Bhavans - Bahrain Indian School wins laurels at Middle East French recitation contest
Bhavans- Bahrain Indian School (BIS) proudly celebrates a remarkable achievement at the BME French Poetica 2025, organized by Indian Educational School, Bhavans, Kuwait on Saturday, 31st May 2025,via Online platform. The event saw enthusiastic participation from Bhavans schools across the GCC Region, showcasing students' flair and finesse in French Poetry Recitation. The competition witnessed participation from various Bhavans schools across the Middle East, including institutions from Kuwait, UAE (Al Ain, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Dubai), and the Kingdom of Bahrain, represented by Bahrain Indian School. Participants were evaluated on a well-rounded set of criteria, including clear pronunciation (50%), effective intonation and voice modulation (30%), and confident memorization with fluent delivery (20%). These standards ensured a fair and comprehensive assessment of each student's recitation skills. The recitations, evaluated by a panel of two professional judges, were conducted online and brought out the best in young talents from across the Middle East. Bahrain Indian School emerged with flying colours, with two students earning top accolades: Olive Maria George, Grade 6, secured First Prize in Category 1 and Mishal Imtiaz, Grade 10, bagged First Prize in Category 2 Their performances stood out for their eloquence, emotion, and confidence in delivering French poetry with remarkable precision and grace. The Directors Himanshu Verma and Ritu Verma, and Principal of Bahrain Indian School Saji Jacob congratulated both the winners.

Navalny widow launches TV channel to fight Russia ‘censorship'
TDT | Paris The widow of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny and Reporters Without Borders yesterday praised the launch of a television channel that aims to bypass censorship in Russia and preserve the Kremlin critic's legacy. The channel, called Future of Russia, will be broadcast via a free-to-air satellite platform run by the press freedom advocacy group Reporters Without Borders, known by its French abbreviation RSF. Navalny's team hopes to get greater exposure and better reach with the help of the satellite broadcasts, which will feature content that Navalny's team is producing for their YouTube channels in exile. 'I think it will be a long collaboration,' Yulia Navalnaya told reporters in a short statement in Paris.
