Ireland clinched a 63-run victory on a tense final day in the one-off Test against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo as Matthew Humphreys' seven-wicket match haul proved crucial.Zimbabwe started day five requiring 109 runs for victory as they chased 292 but left-arm spinner Humphreys dismissed Newman Nyamhuri for the addition of only five runs.Crucially Humphreys then bowled Wesley Madhevere for 85 in what a massive blow to the hosts' hopes of chasing down the Ireland tally.That left Zimbabwe still requiring 73 runs for victory but they only added 10 more before Andy McBrine's dismissal of Richard Ngarava secured a third straight Test win for Ireland.The Irish defeated Zimbabwe in Belfast last July which came four months after their first Test triumph over Afghanistan in Abu Dhabi.Ireland's latest victory looked unlikely on day won as they slumped to 31-5 but McBrine's unbeaten 90 and 78 from Mark Adair helped the tourists regroup and they largely controlled the remainder of the contest.More to follow.

Andy Farrell's Lions squad is Irish heavy but Genge is one of a number of Englishman in the squad and was a standout during Friday night's disappointing loss to Argentina in Dublin. The Bristol Bears star has been a divisive character and is known for his aggression. Sheehan admits he is someone he and the Irish would target when they clash in the Six Nations. But those battles are put aside this summer with the whole squad embracing each other. Sheehan said: 'It's mad how fast you can go from despising people to hanging around to go for a coffee with them! It's probably just that rugby blokes are good blokes, you can turn on the hatred when you want it. 'Genge is obviously a passionate, animated player for England and someone who we, as Ireland, would consider as a talisman and someone, in an Irish jersey, we'd need to target. 'He's one person you enjoy having on the team. And he's a funny bloke off the pitch. I think everyone loves him. You can see the passion he brings to meetings, to pitch straight in and scrum. He's one person you enjoy having on your side now. He's very real and says it how it is. He's definitely someone that surprises you that he's not a d***head.' Genge has long been loved and admired by those who know him intimately. Footage has showed the English star taking a leadership role before Friday's clash, barking orders during the team huddle in the dressing room. Sheehan watched on for that clash given he had just played in a final with Leinster six days earlier, which saw them win the URC. The Ireland hooker has recently become the forward with the most tries in Six Nations history such is his quality in attack. He is likely to get his first run out on Saturday when the Lions play their first match on Australian soil against the Western Force in Perth - something he is relishing. He said: 'I feel sometimes if you haven't played yet you feel like a bit of an imposter. I want to feel I can contribute to the jersey just as others have had their chance.'

Ruhan Pretorius and Ben Calitz lead the Northern Knights' charge in inter-pro win over Munster
Ireland white-ball captain Paul Stirling returned to form with a 33-ball 40 (four fours, two sixes), while Cade Carmichael continued his consistent vein of form with a 34. Josh Manley's two wickets had the contest very much in the balance at 101 for five in the 15th over, but the complexion of the game changed entirely with the arrival of Pretorius to join Calitz. The pair pummelled the Munster attack, sharing a stand of 75, of which 73 came from the last five overs. Pretorius cleared the ropes three times and also hit four boundaries in a 20-ball 40, while Calitz almost matched him blow for blow in an 18-ball unbeaten 34 (four fours, one six) as they took 23 from the final over bowled by Liam McCarthy in a final Knights total of 177 for six. Munster hopes rested on the shoulders of Stephen Doheny, who was the Knights nemesis in Cork with a competition record 150. What a difference a week makes as this time he was dismissed by stand-in skipper Matthew Humphreys for 0, well caught by James McCollum. Kian Hilton made a quick-fire 35 but at 62 for four just before the midway point, Munster were well behind the required rate. John McNally showed why he is so highly rated in Irish circles with a top-score of 38, adding 58 for the fifth wicket with Sulieman Safi (26), but just as they looked to be threatening a late charge, Pretorius broke the stand, quickly followed by Humphreys' second wicket which accounted for McNally. The only downside for the hosts was the failure to secure a bonus point, as late runs from McCarthy and Zubair Khan brought the winning margin down to just 25 runs, ending on 152 for six. In the first match of the day, leaders Leinster Lightning secured their fourth consecutive bonus-point victory to extend their lead at the top. The Warriors had started well with the opening duo of Andy Balbirnie and Sam Topping (25) adding 64 in eight overs. The dismissal of Balbirnie for a top-score of 44 (six fours) was the turning point in the contest as 78 for one suddenly saw a flurry of wickets and at 89 for five, the Warriors were in trouble. They consolidated to finish at 143 for eight, with two wickets for the impressive duo of Barry McCarthy and Matthew Hollard. Leinster set about the chase in positive fashion with openers Tim Tector (34) and Chris de Freitas (22) adding 63 before both fell in consecutive balls. Any hopes the Warriors entertained of a collapse were quickly dispelled as the international duo of Harry Tector and Lorcan Tucker set about their attack. They shared an unbroken third-wicket stand of 84 in 49 balls, with both making 39. Tucker was especially destructive hitting three maximums and two fours in his 21-ball knock, while Tector's 28-ball innings included three fours and one six, sealing the eight-wicket win in the 16th over. The final day of the Stormont series starts on Thursday with the Warriors facing Munster while in the afternoon match, the Northern Knights will be hoping to close the gap at the top with leaders Leinster Lightning. Meanwhile, on the lower ground at Stormont, the Under-15 girls' inter-provincial series began with a clash between the two Ulster sides. The North West scored 138 for four, with Mansi Bhavsar and Jodie Spence both scoring an impressive 47 in a fourth-wicket stand of 84. Ella Wasson then went and took three wickets, with a further two apiece for Erin Mowbray, Anna McGurk and Mansi Bhavsar to clinch a convincing 68-run win.

Hotazhell in the mix for stellar renewal of Eclipse
Jessica Harrington is on weather watch, as she eyes a drop of rain which will allow Irish 2,000 Guineas third Hotazhell to step up in trip for Sandown's Coral-Eclipse on Saturday week. The son of Too Darn Hot excelled as a juvenile, winning four times and ending the year with Group One honours when edging out Aidan O'Brien's Delacroix at Doncaster in the Futurity Trophy. After missing his intended return in the Poule d'Essai des Poulains on account of fast ground at ParisLongchamp, Hotazhell was a respectable third behind impressive winner Field Of Gold when making his belated reappearance in Classic company at the Curragh. Harrington is now keen to move up in distance for what could be a mouthwatering Eclipse – for which Ombudsman, Sosie, Camille Pissaro are all pencilled in – but would also have no issue forgoing a trip to Esher to wait for future battles if no rain arrives. 'At the moment the plan is to go to the Eclipse with Hotazhell,' said Harrington. 'We're just hoping the weather might break next week in England and we get some rain and the idea would be to go to the Eclipse, but the weather will dictate as we don't want firm ground. 'He could have gone to France this weekend for a Group Two (Prix Eugene Adam), but we might as well wait and there are also plenty of races in the autumn for him. 'He ran very well at the Curragh and that was his first run of the year and a mile and two will be fine for him.'
