New Delhi: Call it the need of the hour, a growing number of companies are extending AI training to all employees, rather than a select few, as they seek to stay relevant in the ongoing AI-driven transformation. These include top corporates such as Vedanta Group Schneider Electric , Accenture India, Sap Labs India, Indian Energy Exchange , Sterlite Electric, Resonia, and Serentica Renewables. Some are working in phases to cover their entire workforces.Vedanta is searching for an AI specialist to implement the latest technologies and AI capabilities at the natural resources company. It is also in the process of setting up an AI & digital R&D innovation centre. Schneider Electric is introducing 30 minutes "AI for all" training for all 150,000 employees.SAP Labs India, which upskilled half of its workforce in AI, is now moving forward to train the remainder. Accenture has identified 14 future-fit data and AI practitioner skills for the gen AI era.Globally, Accenture has steadily expanded its data and AI workforce to around 72,000, pushing with its goal of 80,000 by this FY26-end."Success with AI and generative AI requires investing in people as much as in technology," said Mukesh Chaudhary, lead-data and AI, advanced technology centers global network and global delivery lead for data at Accenture.The firm is coaching its AI/ML engineers, gen AI developers, and architects on agentic AI, said Chaudhary.Vedanta is upskilling both functional and leadership roles on AI across operations. "As a leading critical minerals, energy and technology company, we see AI as a key enabler for operational excellence, sustainability, and value creation," said Madhu Srivastava, CHRO, Vedanta. Specific roles include plant managers, process engineers, analysts, automation leads, digital transformation officers, and frontline P&L leaders. Vedanta is giving priority to skills in AI/ML, predictive analytics, generative AI, digital twins, and intelligent automation."We have committed significant investments towards building internal AI & Digital R&D centre, partnerships with global firms & platforms," she said.The R&D wing of SAP, SAP Labs India has multiple skilling programmes like Learning Fest and Joule Agentic Acceleration to equip employees with AI capabilities that can be applied to build real-life solutions, said MD Sindhu Gangadharan, also the chairperson of industry body Nasscom. It also has 'AI Foundation'-an upskilling programme for developers to get hands-on AI expertise. SAP Labs India has over 17,000 employees.Meanwhile, companies are also partnering with institutes. For instance, Accenture is collaborating with IIM Bangalore and IIIT Bangalore.To prepare for the AI-driven transformation, Indian Energy Exchange has adopted a structured, two-phased approach to upskill its staff. In the first phase, all employees will be introduced to foundational concepts of AI and gen AI, along with real-world applications, said Brijesh Narang, vice president, HR.The second phase will focus on function-specific training. In this phase, targeted programmes will be delivered to different strategic business units, Narang said.Role-based AI learning journeys tailored for project managers, engineers, and business analysts will soon be rolled out at Sterlite Electric, Resonia, and Serentica Renewables, said Ruhie Pande, group CHRO. "These will focus on real-world applications such as predictive maintenance, AI-assisted trading, and data-driven decision making."Sterlite Electric is actively investing in AI upskilling through platforms like Sterlite Electric Learning Academy and Sterlite Electric Projects Academy. These are helping employees with foundational and role-specific AI capabilities, she said.Schneider Electric is upskilling its employees on AI through the "Data & AI Upskilling@Scale" programme to familiarise its 150,000 global employees with AI.

The Idea of knowing, realising the self within is the essence of the idea of being a Bhartiya and so, besides IQ, education must awaken Viveka-buddhi to look inwards to know the Self. Knowing our Self: i) Consciousness is Brahman (God)', Pragyanam Brahman; ii) We ask: Where is it? 'You are That', Tat twam asi; iii) I reflect and realise that when I separate myself from the 'ever-changing Body-mind, all that is matter', then I experience 'This Atman in me is Brahman', 'Ayam Atma Brahman'; iv) I reflect, what is Brahman? Who is this 'I' and 'You'? How are or how can they be one? In essence, I have to realise 'I am Brahman', 'Aham Brahmasmi'; I realise it when I stop looking at 'name-forms'. I first realise I am Brahman. Then I expand to realise I am all that exists; 'Sarvam khalvidam Brahman'. Reflection: That which exists can never cease to exist; nor can non-existence ever come into existence. 'I' exist. So, 'I' is the consciousness, Brahman, is our unchanging reality! Therefore, see and serve God in man and in all beings. This is work as worship and it gradually purifies the mind and we grow to experience the power, wisdom, bliss of self. Because we the English-speaking ruling elite are ignorant of this essence of being a Bhartiya, we've allowed narrow-minded preachers and pundits to teach of my vs your god, an unknown entity who has been shut up and is jailed in places of worship or somewhere in heaven! 