Police searching for Cumbernauld schoolboy who vanished
Officers are looking to track down Shaun Flynn, who has been reported missing from the Cumbernauld area in North Lanarkshire.
The 16-year-old was last seen in Cumbernauld at 8.35pm on June 9. Since then, the youngster has been spotted in Glasgow on June 10 and, more recently, in Edinburgh on June 11.
He is described as being 5ft 7inch tall, of slim build, and has black hair. When last seen, he was donning a black RAB t-shirt and trousers, a black Nike fleece and trainers, and a black ICON cap.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Anyone who may have seen Shaun since this time, or who has any information which could be relevant, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 3428 of June 9, 2025."

The trip would have been a delightful change of scenery for the couple who are believed to have lived together in a cottage in the village of Longridge, West Lothian. However, their journey ended in tragedy before the afternoon of Saturday, June 7 when Police Scotland officers found the couple's bodies. A spokesman for Police Scotland confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances, reports the Mirror. Adele's heartbroken mother, Anne, shared a touching tribute on Facebook, accompanied by a photo of herself with her daughter, and wrote: "I am devastated to be writing this - my eldest daughter Adele and her partner Craig have sadly passed away. The family are heartbroken at this time. You are my firstborn, the one who made me a mum. I'm in pieces, another part of my heart is in heaven." One friend reminisced about countryside strolls with Adele, posting photos and expressing: "Thank you for always being an amazing friend, always honest and caring." A Longridge neighbour recalled the couple fondly, remarking: "They were a good couple who liked camping. It's a tragedy." Police Scotland has issued a statement regarding the deaths of Adele and Craig: "A man and woman were found deceased within a tent on the side of Loch Awe at 4.25pm on Saturday. Their deaths are not being treated as suspicious." This news comes shortly after the discovery of a body in a wooded area near Falkirk, believed to be that of Cole Cooper, a 19-year-old who went missing last month. The body was located close to Kilsyth Road in Banknock at approximately 4.15pm on Friday, June 6, not far from where Cole was last seen. Police Scotland has informed Cole's family of the find, although formal identification has yet to take place. The site where the body was discovered is only a 15-minute walk from Cole's last known location. Police Scotland continues its efforts to unravel the circumstances of the incident.
