Oliver Glasner spoke to BBC Match of the Day after Crystal Palace's defeat against Manchester City: "The defeat really hurts because when you're up by two and scoring the third we had a fantastic start. But we conceded the goals too easily. We didn't defend at our top level so we can do this better. A team like Man City will punish it. We were not on our top level today defending and that's why we conceded too many goals."On whether conceding five surprised him: "Maybe there are a few reasons. Maxence didn't train the whole week. I think everybody else can do it better. "Of course on the other side we have to accept City are a top team. When you are not at your top level they can always find the gaps and they are able to score a goal. Especially after their first they got quicker in they head and after the second they had their rebound. I think after the first goal it was tough. "The players did their best but we will learn from this game. When you play a team like City you have to be in your top level in defence.""The last time we conceded five was against Arsenal before Christmas and then we had a great run. We will analyse this again and then train. In four days we have the chance to do it better against Newcastle and this is what we'll go for."

Liam Delap left out of England Under-21 squad for European Championship
The 22-year-old forward, who signed for the Blues for a reported £30m this week, was part of Lee Carsley's provisional squad list but will not take the trip to Slovakia. Carsley's squad was announced on Friday as the Young Lions bid to defend their 2023 crown, with Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton another notable absentee. Delap scored for England Under-21s against France in March, but will miss this summer's tournament to feature under Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca in the inaugural Club World Cup, which starts on June 14 – three days before the Under-21 Euros get under way. Wharton is another high-profile absentee for Carsley but the Crystal Palace midfielder missed the final games of the season after he suffered concussion following their FA Cup final victory last month. Tino Livramento, Jarell Quansah and Elliot Anderson have been included in the England Under-21 squad after senior boss Thomas Tuchel namechecked the trio last month and urged them to play a 'major role' in the tournament. James McAtee has been selected despite Manchester City being set for Club World Cup action. Confidence is growing within Republic of Ireland squad

'If you've watched Kasey, he got a run for Leicester at the end of the season so you can see his club progress and he brought that into the national team,' Hallgrimsson said. 'That's always the answer you would like to have when you try out new players. 'It was a really good first start for him. He's a confident player on the ball, he has speed, good dribbling technique and if we can isolate him going one v one, that is his strength. 'He's just a clever footballer with a good football brain; he knows where to pass the ball and not to pass the ball, etc.' A Senegal side without star names such as Sadio Mane and Kalidou Koulibaly levelled from close range through Sarr, with Hallgrimsson lamenting the absence of VAR as he felt the FA Cup winner was offside. 'VAR probably would have given it offside but we knew VAR was not in-house so we cannot complain,' the Icelander added. 'I think the referees did a good job, there was a really good flow in the game, so I was happy.'
