Jagan is synonymous with backstabbing politics, alleges TDP MLA Gana Babu
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has criticised YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and his party leaders for their move to observe 'Vennupotu Dinam' on June 4, marking the completion of one year of the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh.
The TDP leaders argued that the NDA government had implemented several key poll promises in a year, including the enhancement of pensions, the Deepam scheme, Mega DSC recruitment drive, and the revival of Anna Canteens.
Addressing the media at his camp office on Tuesday, TDP Visakhapatnam (West) MLA P.G.V.R. Naidu, popularly known as Gana Babu, described Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy as arrogant, saying that the former Chief Minister had not learnt any lesson from the people's verdict in the 2024 elections.
'Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy is synonymous with backstabbing politics. He has amassed wealth by betraying the Congress during his tenure as an MP. Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy's name surfaced in the controversial death of his uncle Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy. He betrayed even his mother and sister,' Mr. Gana Babu alleged.
Questioning Mr. Jagan's achievements as the Chief Minister, Mr. Gana Babu demanded answers regarding the unfulfilled promises of liquor prohibition in State and the release of a job calendar.
TDP Visakhapatnam president Gandi Babjee ridiculed the YSRCP leaders' statements on the NDA government, pointing out that the previous government took five years to increase pensions by ₹1,000 and now 'has the audacity to speak about betrayal'.
He alleged that Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy had betrayed the people of Andhra Pradesh in the name of three capitals.

Anbumani calls on Ramadoss, attempts to break the ice in vain
VILLUPURAM: PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss called on his father and party founder S Ramadoss at the Thailapuram farmhouse on Thursday in an apparent effort to end the cold war between the two and resolve the ongoing issues between them. The meeting lasted about 45 minutes. However, political observers believed that the meeting did not resolve the issues between the father and son, as neither met the press, hinting that they had not reached an amicable solution for reconciliation. 'The much-awaited meeting has not yielded any fruitful results so far. We have to wait for a couple of days to learn what transpired between the two. Chinna Ayya (Anbumani) and his daughter visited Ayya (Ramadoss). They were closeted for about 45 minutes. Chinna Ayya's elder sister (Gandhimathi) also reached the farmhouse and joined the meeting just five minutes before they concluded the discussions. We have no clue what they discussed, but as usual, the media started speculating,' said a party source. Gandhimathi is the mother of Mukundan, who was appointed as the party's youth wing president despite stiff opposition from Anbumani in December last year. Mikundan has denounced his position a few days ago following the spat between Ramadoss and Anbumani. In a surprise development, Thuglak magazine editor and auditor S Gurumurthy, a pro-BJP political commentator, called on Ramadoss at his farmhouse on Thursday ahead of Union home minister Amit Shah's visit. Gurumurthy's visit was regarded as an attempt to insist that Ramadoss continue in the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and face the assembly polls next year in the state. The visit comes after Ramadoss, while lashing out at his son a few days ago, had openly said he was not in favour of joining NDA for the 2024 parliamentary polls but was forced to do so following pressure from Anbumani and Sowmiya Anbumani. Ramadoss had earlier demoted his son from the post of president to working president, sparking a war between them. The father and son rift widened further after they held separate meetings with the party's top functionaries over the past few days to gain control over the party. Anbumani, while speaking to the party functionaries in Chennai on Wednesday night, termed party secretary Anbalagan a traitor for attempting to destroy the party.

Jagan Reddy's party says Class 10 results rushed, seeks Nara Lokesh's resignation

The party is demanding his resignation, saying thousands of students were unfairly marked and their futures put at YSRCP Student Wing submitted a complaint to the School Education Commissioner in Mangalagiri, accusing the government of rushing the evaluation process and forcing teachers to check papers in just seven days. As a result, many top-performing students were shown as several cases, students who were initially given very low marks, like 21 or 26, saw their scores jump to over 80 and 90 after re-verification, claimed YSRCP. 'Nara Lokesh must take moral responsibility and resign.' The leaders also demanded free re-evaluation, refunds, and a public apology to the affected students and their Hyderabad, former Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh also attacked the government, saying the fast-tracked evaluation, completed in just 21 days, was done to help corporate colleges start JEE and NEET coaching early. He called it a move that put profits over said errors were found in more than 30 per cent of the re-evaluated answer scripts, with marks jumping from 30 to even 93 in some cases. He demanded that admissions to IIITs, polytechnics, and other schools be paused until revaluation is also accused the current government of reversing earlier reforms like Nadu-Nedu and the IB curriculum, which aimed to help poor and rural students. Lalu Prasad wants to see his son who failed Class 9 become King of Bihar: Prashant Kishor
Ahead of the Assembly election in Bihar, Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) founder Prashant Kishor took a jibe at Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad and his son, former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, stating that Mr. Prasad wants his 'son who did not pass Class 9' to become the 'King of Bihar'. Mr. Kishor has been criss-crossing the State for his Bihar Badalv yatra (journey for change in Bihar) and raising issue of unemployment among youth. Mr. Kishor founded the Jan Suraaj on October 2, 2024 to offer a 'political alternative' to the people and had said he would contest the upcoming election. 'We need to learn from Laluji how to worry about children. His son did not pass Class 9, but he is so worried about his child that he wants him to become the 'King of Bihar'. When we say this, people say we complain about him. No, we are praising Laluji... but you should look at your condition, your child has passed school and has graduated as well, but he still is not getting a job, even as a peon,' the former political strategist told a crowd at Siwan on Thursday (June 5, 2025). Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to address a public meeting in Siwan on June 20. The Assembly election is due in October-November. On June 4, while addressing a public rally in neighbouring Saran district, Mr, Kishor had said that the 'strong response to his rallies shows the sheer frustration of the people over corruption in Bihar and reflects a collective desire for change'. A recent pre-poll survey had suggested that Mr. Kishor's political graph is rising. 'My popularity shows the growing aspiration of people who want to see real change in Bihar,' he said, adding, 'The people who have gathered here are not my relatives, nor are they from my caste. They come from diverse sections of society but what unites them is their shared frustration with the corruption that plagues Bihar. There is a collective desire for change.' In the bye-elections to four seats in Bihar in November 2024, the newly formed Jan Suraaj Party drew a blank, though it had garnered 10% of votes. The ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates won all four, with the Bharatiya Janata Party winning Ramgarh and Tarari seats, the Janata Dal (United) bagging Belaganj and the former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi–led Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) securing Imamganj. Jan Suraaj candidates were instrumental in the defeat of Opposition RJD candidates in their strongholds of Ramgarh and Belaganj. Mr. Kishor plans to cover all Assembly constituencies over the next 120 days before the election begins. Throughout his yatra, he has urged people to vote for 'change'. The upcoming Assembly election would be a pitched battle between the NDA, which includes the BJP, JD(U), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), HAM(S) and the Upendra Kushwaha-led Rashtriya Lok Samata Party and the Mahagathbandhan (grand alliance) comprising the RJD, Congress, Left parties and the Mukesh Sahani-led Vikasheel Insaan Party. Mr. Kishor has attempted to position himself as the third political alternative for voters. In May 2025, former close aide of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and former Union Minister R.C.P. Singh had merged his party, the Aap Sabki Aawaz, with Jan Suraaj. 'Some fence sitters may join hands with Mr. Kishor in the coming days,' said political analyst Nawal Kishor Choudhary.
