NJ man was drunk, driving 69 mph in 25 mph zone before fatal crash, court papers say
CARTERET - A borough man was allegedly intoxicated and speeding more than 40 miles per hour over the 25 mph speed limit when he crashed head-on with another vehicle on Roosevelt Avenue, killing the driver, a 34-year-old Woodbridge woman, according to court documents.
Jair Montero-Moran, 23, was arrested last month and charged with first-degree aggravated manslaughter and second-degree vehicular homicide in connection with the death of Cristina Flores of the Avenel section of Woodbridge.
Around 9:55 p.m. Jan. 11 Carteret police and emergency services personnel responded to a two-vehicle crash in the area of the West Carteret Bridge on Roosevelt Avenue.
When first responders arrived they found a gray Toyota Camry and a gray Infiniti, both with extensive damage to the front of the vehicles consistent with a high speed head-on crash, according to court records.
A police investigation indicates the Camry, driven by Montero-Moran, crossed over the roadway and collided head-on with the Infiniti, driven by Flores. Flores was pronounced dead at the scene, the prosecutor's office said.

Court records show the data recorder in the Camry indicate the vehicle was traveling 69 mph right before the crash. The speed limit on the roadway is 25 mph.
Medical records for Montero-Moran indicate his blood alcohol level was above the legal limit at the time of the crash, court records state.
At the time of the crash at the time Flores was leaving her parents' home in Carteret and heading home to Avenel where she lived with her grandparents.

TERREBONNE PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A 6-year-old and a 12-year-old are dead following a crash that happened in Terrebonne Parish on Thursday afternoon, June 5. Adair County: Driver more than triple the legal limit arrested
Jun. 4—Osvaldo Moran-Salas, 22, of Des Moines, was taken into custody 12:50 a.m. May 25, in Adair on the charge of driving while barred. According to an Adair Police report, at approximately 11:54 p.m May 24, Moran-Salas was observed driving a John Deere Gator UTV with no headlights or taillights on Delta Ave/Fifth Street. The UTV pulled into the Casey's General Store in Adair and Moran-Salas exited from the driver's position. His information was ran and he was found to have a barred license. Moran-Salas was transported to the Adair County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond. — — — — — Tracey M. Fazio, 57, of Des Moines, was taken into custody 9:45 p.m. May 26, at the westbound rest area of Interstate 80 in Adair on the charge of OWI, first offense and issued a citation for open container. According to an Iowa State Patrol report, at approximately 6:45 p.m. a 2009 Pontiac G6 pulled into the the rest area and hit a semi-trailer. The Pontiac had been previously reported for erratic driving. When troopers arrived at the rest area, the Pontiac was still making contact with the semi, but neither had reportable damage. Contact was made with the driver of the Pontiac, identified as Fazio, who had slurred, thick-tongued speech and required assistance when walking to the patrol car. The odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected coming from the vehicle. Fazio handed troopers an open bottle of Southern Comfort that was approximately two-thirds empty. She admitted the bottle was full when she started drinking. Fazio consented to field sobriety testing during which clues of impairment were observed. She consented to a PBT, which indicated her BrAC to be .286%. Fazio was transported to the Adair County Jail where she consented to provide a breath sample for testing. Foster was cited and released on a summons to appear.

A man drove into traffic. He was trying to kill his wife, court docs say.
A central North Carolina man is facing multiple charges after he drove into oncoming traffic and caused an intentional head-on crash in an attempt to kill his spouse, according to court documents. At least three people were injured in the crash, including his wife, reported television stations WRAL-TV and WNCN. The extent of their injuries was not immediately clear on June 4, but USA TODAY had reached out to officials for more information. The man, 33-year-old Andersen Singleton, is facing at least six charges for an incident that happened on May 31, according to court documents filed in Wake County District Court and obtained by USA TODAY.. His charges include one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to inflict serious injury, one count of reckless driving to endanger, one count of injury to personal property, and one count of driving left of a center lane, per online court records. Singleton has also been charged with assaulting, stalking, or threatening his spouse, per court records obtained by USA TODAY. Singleton is being held with no bond and has been ordered to stay 300 feet away from his spouse's home, school, or job as well. Singleton waived his right to court-appointed counsel on June 2, the North Carolina Judicial Branch confirmed to USA TODAY on June 4. He can hire his own attorney, but no one has made an appearance on his behalf as of June 4, the branch said The crash happened just before 6 a.m. on May 31, reported WNCN. In the redacted court documents, officials allege that on May 31, Singleton was driving a Toyota Camry with the victim also in the vehicle. According to authorities, Singleton assaulted the victim "with a motor vehicle by intentionally crashing into oncoming traffic, a deadly weapon, with the intent to kill him." Authorities also said Singleton's actions led to damage totaling more than $200. 'The bomber had help': Arrest made in Palm Springs fertility clinic explosion Jorge Bravo saw Singleton crash the vehicle and captured the footage on his dashboard camera, reported WRAL-TV. The footage shows the Toyota Camry crash head-on into an oncoming vehicle, which had two people inside. Bravo said after the impact, he went over to help and spoke to Singleton. "He was telling me how he was trying to kill himself and his wife because they were constantly fighting,' Bravo told WRAL-TV. He also said something else to Bravo, the witness told another outlet, WNCN. "We're definitely going to the psych ward," Bravo said, quoting Singleton. 'I thought that was a very interesting thing for him to just kind of blurt out. He's just … confessing all of this.'
