I'm a Travel Writer, and This Flowy Amazon Dress Has Earned Me Compliments Around the World—and It's Only $25

Like many women, I'm a sucker for a dress with pockets. That being said, I have standards; I won't wear just any old potato sack that happens to have built-in pockets. As a travel writer who averages around 10 countries per year, I'll only pack travel dresses that are also stylish, comfortable, versatile, and relatively wrinkle-free.
I know, I know—it's a tall list. But fortunately, expensive is the one thing it doesn't have to be. This best-selling Misfay Spaghetti Strap Tank Dress from Amazon checks all of my boxes. Plus, it's just $25. I purchased it in February for a trip to Costa Rica, and since then, I've worn it everywhere from the islands of the Maldives to South Africa's wine country. In fact, if I were a cartoon character who only ever wore one look, it would probably be this dress. So if you, too, have been searching for a dress you can live in this summer, congratulations: You've just found it!
With nearly 8,500 five-star ratings, the Misfay Spaghetti Strap Tank Dress is featured on Amazon's list of Best Sellers in Women's Swimwear Cover-ups. And that's precisely why I bought it; I was planning a trip to Rio Perdido, Costa Rica's only resort with a thermal river, and I knew I'd need something cute and comfy to throw on in between soaks.
It also won me over because it's a practical rayon and spandex blend. I wanted something I could easily wash (the thermal river has healing mud pots), on top of something that could stretch to accommodate any bloating. In addition to floating, I knew I would be doing a lot of eating!
Besides the fabric, I'm also a big fan of the fit and flow of this dress. Despite not being form-fitting, it's so flattering, I kept getting compliments, both in English and Spanish. And when I wore it on a dolphin sunset cruise at the luxurious InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort, a few of my fellow passengers—all dressed to the nines in name-brand designer dresses—asked me where I got it.
The Misfay Spaghetti Strap Tank Dress is currently available in more than 35 colors and prints at Amazon. I first got it in the eye-catching rainbow tie-dye print. I usually wear it with my OluKai Ohana flip flops and my Sunday Afternoons Havana Hat on sunny afternoons. However, you can easily elevate it with a pair of heels, diamond studs, and a slicked-back updo (I'd recommend the darker shades and patterns for such an occasion). In addition to wearing this dress as a swimsuit cover-up and as a date night dress, I sleep in it, too. Even with the slight bulk of the pockets, it's as soft and comfy as a nightgown.
I also love that it's not clingy, and there's no need to iron it. This tank dress is 'easy to pack in a suitcase because it doesn't get a million wrinkles,' wrote one shopper who owns four different colors and patterns of this dress. It's also breathable—a must for sticky outdoor summer excursions. 'While everyone else around me is complaining about the heat, I am feeling cool as a breeze,' shared another five-star reviewer.
The only disclaimer about this dress that I have to share is this: You'll probably end up purchasing more than one. I certainly did, and judging by the dozens of five-star reviews I read, most shoppers were so satisfied with it that they became repeat purchasers, too.
Of course, if you want to shop around to make sure you find a travel-friendly summer dress that checks all of your boxes, that's understandable. Below are a few more great options from Amazon to consider, starting at $20.

