Controversial Jason Whitlock sticks the knife in on Howard Stern as future of $500m show hangs in the balance

Jason Whitlock rubbed salt in the wound on Wednesday when he launched a scathing attack on Howard Stern amid the shock jock's uncertain future. Stern, 71, has hosted the second incarnation of The Howard Stern Show since 2006, but his near 20-year run on SiriusXM's airwaves is in jeopardy as the end of his $500million five-year contract looms. The Daily Mail reported Tuesday that the host is in 'very serious negotiations' with the radio company on whether he will renew his contract with his show likely to come to an end when his deal runs out. And, as Stern's career hangs in the balance, controversial sports analyst Whitlock twisted the knife on his own show, 'Fearless with Jason Whitlock.' 'Howard Stern is perhaps the most fraudulent and disappointing media character,' the 58-year-old former columnist began. Whitlock admitted he had been an initial fan of Stern when he first burst onto the scene but blamed the radio host's drift to the left as the reason behind his demise. Howard Stern is perhaps the most fraudulent and disappointing character in media history. That's why SiriusXM canceled him. Inauthenticity no longer works. — Jason Whitlock (@WhitlockJason) August 6, 2025 'It's not that I thought he was the ultimate ultimate but I thought he was authentic,' Whitlock continued. 'He was politically incorrect, a shock jock and he was the best at that. And then, this guy pivoted into this woke clown. 'What I find fascinating here is that I think it's the return of Donald Trump and the culture change around Donald Trump that is why SiriusXM is moving off of Howard Stern. The culture no longer supports something as inauthentic as Howard Stern.' Trump himself weighed in on Stern's future earlier this week when he delivered his own take on why the shock jock may be facing cancellation. 'Howard Stern is a name I haven't heard - I used to do his show, we used to have fun - but I haven't heard that name in a long time,' Trump told reporters Wednesday in the Oval Office. 'What happened he got terminated?' the president asked. Stern has not yet been terminated, but that didn't stop Trump. 'You know when he went down? You know when he went down?' Trump then said. 'When he endorsed Hillary Clinton, he lost his audience. People said, get me a break. He went down when he endorsed Hillary Clinton.' Clinton was Trump's 2016 opponent. Stern also had Trump's 2024 rival, Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris, on his show last year. The Daily Mail first reported on Tuesday that Stern's SiriusXM show could be set to end after the shock jock's current contract is up. A show insider said: 'He may do a 1-2 year contract if they can meet him where he wants financially. He doesn't want to pull the plug on his employees like this.' A separate source said Stern was considering 'parting ways' with SiriusXM - and that his staff of 'around 95' writers and producers had only recently heard about Stern's indecision over the show's future. They added the star 'will likely sell his catalogue of shows to replay' on uncensored channels Howard 100 and Howard 101. 'He is off in the summer but this year has been saying "maybe I should retire"', the source said. It is possible Stern could also return for specials with SiriusXM. The source claimed Stern was also displeased over SiriusXM 'leaning heavily' on fellow radio star Andy Cohen. Stern, 71, has hosted the second incarnation of The Howard Stern Show since 2006, but a show insider confirmed to the Daily Mail that the host is in 'very serious negotiations' with SiriusXM on whether he will renew his contract - he's pictured with Madonna in 2015 Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Howard Stern, SiriusXM and Andy Cohen for comment and has yet to hear back. Dubbed the 'King of all Media' - Stern first launched The Howard Stern Show in 1986 on terrestrial radio. Stern decided to take on the challenge of pulling together interviews over the years where he was able to draw out shocking confessions. However, in recent years, the radio star's career fell from having 20 million listeners a day to to figures fans believe are as low as 125,000. He has predominantly broadcast from his home over the past five years, citing fears over COVID-19.

Trump Education Secretary's speech interrupted with ‘corrupt billionaire' audio and clown music

Donald Trump 's education secretary was interrupted as the sound system at a national youth conservative conference in Washington DC was hacked on Wednesday (6 August). Linda McMahon was speaking when a robotic voice blared out throughout the venue: 'McMahon is a corrupt billionaire who knows nothing about education.' Former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who was hosting the event, jokingly accused 'a few liberal senators' of working with the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) to disrupt McMahon. As she continued to speak, 'Entrance of the Gladiators,' a song commonly associated with clowns, played out of the speakers, with McMahon later stopping to chuckle.

JD Vance responds to South Park's brutal takedown of Trump admin

Vice President JD Vance took to X on Thursday morning to respond to South Park's brutal takedown of the Trump administration. The South Park account shared an image of Vance and President Donald Trump with the caption 'Welcome to Mar-a-Lago!' 'Well, I've finally made it,' Vance wrote. The second episode of the 27th season of South Park took aim at the president and many of his colleagues and supporters. At one point, a mini version of the vice president is shown waiting on the president, who's in bed with Satan. The episode also includes a parody of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who became known for having shot her own dog. Meanwhile, Cartman imitates conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The episode outlines the financial struggles of Mr. Mackey after he was laid off from South Park Elementary. Mackey's banker suggests that he join Immigration and Customs Enforcement because of their good salaries. Mackey ends up joining ICE, watching an orientation video with Noem, which mocks the fact that she once confessed to killing her own dog. 'A few years ago, I had to put my puppy down by shooting it in the face, because sometimes doing what's important means doing what's hard,' she says in the episode before shooting a number of dogs during her ICE orientation speech. Trump campaign alum Matt Mowers responded to Vance on X, saying being featured on South Park was 'A key life milestone appreciated by any millennial.' During the episode, ICE conducts a raid on heaven and detains a number of angels. Mackey's role in ICE leads him to be recognised by Trump, who invites him to Mar-a-Lago. Trump subsequently invites Mackey into bed with him and Satan. Mini-Vance asks Trump, 'Would you like me to apply the baby oil to Satan's a**hole, boss?' Cartman is in the episode as a podcaster, pushing many conspiracy theories. The mockery of the Trump administration comes after South Park blasted the use of an image from the show to promote joining ICE. On Tuesday, the DHS account on X shared a still image from a teaser for the episode showing ICE officers entering South Park. The caption urged people to join ICE. 'Wait, so we ARE relevant?' the South Park account wrote in response, adding the hashtag 'eat a bag of d***s.' The caption was a reference to a White House statement following the premiere of the 27th season, which included a harsh criticism of the president. 'This show hasn't been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention,' a White House spokesperson said at the time. Former Biden staffer Megan Bates-Apper wrote on X, 'Vance is definitely not mad and totally in on the joke.'
