On Saturday, LSU baseball will begin its 17th super regional in program history with West Virginia coming to town. It's a best-of-three series, and LSU now sits two games away from a College World Series birth.
LSU was last here in 2023. The Tigers hosted Kentucky in the Baton Rouge Super Regional. LSU swept the Wildcats in two games before going to Omaha and winning the whole thing.
The current NCAA Baseball Tournament was adopted in 1999. That's when the super regional was introduced.