Giorgio Armani Marks His Brand's 50th Year With Multiple Celebrations

Designer Giorgio Armani (Photo by Barbara White Sloan/WWD/Penske Media via Getty Images) It seems 1975 was a good year for design. Several brands, mainly Italian, are celebrating 50th anniversaries in 2025. To wit, Roberto Cavalli, Santoni, John Hardy, and the "King of Fashion" himself, Giorgio Armani, are all marking significant milestones this year. When the Northern Italian-born designer founded his namesake label at 41, he was already well-regarded in the industry, having established himself as a menswear designer at Cerrutti 1881, a freelance fashion designer for brands Allegri, Bagutta, Gibò, and Montedoro, among others, and his early career included roles in sales and as a window dresser at La Rinascente. With the support of friend Sergio Galeotti, he founded Giorgio Armani S.p.A. in Milan on July 24th, 1975. Now at 91, Mr. Armani is still at the helm of his namesake brand with plans to retire in the next year or so. To celebrate the anniversary, the brand has announced an exhibit and pop-up to mark the occasion. The Giorgio Armani Pop-up at the Sunset Beach Hotel in Shelter island. In Milan, the designer will launch the Armani/Archivio project on Saturday, August 30th, during the Venice Film Festival. Armani/Archivo is an interactive digital platform that showcases content curated from a comprehensive cataloging of the Giorgio Armani collections, aiming to preserve the brand's pioneering legacy while serving as a bridge between past and future. In the coming months, the platform will be housed in a physical site just outside of Milan. Additionally, the brand is planning celebrations during the upcoming Milan Fashion Week, also known as MFW, centered on the debut of its Spring 2026 women's collections. On Wednesday, September 24th, Giorgio Armani will open a curated showcase to the public at the Pinacoteca di Brera gallery. It's a first for the 'Brera Art Gallery, the main public gallery regarded as having one of the foremost collections of Italian paintings dating from the 13th to the 20th centuries. It is also the first time they have hosted an exhibition of fashion, featuring over 150 archival Giorgio Armani looks spanning the brand's five decades. Rounding out the week will be the closing show of MFW in the historic Courtyard of Honour at Palazzo Brera, featuring the Giorgio Armani Spring/Summer 2026 Women's Collection alongside select menswear looks from the collection presented in June. Actress Mamie Gummer attends the Giorgio Armani But the brand is busy with some other activations this summer on this side of the Atlantic before the big 50thfete. Coinciding with the same anniversary date, the brand unveiled its first Giorgio Armani Mare pop-up Stateside, featuring the 2025 collection. After launching several iterations in some of the world's most coveted summer destinations such as Porto Cervo, Capri, and Cannes, the coastal lifestyle collection—which includes swimwear, resort wear, linen tailoring, beachside ready accessories, towels, and more—will be the focus of a pop-up at Sunset Beach on Shelter Island. To toast the 10-day ephemeral boutique and the summer collection inspired by easy Amalfi Coast living, the brand hosted a sunset cocktail event that brought the Mediterranean lifestyle to the Hamptons. The popular hotel—located on the island affectionately referred to as the "Island of Peace" and situated between Long Island's North and South Forks—has transformed its façade, game room, and beachfront to evoke a beachfront vis-à-vis tropical palms in shades of grey and turquoise with contrasting warm wooden tones of flooring. Inside the Giorgio Armani pop up on Shelter Island. Guests included Linda Fargo, Mamie Gummer, André Balazs, Tracy Margulies, Kristina O'Neill, Leandra Medine Cohen, Mei Kwok, Pamela Tick, and Dora Fung of 10 Magazine US, who shared activities such as dog-friendly beach time, backgammon, al fresco dining, and dancing as part of the opening event celebrations on her Instagram feed.

Man throws darts at world map, visits whichever country he hits: 'Are you crazy?'

A man has made travel an unpredictable adventure by throwing a dart at a map of the world while blindfolded — and visiting whichever country his darts happen to hit. Sorin Mihailovici, 48, a small business entrepreneur, started the journey in 2012 after telling a friend he wanted to "wake up one morning and throw a dart at a map and go there." Mihailovici began by visiting far-flung places like the North Pole, Russia and Indonesia, originally taking annual trips but now traveling to up to 16 destinations a year. The trips were initially funded by his savings and later through partnerships with companies, per SWNS. He doesn't travel to the exact spot where his dart lands, but begins in the country's capital because some nations, such as Uruguay, are too small for precise targeting, said Mihailovici. Mihailovici's favorite countries so far include Iceland, Argentina and Thailand, while Madagascar ranked "hands down" as his least favorite, he said, due to a "misconception" shaped by the animated movie sharing its name and locals who "didn't have the best intentions." Praising Vietnam, Mihailovici, a Canadian, insisted its cuisine is "the best street food I've ever had," and noted it was the cheapest destination that he's traveled to, SWNS reported. Some countries, especially in Scandinavia like Norway and Sweden, and places like Switzerland and the Maldives, can be quite expensive, he pointed out. Mihailovici's travel show, "Travel by Dart," features footage from his trips. He began editing and publishing the clips during the COVID pandemic, eventually selling the concept to a distribution company, as SWNS reported. "While we were at home, I started editing all those materials from every country and created a season of 13 episodes," he said. "Most of the time it's just me on location. I hire a local videographer, film and create episodes for YouTube — and over the years, I've started doing a show for Amazon Prime." Despite the unpredictable nature of his travels, Mihailovici said he isn't afraid of dangerous destinations. He was in Iraq recently, he said. "People said, 'Are you crazy?' Maybe it was not safe, but nothing happened to me. We went to Baghdad and Babylon. It was great. I was eating camel every day," Mihailovici told SWNS. He admitted he was "a little scared" about going to Iraq given the political situation, but was determined to follow through with wherever the dart suggested he go. "It was great. I was eating camel every day." "The idea is to visit the whole world, each and every country by dart," Mihailovici said. "I did all the big ones that are larger on the map," he said. "The smaller ones are hard to hit, and I'm also blindfolded [while throwing the dart], so I can't pinpoint it to a certain continent." Mihailovici said he hopes to continue expanding his travel list. He said Australia and Spain are his next dream destinations, though he admits they're "hard to hit" and plans another dart throw in August, according to SWNS. Among the countries he's traveled to so far are Easter Island, Indonesia, Bermuda, Portugal, Cuba, Thailand, Colombia, Brazil, Italy, Iceland, Greece, Japan, Antarctica, Germany, Vietnam, India, Turkey, South Korea and Yemen, SWNS reported. Mihailovici said hotels sometimes offer gratuities to be featured in his show, per SWNS.
