Lori Vallow Daybell back in court, charged with conspiracy to murder ex nephew-in-law
PHOENIX, Arizona (ABC4) — Lori Vallow Daybell is back in court, charged with conspiring to commit the attempted murder of her former nephew-in-law, Brandon Boudreaux.
Daybell is charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder of Brandon Boudreaux, the ex-husband of her niece, Melani. Boudreaux alleges he was shot at while returning home on Oct. 2, 2019. Daybell is representing herself in the trial, as she did in her Arizona trial on conspiring to murder her estranged husband, Charles Vallow, where she was found guilty.
Daybell was also previously sentenced for murder and conspiracy to murder her children, Joshua 'JJ' Vallow, 7, and Tylee Ashlyn Ryan, 16. She was sentenced to prison and is currently serving five life sentences for the crimes.
Lori Vallow Daybell given 5 life sentences in prison for murder of her two children
In the final chapter of the Lori Vallow Daybell trials, prosecutors are accusing Daybell of conspiring with her late brother, Alex Cox, to kill Boudreaux outside of his Gilbert home back in 2019. He gave emotional testimony of the events that took place that day, where he was reportedly shot at, but not hit.
'This defendant, Lori Vallow Daybell, has been charged with conspiracy to commit the first-degree murder of Brandon Boudreaux on October 2nd of 2019. The evidence in this case will prove to you beyond reasonable doubt that this defendant conspired with Alex Cox and others to kill Brandon,' said Prosecutor Treena Kay.
Boudreaux said he went to the gym, then came home, and as he was waiting for his garage door to open, he noticed a Jeep with Texas plates on the side of the road that was parked awkwardly. He said the car moved in, the back window of the Jeep opened, and he saw the muzzle of a gun.
At this point, he heard a bang and the window of his Tesla shattered. He immediately started driving, thinking someone had shot at him. Boudreaux then called 911 as he drove to the neighborhood pool. Police arrived and he talked with officers, realizing that someone had tried to kill him.

Boudreaux also asserted before the jury that Daybell played a part in his divorce, claiming she influenced his ex-wife, Melani Pawlowski.
The second day of Daybell's trial in Arizona was held on Friday, as witnesses and evidence were presented before the jury. Daybell was asked to leave the room after an argument with the judge, in which she had raised her voice in discussing whether her 'good character' could later be presented before the court.
As the day progresses, evidence and witness testimony continue to be presented before the jury, including forensic evidence relating to the gunshot residue, provided by the detective involved in the case.
Boudreaux will be cross-examined. Live updates of Day 2 of the trial can be found here. Watch Day 2 of the trial here.

Lori Vallow Daybell Removed from Court After Arguing with Judge During Attempted Murder Trial: 'Get Her Out'
Lori Vallow Daybell was removed from a courtroom in Arizona this week after arguing with a judge during her latest attempted murder trial She went back and forth with Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Justin Beresky over the inclusion of character evidence before a break Lori was previously found guilty of murdering her two children and for conspiring to murder her husband Chad Daybell's first wife, as well as her fourth husbandA judge had Lori Vallow Daybell escorted out of court this week after she argued with him during her latest attempted murder trial. On Friday, June 6 — during what marked the second day of Daybell's Arizona trial over her allegedly conspiring to kill Brandon Boudreaux, her niece's ex-husband — Lori went back and forth with Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Justin Beresky over the inclusion of character evidence before a break. In footage of the exchange, shared by East Idaho News, Lori, who is representing herself in the case, was told by the judge that if she were to "introduce how you have great character," it would lead to a discussion on "what evidence" can be brought in to rebut that character evidence, including discussion of her previous convictions. Lori was previously found guilty of murdering her two children, Joshua Jaxon "J.J." Vallow and Tylee Ryan. She was also found guilty of conspiring to murder her husband Chad Daybell's first wife, Tammy Daybell, as well as her fourth husband, Charles Vallow. "[The evidence] could include being convicted of four murders," Judge Beresky told Lori. "So talk to your advisory council during the break." Lori then interrupted the judge, stating, "You don't need to yell at me," which prompted him to respond, "I'm not yelling at you." "Yeah you are," Lori replied. "And you don't need to talk to me that way." Beresky then ordered court security to "take her out." As Lori claimed she had been "very courteous" to the judge," Beresky replied, "No, you have been nothing near courteous to me during the course of these proceedings." He continued, "Talk to your advisory council about the rest of your cross, we're going to resume in 15 minutes." Lori later apologized to the judge upon her return to court after he warned her that continued interruptions could impact her ability to represent herself during the trial, AZCentral reported. Lori was indicted by a Maricopa County grand jury in 2023 over allegedly conspiring to kill her niece's ex-husband Boudreaux on Feb. 24, 2022. As KSL reported, officers believe her late brother Alex Cox fired a gun at Bourdreaux, though prosecutors alleged this week that they believe she was involved in planning the shooting and that Cox was her alibi. Lori cross-examined Boudreaux on June 6, as he claimed that they didn't always have a good relationship, per KSL. Lori, who will be sentenced in the Vallow case at a later time, is already serving three life sentences. Chad was previously convicted of his first wife Tammy's murder and the murder of Lori's children, and has been sentenced to death. Read the original article on People

