Roster Moves: Eagles sign Washington WR Giles Jackson, waive running back Eagles have signed a receiver with 4.3 speed following a rookie minicamp tryout
The Philadelphia Eagles have made some roster moves following this weekend's rookie minicamp.
The team announced on Sunday that they have signed former Washington wide receiver Giles Jackson and released running back Tyrion Davis-Price.
Jackson, 5-9, 185 pounds, went undrafted after six collegiate seasons, two in Michigan and four with the Huskies. He had a breakout year in 2024, catching 85 passes for 893 yards and seven touchdowns.
Giles Jackson's Scouting Report vs NFL Draft Buzz:
Based on tape study, Jackson projects best to an offense emphasizing pre-snap motion and manufactured touches. His elite deep speed and short-area quickness create immediate value in the screen game and vertical passing attack, though size limitations restrict his deployment.
Gap scheme offenses featuring jet motion and RPO concepts align with Jackson's skillset, allowing him to operate in space while minimizing physical matchups. His value on special teams provides roster flexibility, though his frame suggests development as a complementary piece in the passing game.
Multiple coordinators have maximized Jackson's explosiveness through creative deployment, indicating scheme versatility despite physical limitations. His ceiling depends heavily on landing with a staff willing to manufacture touches while developing his route tree.
Giles capped off his final college season with an 11-catch, 161-yard performance against Louisville in the Sun Bowl. However, his four touchdown receptions weren't enough, as Washington lost after a failed two-point conversion.
Giles hopes to carry that momentum into the NFL and earn a depth role in Philadelphia.

Ex-NFL star Adam 'Pacman' Jones arrested for allegedly assaulting police officer in latest legal trouble

Former NFL star cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones was arrested in Kentucky early Saturday morning for allegedly assaulting a police officer, among other charges. The 41-year-old was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct and assaulting a police officer, according to Kenton County Jail records. The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Jones assaulted a Covington police officer, though it's unknown what had led to the incident in the first place. This is not Jones' first time being arrested this year, as he had been involved in a similar incident at the Jake Paul-Mike Tyson fight in Arlington, Texas months ago. The ex-Cincinnati Bengals cornerback was reportedly charged with alleged public intoxication, resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer at the Lowes Arlington Hotel, which is located less than one mile from AT&T Stadium – the host site of the Paul-Tyson bout. Police said that Jones had been involved in a physical altercation at the hotel's bar just after 1 a.m. While an officer arrived and diffused the situation, Jones "continued approaching and yelling at the others involved," according to investigators. Jones was, then, involved in another fight at the same hotel, where he reportedly hit an officer "on her arm." The female officer informed Jones he would be arrested. Jones also had an incident in 2023, where he was arrested and charged with alcohol intoxication, disorderly conduct and terroristic threatening at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport following an argument with an airline employee over USB ports near his seat on his flight. WLWT5 reported at the time that Jones pled guilty to disorderly conduct, while the other two charges were dropped. Jones, the sixth overall pick of the 2005 NFL Draft, was a one-time All-Pro and Pro Bowler on the field, though he struggled with arrests off it during his time playing as well. As a result, commissioner Roger Goodell suspended him for the entire 2007 season and part of the 2008 season for violating the NFL's conduct policy. Jones played 12 years in the NFL for the Bengals, Tennessee Titans, Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos, which was his final team in 2018. Lamar Jackson Faces Backlash for Big $1.5 Million Decision

Lamar Jackson Faces Backlash for Big $1.5 Million Decision originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Baltimore Ravens have wrapped up voluntary OTAs, and the most noticeable absence was star quarterback Lamar Jackson, who chose to skip the sessions for the second consecutive year. Advertisement That decision carries financial consequences due to the structure of Jackson's contract. Much like the approach often used by the Dallas Cowboys, the deal Jackson signed in 2023 includes annual $750,000 workout bonuses in 2024, 2025, 2026, and 2027. To earn each bonus, Jackson is required to attend at least 80% of the team's offseason workouts. Now, after missing workouts for a second straight year, Jackson has forfeited a total of $1.5 million in potential bonus money. Jackson has faced backlash from fans who believe he should be attending workouts, especially after multiple playoff exits. A fan said, "Maybe they'd beat the Chiefs if he gave a [explicit]." Advertisement Someone else added, "Why did his 'agent' allow that money to be put into workouts he had no intention of attending?" Another fan posted, "Another example of why he will never win a Super Bowl. Tom Brady never missed these workouts btw, and he was levels above you pal." "He should never complain about a contract ever again. If you can afford to not collect 1.5 million," one more fan commented. Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson (8).Tommy Gilligan-Imagn Images Showing up to voluntary workouts or not has not noticeably affected Jackson's on-field performance, as he has consistently been one of the NFL's best players year after year. That said, as the leader of a franchise, there are expectations that come with the role. When you don't have the ultimate goal—a Lombardi Trophy—to show for it, especially when your peers like Patrick Mahomes do, it naturally invites some criticism and heat.
