German aristocrat and model laments her 'Princess' title and says it caused her problems at school
The German royal, who resides in Vienna, is the daughter of Prince Heinrich of Hanover, 64, who is the brother of Prince Ernst, the current head of the House of Hanover, and Princess Thyra von Westernhagern, 51.
The Hanover clan are closely linked to the Monegasque royals, as Princess Eugenia's uncle, Prince Ernst, is married to Princess Caroline of Monaco. Her cousin, Princess Alexandra of Hanover, is also Charlotte Casiraghi 's half sister because of the family's cross over.
But having such regal connections hasn't always been easy for Eugenia, who says that she struggled with her title growing up.
'In school, I had some teachers that just didn't like me because of it, and they also said some comments which were not very nice or reasonable,' she told Tatler.
'It also has bad sides, having this name... I am interested in the history of my family, but it doesn't mean anything in general for living my day-to-day life.
'In Germany, it is just a name and it actually doesn't mean anything anymore. For me, it doesn't mean anything because I don't see myself as something different to others.'
The 23-year-old admitted that she 'didn't really care about school' and was more interested in tending to her horses.
Eugenia said she would go to the stables every day and spend three to four hours there, before starting her homework at 11pm.
She is now studying medicine at a prestigious institution in Vienna, following in her grandfather's footsteps, as Prince Ernest Augustus of Hanover was an Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) professor.
But Eugenia still mixes in high society circles and has recently discovered her flair for fashion.
She has perhaps developed an interest after observing Princess Alexandra and Charlotte Casiraghi, who are often seen front and centre at Chanel runway shows.
Eugenia also recently jetted off to Rome with luxury shoe brand Aquazzura with other aristocrats, including Princess Diana's niece Lady Kitty Spencer, Emma Thynn, the Marchioness of Bath and Lady Lola Bute.
The Princess has also begun her modelling career, using it as a respite from her intense medicine course.
She admitted that her parents, Prince Heinrich of Hanover and Princess Thyra von Westernhagern, were a 'little apprehensive' for her to go down this career path.
But they soon came around to the idea, once her 'scared' mother travelled with her to photoshoots and saw that they were legitimate.
Eugenia added: 'Right now I'm very happy about my life. It's very stable. I think if I only did fashion, then that could mess it up. I only have two more years to be a general doctor, there's no point leaving now. It wouldn't be worth it,' she adds.
The Princess' comments regarding title comes as Charlotte Casiraghi - who is worth an estimated $30million - has seemingly tried to distance herself from the notion that she's lived a gilded life.
Speaking to The Telegraph last year to promote the Literary Rendezvous she hosts in her role as a Chanel ambassador, the eleventh in line to the Monégasque throne explained how she studied at 'normal' schools while growing up in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.
'Never private schools, but schools with a lot of different social backgrounds. I wasn't at a privileged school at all,' she told the publication.
As well as attending 'normal' schools, the royal explained how she previously took part in work experience at The Independent.
'I wanted to be normal, I wanted to experience that harshness where people don't give you any interest or any help and you're on your own,' she said.
Elsewhere, Charlotte made it clear that she craves 'freedom' and doesn't enjoy 'officially representing' the Monaco Royal Family - despite joining her loved ones for various important events.
'But this brings pressure, people judge you and expect a lot from you when you have official status. I prefer to be free,' she explained, adding: 'I always try to detach myself from this 'royal' status.'
Charlotte - who counted Karl Lagerfeld as a family friend, is pals with model Naomi Campbell and is often seen on the front row of fashion shows alongside celebrities - also insisted that she 'doesn't understand why my private life should be of interest'.
The former equestrian, who now lives in Monaco, where she also organises health seminars at the principality's hospital, said that being on the 'outside' of the Royal Family - with no official role or title - 'allows more complexity and diversity'.
She noted how she often invites people to speak at her events who she doesn't agree with as she wants to try and 'confront ideas'.

