati now reported to have entered the fray. However, Mofokeng continues to be a talking point in Israeli sports media as there's a growing list of admirers which now reportedly includes FC Cincinnati. The American club has emerged as a serious contender to lure the South African international to the United States.' Wrote the publication. Where would you rather see Mofokeng playing Pirates fans? In America with FC Cincinnati? Or in Israel with either Maccabi Haifa or Maccabi Tel Aviv? Let us know by clicking on the comment tab. Or by emailing info@ or sending a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1. Euro side bids R31M to Orlando Pirates for Relebohile Mofokeng

Orlando Pirates could be about to have their resolve test with regards to the future of Relebohile Mofokeng per reports. Mofokeng is again the subject of interest from clubs abroad after performing well for Pirates in his third season. That has further heightened the hype around Mofokeng, who was already linked with an exit last season. During the campaign last season, the diminutive attacker even attended trials with English Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers. In the end, nothing seemed to materialise from that situation. But by the end of the campaign, there were more clubs looking to prize him away from Pirates . It was reported that all of Glasgow Rangers, RB Salzburg and even Al Ahly on the continent were interested in Mofokeng. Furthermore, there were talks of a potential deal to Barcelona 'B' that was doing the rounds. But again, nothing official happened and the 20-year-old remained at Pirates for another season. Now according to Soccer-Laduma citing Israeli reports, giants Maccabi Haifa have submitted an offer for Mofokeng. It is believed they have tabled a bid worth R31 million to Pirates for the winger's services. 'The latest update is according to Israeli publication Sport Walla , which also discussed how Maccabi Haifa have submitted an improved offer to Pirates worth around €1.5 million (approx R31 million) for the 20-year-old winger. The publication also notes a condition of retaining a 20% sell-on clause in the deal for Pirates. The Israeli giants are eager to wrap up the transfer, but face stiff competition from domestic rivals Maccabi Tel Aviv, who have matched the financial terms of the proposal and are also pushing to convince both Pirates and Mofokeng to accept their offer.' Wrote the publication. Pirates fans would a move to Maccabi Haifa or Maccabi Tel Aviv be the right one for Mofokeng? Let us know by clicking on the comment tab. Or by emailing info@ or sending a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1. You can also follow @TheSAnews on X and The South African on Facebook for the latest news.

Watch: New Orlando Pirates signing arrives in JHB before unveiling

Orlando Pirates have announced the signing of Sipho Mbule on Tuesday but more players had been signed before him. Pirates are believed to have now signed nine players to their squad following the arrival of Mbule on a free. Others being Kabelo Kgositsile, Masindi Nemtajela, Nkosikhona Ndaba, Tshepo Mashiloane, Sihle Nduli, Tshepang Moremi , Sinoxolo Kwayiba and Yanela Mbuthuma. The Sea Robbers are set to begin their pre-season on the 7th of July and all of those players are expected to be there. But one of those players seems to have already arrived in Johannesburg to familiarise himself with his new surroundings. This as he prepares for an official announcement from Pirates. Striker Mbuthuma was recently captured on camera arriving at the OR Tambo International airport. This as a sign that his move to Pirates has indeed been completed like was widely reported last week. An even bigger sign was the fact that he was not present as Richards Bay FC began pre-season this week. Mbuthuma had been a long-term target for Pirates who were after him since the beginning of last season. It was thought that they made an attempt to sign him during the January transfer window but with no luck. The Sea Robbers have now fended off interest from arch rivals Kaizer Chiefs to win his signature. Watch the short video of his arrival below. The striker comes to Pirates fresh from being involved with Bafana Bafana in the recent international window. Mbuthuma will be competing with other strikers in Evidence Makgopa and Tshegofatso Mabasa. This while there is still a question mark over the futures of Boitumelo Radiopane and Zakhele Lepasa. Pirates fans are you happy with Mbuthuma's arrival? Let us know by clicking on the comment tab. Or by emailing info@ or sending a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1.
