NIA conducts searches at house of alleged member of banned PFI in Tenkasi
Officers from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday (August 20, 2025) conducted searches at the residence of Mohammed Ali, at Pettai in Kadayanallur, Tenkasi district, in connection with the 2019 murder of Ramalingam, a Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) functionary. Mr. Ali's son, who is currently working abroad, is allegedly a member of Popular Front of India (PFI), a Muslim outfit banned by the Union government. The four-member NIA team arrived at Mr. Ali's house on Puthumanai Street in Pettai on Wednesday morning. They searched for evidence reportedly linked to the murder. The NIA team scanned a laptop recovered from the house and interrogated the family members of Mr. Ali.