Inside the feud between golf rivals Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau as pair fight for The Open at Royal Portrush
THE simmering feud between golf rivals Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau is about to be turned up at this week's Open. The superstars from opposite sides of the Atlantic are set to collide on the course at Royal Portrush. 5 5 And with the Ryder Cup in New York fast approaching this autumn, there will be more fireworks to come. The rivalry has yet to explode into all-out animosity. But there is a growing sense of tension between the two protagonists - USA v Europe; the PGA Tour v LIV Golf; the artist v the scientist. The friction first became apparent during the US Open last year, when McIlroy's dramatic collapse over the closing holes opened the door for DeChambeau to win. The man from Northern Ireland reportedly left the course without stopping to congratulate DeChambeau, only doing so on Instagram a day later. Things soured even further in December last year, when they met in Las Vegas for the Showdown, which saw McIlroy team up with Scottie Scheffler for the PGA Tour, to take on DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka from LIV. The pair met on the range before the event and McIlroy told a TV crew: 'I'd like to go up against Bryson and try to get him back for what he did to me at the US Open.' And DeChambeau replied: 'Well, to be fair, you kinda did it to yourself.' McIlroy is thought to have been upset by the quip, which was considered cruel. The duo then played alongside together in the last pairing of the final round of the Masters in April this year. McIlroy famously won in a play-off over Justin Rose, after one of the most white-knuckle gut-wrenching final rounds in history. DeChambeau later gave a sparky response when asked how Rory had coped, saying: 'No idea, he didn't talk to me once all day.' McIlroy later fired back: 'I don't know what he was expecting. We're trying to win the Masters. I'm not going to try to be his best mate out there.' Their rivalry is not yet up there with Ali v Frazier, but it is not going away. The two are both among the richest and most successful stars of their sport. McIlroy's Masters triumph completed the Grand Slam of all four majors and took him to 44 professional wins, including five major championships. DeChambeau has managed 14 professional victories, which includes two major titles. 5 5 As a result of their achievements on the course, McIlroy's net worth is estimated to £260m, while DeChambeau has around £145m. McIlroy owns multiple luxurious properties the world, including a Florida mansion, a house in La Quinta, California mansion, an estate in Northern Ireland, and apartments in New York and Dubai. He also has a new mansion being custom made on the exclusive Wentworth estate in Surrey. RORY MCILROY enjoyed a high-profile romance with former tennis world number one Caroline Wozniacki before their split in 2014. The following year, the golf ace began dating Erica Stoll, who he had first met on the PGA Tour in 2011. Erica often interacted with players through her role as the PGA's manager of championship volunteer operations. She even prevented McIlroy from missing his tee time at the 2012 Ryder Cup after some confusion over the time zone. The incident began a firm friendship between the pair, four years before their relationship turned romantic. McIlroy and Erica were spotted on a string of dates in Rochester, New York, in the early days of their relationship. Just eight months later, the couple got engaged in Paris and walked down the aisle at Ashford Castle in Ireland in 2017. The pair then welcomed daughter Poppy into the world three years later. Throughout their time together, McIlroy and Erica have kept their relationship to themselves, with the golfer keen to protect his family from the cameras during filming of Netflix's Full Swing documentary series. However, after seven years of marriage, McIlroy filed for divorce from Erica. The reasons for the divorce were not disclosed, but the Northern Irishman submitted documents to a court in Florida. However, a few weeks later, performed a U-turn on their decision to divorce. McIlroy told the outlet: "Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.' DeChambeau recently sold his swanky mansion in Texas to move into another in the same area. He is rumoured to be dating Lilia Schneider, a college golfer from ndianapolis. They have been pictured sharing a buggy at a LIV event. DeChambeau had previously dated another college golfer, Hunter Nugent, but she revealed that they had parted in 2022 and that Schneider was now with the American. He also used to date Sophia Phalen Bertolami who launched her own line of swimwear line with La Isla for a 'large cup' bikini wearer. McIlroy's love life is equally complicated. Last year his marriage to wife Erica Stoll looked to be over as they prepared to divorce, before a surprise change of heart and a dramatic U-turn on legal proceedings. Before that, he spent three years with Danish tennis beauty Caroline Wozniacki before breaking off their engagement in a phone call that lasted just three minutes. In 2014, McIlroy was romantically linked with Meghan Markle, before she married Prince Harry. The pair flirted in a video shared on social media, as he helped her take part in the Ice Bucket Challenge, a viral trend adopted by many celebs to raise money for ALS.

Cher, 79, and Alexander Edwards, 39, prove they are STILL going strong after 3 years as they hold hands in Rome
Cher and her boyfriend looked very much in love as they were spotted leaving a popular watering hole in Rome on Sunday. The 79-year-old singer, who had performed the night before at the Dolce and Gabbana party, held her boyfriend's hand as they exited the famous Jackie O nightclub. Cher looked relaxed wearing a white jacket and a pair of straight leg jeans with black and white sneakers. Her long, dark hair was styled in loose waves. Edwards, 39, looked dapper in a long white and black animal print shirt over a pair of straight leg jeans and dark shoes. His short blonde hair was closely cropped. The two have been dating for almost three years. The couple appear to be going strong during their loved up vacation in Italy. The pair met for the first time at Paris Fashion Week in October 2022. They were first seen holding hands in public a month later. Edwards, a music executive at Universal Group, shares custody of his son, Slash, five, with ex-partner Amber Rose. According to Rose, the two women get along well. 'I'm very happy that [Alexander is] with Cher because it creates stability for when [our] son goes over there,' she said on The Jason Lee Podcast in March 2024. 'It's not all mayhem and stuff.' As an older woman, Cher has received more than a little pushback on the difference in her and Edwards' ages, but that doesn't seem to bother the unflappable icon. Cher has dated several younger men over the years, including the late Val Kilmer and later his Top Gun co-star Tom Cruise. In 1986, at age 40, the future Oscar winner a young baker named Rob Camilletti, who was 22 at the time. Edwards is the dad of five-year-old Slash, whom he shares with ex Amber Rose. The pair broke up the next year due to the media attention surround their relationship. The Silkwood actress also dated Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora for about a year. Amazingly, Cher has been able to remain friends with a good number of her exes, explaining on the Table Manners podcast in December 2023, 'I'm close with all of my exes. I'm really close. Yeah. I have a feeling that you have to like someone a lot before you go to bed with them.' As for her penchant for younger men, Cher explained on The Jennifer Hudson Show in May 2024 it comes partly from necessity. 'The reason I got with young men is because men my age are older—well, now they're all dead—but before, they were always terrified to approach me, and younger men—they were raised by women like me.'

