Texas A&M's tough 2025-2026 SEC basketball schedule has been revealed

USA Today14 hours ago
Texas A&M's 2025-2026 basketball season will be the first for new head coach Bucky McMillan, who is just one player away from entering his inaugural campaign with a 15-player roster that is talented enough to compete for an NCAA Tournament bid. This summer, the new roster has been hard at work, getting acclimated to the speed and intensity of McMillan's system.
After five seasons leading the Samford Bulldogs, McMillan is entering the toughest conference in college basketball, as the SEC has dominated the landscape in both recruiting and NCAA Tournament success. His new roster has enough star power, including former Texas Tech/Creighton guard Pop Issacs and Indiana transfer forward Mackenzie Mgbako, who are expected to lead the Aggies in several categories.
On Wednesday, Texas A&M's SEC schedule was released, and, similar to last season, the Aggies will be challenged from start to finish. Thanks to TexAgs for the graphic, the Aggies will kick off the 2026 SEC season against LSU at home, before facing Auburn on the road, Oklahoma at home, and then two consecutive road games against Tennessee and Texas.
Outside of LSU, who should be improved, but not considered one of the top teams, Auburn, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas could all be ranked in the Top 25 at this time.
Texas A&M will also face Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, and Vanderbilt on the road, which is quite the gauntlet for any first-year head coach. However, the Aggies are expected to be one of the top-scoring teams in the conference, so defense and rebounding are the fundamental questions that will be answered once the season begins.

Wisconsin football top-ranked class of 2027 quarterback target schedules Madison visit

Wisconsin football top-ranked class of 2027 quarterback target Israel Abrams included the Badgers in his fall visit list on Tuesday. Abrams also mentioned his intention to visit Northwestern, Tennessee, Iowa State and Purdue during his fall recruiting window, per 247Sports' Allen Trieu. The outlet notes that Abrams, who pocketed an offer from Wisconsin on Feb. 12, has received 15 NCAA Division I offers thus far. 247Sports lists Abrams as the No. 59 overall prospect, No. 5 quarterback and No. 4 player from his home state of Illinois for the class of 2027. A product of Montini Catholic High School, the 6-foot-4 playmaker threw for 2,033 yards and 29 touchdowns with just three interceptions as a sophomore en route to a state title. Here's what 247Sports' national recruiting analyst Cooper Petagna had to say about Abrams' outlook under center: "Well-built frame throughout and an elastic mover for his size. Not exceptionally twitchy but shows the ability to consistently avoid pressure and extend plays with his feet. Plays with adequate footwork but has a tendency to rely on his upper body as a passer. Over-the-top release point, not the smoothest, but effective and gets the ball out quickly enough. Displays above average to good arm promising physical tools for the position and natural intangibles of creating as a playmaker in and outside the pocket. Also flashes anticipation and ball placement as a passer. Has some really intriguing stuff to him; hard not to like the trajectory of the player." While early in his recruiting journey, On3/Rivals' recruiting prediction machine considers Iowa State the heavy favorite to land a commitment at 61.3%. Wisconsin, meanwhile, is listed at 1%. Luke Fickell's program has offered 12 class of 2027 quarterbacks, headlined by four-star Kavian Bryant. The Badgers have yet to secure a commitment for the '27 cohort, but the most pressing recruiting matters revolve around the class of 2026. UW's 2026 bunch still sits at No. 60 in the nation with 14 players committed. Following a relatively busy June, the Badgers did not see any movement in July. In a crowded Big Ten with several contending programs, that quota must increase in the coming months, if not weeks. Nebraska football corner Andrew Marshall generating buzz

Nebraska football secondary coach Addison Williams had high praise for transfer corner Andrew Marshall. Williams met with the media on Tuesday afternoon. Marshall was one of the key additions from the transfer portal. He came to Nebraska on December 25, transferring with two seasons of eligibility remaining. He was a star player at the University of Idaho. The versatile corner played in 26 games, starting 14 of them. He totaled 72 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, eight pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery during that time. The 2024 season saw him produce at a high level. He recorded 50 tackles, one tackle for loss, three pass breakups, and a forced fumble and recovery. He also proved his worth on special teams. He tallied eight kickoff returns for 327 yards and a touchdown as well as 14 punt returns for 150 yards and a touchdown. Marshall earned first-team All-Big Sky honors as a corner and honorable mention as a kickoff returner in 2024. Now, Williams is seeing Marshall's playmaking ability, as he told the media on Tuesday afternoon, as transcribed by Justin Frommer. 'He is a pro. He has a chip on his shoulder coming from the FCS. Hes using it as motivation to prove himself.' Marshall's versatility, both in the secondary and on special teams, is certainly something to be optimistic about as a Husker fan. It will be exciting to see what he can do in both areas. Wisconsin football top class of 2027 linebacker target to visit in November

Wisconsin football class of 2027 linebacker target Tate Wallace shared his plans to visit the Badgers on Nov. 22 via X on Tuesday. The four-star defensive playmaker will venture to Madison for the Badgers' final home game of the 2025 slate against Illinois. Wallace also intends to visit the Kansas State Wildcats (Aug. 30), Michigan State Spartans (Sept. 6), Tennessee Volunteers (Sept. 13), Michigan Wolverines (Oct. 4), Minnesota Golden Gophers (Oct. 11), Indiana Hoosiers (Oct. 18) and Northwestern Wildcats (Nov. 15). 247Sports considers the four-star prospect as the No. 148 overall recruit, No. 9 linebacker and No. 2 athlete from Iowa for the class of 2027. As a sophomore at Regina High School, Wallace also suits up at running back and receiver. Away from the gridiron, he plays varsity basketball and baseball as a three-sport athlete, per MaxPreps. Like several of his 2027 contemporaries, Wallace's final collegiate destination remains unclear. On3/Rivals considers Minnesota the early favorite at 36.5%, but Miami (Ohio) follows at No. 2 with a 32% chance to land his commitment. Nonetheless, Wallace's inclusion of the Badgers is an encouraging sign at this stage of the process. As of Aug. 6, the Badgers do not boast a 2027 commitment. Its class of 2026 -- the more prudent recruiting task -- remains ranked at No. 60 in the nation with 14 commitments.