Trump Confronted Musk in Private Before Their Blowout Public Fight
This week, president Donald Trump and Elon Musk's bad blood burst into public view — but apparently, it had been brewing behind the scenes for some time. In a massive exposé looking behind the curtain of the year's biggest breakup, the New York Times revealed that the pair was already squabbling immediately after Musk's now-infamous farewell party — yes, the one that Musk showed up to with a mysterious black eye and a bizarre excuse. According to White House insiders who requested that the NYT keep them anonymous, Trump learned just ahead of Musk's now-infamous final Oval Office meeting last week that aviator Jared Isaacman, the billionaire's pick to lead NASA, had in recent years been a big-time donor to Democrats. Though many donations are public and easily accessible on databases like OpenSecrets, the information in that file was apparently news to the president. After playing nice during Musk's televised farewell, Trump apparently made his displeasure with the situation known. During the confrontation, Trump read the names out loud — which names, we don't know, because the NYT didn't reveal them — while reportingly shaking his head. This wasn't good, he told Musk. Attempting to defend his pick, Musk insisted that Isaacman's donations could be spun positively as proof that Trump, himself a former registered Democrat, was willing to hire people from different political backgrounds. The president, however, wasn't buying it, and suggested it showed only that the well-heeled SpaceX customer was a turncoat. Isaacman's nomination was ultimately rescinded after that tense exchange at the end of May. And according to the NYT's unnamed insiders, that debacle was the tipping point that took his increasing frustrations with the president to nuclear levels. Within just a few days, Musk began posting about the "abomination" that he consider's Trump's 2025 budget and tax proposal to be — and added in an apparent pedophilia allegation for good measure. The president, to his end, responded publicly to Musk's barbs the only way he knows how: with cruelty and aplomb. Along with threatening to cancel SpaceX's NASA contracts, Trump allegedly, per more reporting from the New York Times, decided to sell the cherry-red Tesla he purchased in March "as a show of support and confidence" for Musk. Man charged in deadly crash that killed Endicott police sergeant extradited to N.H.
The man accused in a deadly crash that killed an Endicott police sergeant was arrested and extradited to New Hampshire on Friday. According to New Hampshire State Police, officers obtained an extraditable arrest warrant in December and charged Keoma Duarte, 40 of New Bedford with two felony counts of reckless conduct and one misdemeanor count of disobeying an officer. Prosecutors say Keoma Duarte was so drunk the night before Thanksgiving that officers could smell the alcohol on him as they worked to free him from his crumpled Tesla on Interstate 95 near Newbury. Duarte's Tesla had slammed head-on into a car that Endicott College Police Sgt. Jeremy Cole was driving, killing the 49-year-old husband and father of four as he drove home from work. Duarte, 40, was arraigned on vehicular homicide and manslaughter charges from his hospital bed in December. He spoke only once, acknowledging he could hear the judge. On June 3rd, NH troopers traveled to Bristol County Jail and House of Correction in Massachusetts and took Duarte into custody. Duarte was then transported back to New Hampshire, where he was held at the Rockingham County Department of Corrections ahead of arraignment on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, in Hampton District Court. Jeremy Cole was a police sergeant at Endicott College. News of his death shook the close-knit community of students and staff. The crash remains under investigation. This is a developing story.