Adolescence star Owen Cooper, 15, becomes the youngest male Emmy Award nominee EVER as show sweeps the board with 13 nominations
Adolescence star Owen Cooper has become one of the youngest Emmy Award nominees ever after the shortlist for this year's awards was announced on Tuesday. At just 15-years-old the Warrington school will be the youngest-ever male winner in the 76-year history of the 'TV Oscars ' if he scoops the accolade for his role in one of Netflix 's most-watched series ever which has swept the board with 13 nominations. And Owen has been nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Anthology Series or Movie category at the Primetime after he starred alongside his on screen dad Stephen Graham. He will go up against his co-star Ashley Walters who has been nominated for his first Emmy in the same category after his role as DI Luke Bascombe. In his very first acting job, Owen played Jamie Miller, a 13-year-old arrested by armed police on suspicion of murder, in the gripping series which had the nation talking earlier this year. The youngest person ever to have won a Primetime Emmy is Roxana Zal, who at just 14 scored the Best Supporting Actress gong in 1984 for her role TV movie Something About Amelia. Meanwhile Scott Jacoby is the youngest male, making history when he bagged the Best Supporting Actor at 16 in 1973 for drama That Certain Summer. MailOnline previously revealed that Adolescence star would be entered in the Best Supporting Actor category, as opposed to Best Actor, which experts hailed as a 'genius move' and said would massively boost his chances of winning. Also in the category with Owen and Ashley is Javier Bardem, for his role in Monsters: The Lyle And Erik Menendez Story, Bill Camp and Peter Sarsgaard, for their resepective roles in Presumed Innocent and Rob Delaney, for his role in Dying For Sex. Speaking about his nomination, Ashley gushed: 'This is such an honour. This nomination means the world to me — not just as recognition, but as a reminder of how far I've come. 'It's for everyone who stood by me through the highs and the lows, who believed in me when I needed it most. 'It's a testament to the power of perseverance. Dreams are important — but it's the hard work, the setbacks, the growth, and the consistency that make them real. 'Five years ago, this felt out of reach. Today, I'm incredibly proud — not just for myself, but to stand alongside a group of artists I admire deeply. 'What we made together is something I'll carry with me forever, and to see it acknowledged on this level is truly special. 'Thank you to the Emmys for this nomination. To my wife and kids — thank you for grounding me and giving me purpose. To my family and friends, for being my foundation. 'To my team, who've worked tirelessly behind the scenes. And to the entire cast and crew — thank you for your brilliance and your heart. This moment is for all of us.' Owen, who hails from a proudly working class estate in central Warrington, was chosen from 500 candidates for the role of Jamie. It was his first-ever acting job and no one in his family has a background in the industry. He is being supported on his meteoric rise by dad Andy, an IT worker, and mum Noreen, a carer. Speaking about the change in their lives, Noreen said: 'It's such a shock, but we're getting on with it.' Last month Owen revealed he had even received praise from one huge Hollywood star, none other than Leonardo DiCaprio. During his appearance on Jimmy Fallon's talk show, Owen revealed the Oscar winner left him a video message when he was with his onscreen dad Stephen Graham. He said: 'Stephen Graham sent me a video yesterday and it's Leonardo DiCaprio sat next to him and he was saying "Hey Owen, I'm such a big fan of Adolescene". 'And I was like "What!"' Brand and culture expert Nick Ede predicted Owen could follow in Timothée Chalamet's footsteps and become 'the toast of Hollywood'. He told MailOnline: 'The phenomenal success of Adolescence has taken the TV world by storm and critics have been raving about Owen's stand-out performance. 'The Hollywood elite love a rags-to-riches story and, at 15 and his first ever role, this young actor who was brought up in humble surroundings could soon become Hollywood's hottest property and follow the path of many other child stars who have become household names, like Millie Bobby Brown or Timothee Chalamet. 'I'm sure writers will already be presenting his agents with scripts and synopsis that will feature him. The Emmy awards ceremony will take place in LA on September 14.