4. Essence of education and religions is to establish us in daily self-development practices, Life-skills, to learn and imbibe commitment to selfless kartavya-palan. A few will become competent as seekers with vivek, self-control, burning desire for higher truths. They will appreciate and as mentors of society will teach others of the truth that the great infinite truth we're seeking is consciousness; the supreme truth, is right within our innermost self; being the subtlest of all, is all pervasive, present everywhere, I am pure consciousness'. To make the Bharatiya, education must provide opportunities, inspiration, know-how, for reflections & life-skills to imbibe the spirit of Karma Yoga (KY) and constitutional Fundamental Duties (FD), which is in accordance with GOI's instructions that all Govt. servants are to be trained to be Karma Yogi. GOI has also envisioned the G20 Global Vision of 'One World. One Family. One Future'. Earlier, GOI has declared Vivekananda as National Youth Icon. His ideas on practical Vedanta and Karma Yoga, expressed in inspiring English, offer us the best opportunity to evolve a course for mainstream schooling to appreciate the GOI vision. Various inter-faith NGOs are working to make good human beings, and they must learn to work together with academia to plan how we can together make enlightened citizens. Hindustan Zinc declares Rs 10/share interim dividend, totalling Rs 4,225 cr
Vedanta group firm Hindustan Zinc Ltd on Wednesday declared an interim dividend of Rs 10 per share, amounting to Rs 4,225 crore for the current fiscal year. The decision was taken at the company's board meeting, according to a BSE filing. "The board of directors of the company, through a resolution passed by circulation on Wednesday... has approved the first interim dividend of Rs 10 per equity share i.e. 500 per cent on face value of Rs 2 per equity share for the financial year 2025-26," it said. In the last fiscal year, the Hindustan Zinc distributed dividends to the tune of Rs 12,250 crore, the company said in a statement. "This was through two dividends of Rs 19 and Rs 10," it said. Hindustan Zinc is among the high-dividend-yield large-cap metal companies. With the first interim dividend for FY26, the dividend receipts for the government total nearly Rs 1,180 crore, it said. The company contributes nearly 35 per cent of the declared dividend to the government treasury, including dividend to government and tax deducted at source (TDS). The company is also planning to double its silver production to 1,500-2,000 metric tonnes and is setting up a fertiliser plant in Rajasthan. Hindustan Zinc has recently secured critical mineral blocks, including potash and halite in Rajasthan, rare earth elements in Uttar Pradesh, and tungsten in Andhra Pradesh. The company reported a 47.3 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 3,003 crore during the March quarter on the back of higher income. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 2,038 crore in the year-ago period. Income of the company during the March quarter increased to Rs 9,314 crore from Rs 7,822 crore in the year-ago period, as per the the filing to the BSE. Hindustan Zinc is the world's largest integrated zinc producer and is among the top five silver producers globally. The company supplies to more than 40 countries and holds a market share of about 77 per cent of the primary zinc market in India.

Dividend stocks: Hindustan Zinc, a subsidiary of metals and mining major Vedanta, on Wednesday, June 11, announced an interim dividend of ₹ 10, amounting to a 500% payout considering the face value of ₹ 2. '… we wish to inform you that the Board of Directors of the Company through a resolution passed by circulation on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 12:56 pm, have approved the first Interim Dividend of ₹ 10 per equity share i.e. 500% on face value of ₹ 2/- per equity share for the Financial Year 2025-26,' Hindustan Zinc said in a filing to the exchanges. Hindustan Zinc, in an earlier update, has already communicated the record date for the purpose of the interim dividend. The company had fixed Tuesday, June 17, 2025, as the record date to identify shareholders eligible to receive the first interim dividend, the company said. It added that the dividend shall be duly paid within the stipulated timelines as prescribed under law. Hindustan Zinc's parent Vedanta will receive a windfall of ₹ 2,679.54 crore from the recent announcement of a ₹ 10 dividend. Meanwhile, the Government of India will receive around ₹ 1,180 crore as dividend. The latest dividend brings back the spotlight on Hindustan Zinc's dividend history. The company, which has a decent dividend yield of 3.54%, has announced dividends amounting to ₹ 19 in the past 12 months, according to Trendlyne data. The last dividend announced by the company was of ₹ 19, with the record date of August 28, 2024. After surging for four straight sessions amid a rally in silver prices to record high, Hindustan Zinc share price took a breather on Wednesday, June 11, shedding 2.3% of its value. Prior to this, the dividend stock Hindustan Zinc had risen nearly 14% in just four day. The BSE 200 stock declined to the day's low of ₹ 520.90 during the intra-day session today. So far in 2025, Hindustan Zinc stock is up 17%; however, in the last one year it has lost 25% of its value. On a longer time frame of five years, the stock has delivered multibagger gains, surging 202%.
