'Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade' Lands Nintendo Switch 2 Release
The Final Fantasy Remake series director Naoki Hamaguchi has revealed that the first game in the trilogy, 2021's Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade , will be getting a Nintendo Switch 2 release.
Announced via Nintendo's latest Creator's Voice episode, Hamaguchi revealed that it was possible to bring the game to the handheld platform due to the improvements of the Switch 2 over its predecessor, stating that 'With the power of the Switch 2, we can now recreate Midgar with full specs.'
The game will also incorporate the console's GameChat feature, allowing players to share their screens and talk to friends in real time while playing. 'Being able to play this game on the Switch 2 in handheld mode means you can play it on the train while commuting to work,' Hamaguchi added, 'I'm very excited to see this game playable on a portable system [and] I have high hopes that we can build a strong partnership between Nintendo and the Final Fantasy brand.'
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is the enhanced PS5 version of the original 2020 remake on the PS4, which not only improved the title's graphical fidelity and framerate, but also included its Intermission DLC, which featured the Materia Hunter Yuffie Kisaragi. The game greatly expanded upon Square Enix's classic 1997 RPG Final Fantasy VII , offering the definitive way to relive the Midgar experience.
Although only Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade has been confirmed for Nintendo's latest console so far, Hamaguchi did suggest that the other games in the trilogy, 2024's Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and its upcoming final entry, will head to the Switch 2 sometime in the future, as he ended the video by saying: 'I hope players are looking forward to the Final Fantasy VII Remake series on Switch 2.'
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade's Switch 2 version doesn't have a firm release date yet, but more is sure to be revealed as the upcoming console approaches its release on 5 June 2025. The game is currently available on the PS5 and PC.

‘Predator: Killer of Killers' Sneak Peek Pits Apex Hunter Against Viking Warriors
The Vikings are about to meet their toughest foe yet, as Hulu has unveiled a first-look clip for Predator: Killer of Killers , the upcoming animated anthology film set for release on 6 June. The minute-long clip offers a glimpse at one of the film's three central plotlines and teases the showdown between the Viking Raiders and a Predator warrior, a muscle-clad beast armed with some sort of energy weapon in place of its right hand. Fans are immediately treated to the gratuitous violence they know and love, with the clip kicking off with the Predator holding the severed head of a recently deceased Viking. A female Viking armed with two shields, presumably the main character of the segment, then proceeds to lunge at the hulking beast, but her efforts are in vain, as it promptly charges up its energy weapon and sends her flying off a cliff. Hailing from director Dan Trachtenberg, the mind behind 2022's Prey and the upcoming Predator: Badlands , Predator: Killer of Killers marks the first animated film in the franchise, and will follow the stories of three different warriors throughout history. Apart from the Viking age, the film will also feature the story of a Ninja in Feudal Japan and an Allied pilot during World War II. With so much violence shown in just a brief clip, it's a promising sign that Predator: Killer of Killers would bring the franchise to a whole new light with its shift from live-action to animation, providing brutal, never-before-seen ways to showcase the prowess of its titular hunters that simply won't be possible in the live-action format. Fans won't even have to wait much longer to bask in all its bloody glory, as Predator: Killer of Killers lands on 6 June 2025 on Hulu in the United States and internationally on Disney+. 'Dungeons & Dragons' Single-Player Game In The Works From 'Star Wars Jedi' Veteran
Giant Skull, a new game studio founded by Star Wars Jedi franchise and God of War 3 director Stig Asmussen, is hard at work on an upcoming single-player Dungeons & Dragons action adventure. The currently untitled project was announced by Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast, and follows previous reports that Giant Skull was making a new AAA single-player game built in Unreal Engine 5. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (2023) 'Our talented and experienced team at Giant Skull is built on creativity and curiosity,' Asmussen said in a statement. 'Our goal is to craft a rich new Dungeons & Dragons universe filled with immersive storytelling, heroic combat and exhilarating traversal that players will fully embrace.' Formed in 2024 after Asmussen left Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment a year prior, Giant Skull's leadership team also consists of lead producer Lauren McLemore ( Fortnite, League of Legends ), art director Patrick Murphy ( Valorant, Ratchet & Clank ), CTO Jon Carr ( Star Wars Jedi: Survivor ), design director Jeff Magers ( Star Wars Jedi franchise, Medal of Honor: Airborne ), animation director Brian Campbell ( Fortnite ) and COO/CFO Anthony Scott. Previous reports also indicated that the team consists of Rockstar alumni as well. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (2019) Giant Skull's latest project is set to add another notch to publisher Wizards of the Coast's belt, joining a separate D&D action adventure game by Invoke Studios, the team behind 2021's Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance , alongside the sci-fi RPG Exodus , which will be helmed by Archetype Entertainment, a team made from former Mass Effect veterans. With Asmussen's impressive track record consisting of highly successful games like the Star Wars Jedi franchise, God of War II and its sequel God of War III , hopes are high that Giant Skull would be able to deliver an immersive story-focused adventure set in the captivating world of Dungeons & Dragons . The project is still in its infancy, although it was confirmed to be a multi-platform title and will launch on PC and consoles 'at a later date'.
