Christian Craig is scheduled to return to the SuperMotocross League at Birmingham

NBC Sports19-03-2025
Christian Craig will return to action this weekend in Round 10 of the Monster Energy Supercross season at Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Alabama.
Craig sat out the first half of the Supercross season to recover from ACL surgery. He suffered the injury in the SuperMotocross World Championship finale in Las Vegas, Nevada, saying at the time: 'Not the news I want to share but also not the end of the world. In the very last race of the year, I went off the track after the sand section and when I was reentering the track, I slid and dabbed my leg. Didn't even fall. Unfortunately, surgery was the best option to get it fixed up the right way.'
Dan Beaver,
This marks a return to Yamaha after two seasons with Husqvarna, during which his best championship effort netted an eighth in last year's Pro Motocross season. Craig made only six rounds of the 2024 Supercross season before he was sidelined following a 12th-place finish in Glendale, Arizona. His best result in the playoffs was a pair of 14th-place finishes at zMax Dragway in Concord, North Carolina, and Texas Motor Speedway in Forth Worth, Texas.
Craig signed a two-year agreement with Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing last October as a 450 rider and coach for the 250 team.

Patriots beat Vikings 20-12 as rookies Henderson and Chism each record another preseason TD

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — New England rookies TreVeyon Henderson and Efton Chism III each had another preseason touchdown, and the Patriots beat the Minnesota Vikings 20-12 on Saturday. Henderson, the second-round draft pick from national champion Ohio State who's been turning heads in training camp and tracking toward a prominent role in the backfield, rushed for 20 yards with an 8-yard score on four carries during a two-drive stint for the first-team offense. Henderson had a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown last week. The Patriots held a handful of projected starters out, including four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who's returning from a torn ACL in his right knee suffered halfway through his lone season with the Houston Texans. Second-year quarterback Drake Maye started against an all-backups Vikings defense and went 4 for 7 for 46 yards with a delay-of-game penalty and an overthrow that was nearly intercepted but dropped by Tavierre Thomas. Chism made another compelling case for a regular-season roster spot with six receptions from backup QB Joshua Dobbs for 71 yards and a score. He caught a short throw on third-and-9 from the 12 and broke six tackle attempts as he twisted and muscled his way into the end zone. With Diggs, DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte and veterans Kendrick Bourne and Mack Hollins on the Patriots' roster, there might be only one opening for a wide receiver. Chism, who was undrafted out of Eastern Washington, will certainly get a long look. He had a 12-yard touchdown catch last week. Vikings play it safe The two teams had two days of joint practices this week, providing plenty of valuable tests for players in situational drills in a controlled setting, and Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell was more than satisfied with the work. Not a single projected starter on either side of the ball suited up for Minnesota, and several key backups who are locks to make the team were given the afternoon off, too. New quarterback J.J. McCarthy, who led one 12-play drive last week, wore an earpiece on the sideline while Sam Howell started. Howell, who was acquired in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks in April after the veteran backup market dried up, went 1 for 5 with an interception he forced off his back foot under pressure. Undrafted rookie Max Brosmer, who has been the best of the backups in camp, went 15 for 27 for 156 yards while playing the whole second half. His final throw from the 13-yard line on the last play of the game was tipped and intercepted in the end zone by Kyle Dugger. ___

Broncos' updated depth chart for preseason game vs. Cardinals

The Denver Broncos are set to face the Arizona Cardinals in their second preseason game tonight (Aug. 16). Ahead of that matchup, the Broncos released an updated depth chart, but fans should take it with a grain of salt. NFL rules require the team to release a depth chart during preseason. It has become clear over the last two years, though, that coach Sean Payton does not take the preseason depth chart very seriously, and he only releases it because the team is required to. Denver calls it an "unofficial" depth chart, despite it coming straight from the team. This year, Payton has continued his trend of making rookies prove their worth by placing them below veterans across the depth chart. So, while keeping in mind that it should be taken with a grain of salt, here's a look at the Broncos' "unofficial" depth chart going into Week 2 of NFL preseason. Denver Broncos Depth Chart Quarterback (3) No surprises on the quarterback depth chart. Stidham will serve as the primary backup again this season, and Ehlinger might be bumped down to the practice squad when the 53-man roster is set at the end of preseason. Running back (6) It wouldn't be shocking to see the Broncos carry four running backs on the active roster. Don't read into Harvey being listed as RB6 on the initial list -- Payton's initial depth charts are never kind to rookies. Tight end/fullback (7) Engram is the team's top receiving threat at the position, and Trautman is safe as a blocking TE. Burton is back as the team's fullback, and Adkins fills a hybrid role. Krull, Lohner and Prieskorn might be competing for one final spot. Wide receiver (12) If the Broncos plan to carry six receivers on the 53-man roster, the favorites are pretty easy to project. But everyone will get an opportunity to impress this summer. Offensive line (16) All five starting offensive linemen from last year are returning, so the competitions will be for the backup spots this summer. The interior backups will be asked to play both guard and center, and the backup tackles should be able to play on the left and right in a pinch. Defensive line (10) Third-round pick Sai'vion Jones improves the team's depth, and Eyioma Uwazurike will look to have a breakthrough campaign in his second season back from a gambling suspension. Outside linebacker (7) Denver's already-deep room got even deeper this spring when the team drafted Robinson, but his biggest contributions might come on special teams as a rookie. Inside linebacker (9) The inside linebacker competition will be fascinating to watch this summer. Singleton is coming back from a torn ACL, and he'll turn 32 in December. Bailey has impressed early in camp, so he'll be a key player to watch in preseason. Cornerback (10) Again, don't read into Barron being buried as a rookie. He is likely set to serve as the team's nickelback this season with McMillian providing depth. Safety (8) It's hard to predict how the safety room will shake out, but there are several contenders to win a spot on the active roster based on their special teams contributions. Special teams (3) Jackson will be a UDFA to watch this summer as he'll potentially get a good amount of reps both at receiver and on special teams. Denver will trim the roster down to 53 players by Aug. 26, then the club will build a 16- or 17-player practice squad. Last year, the team's initial practice squad included Burton, Tillman, Bailey and Badie. Social: Follow Broncos Wire on Facebook and Twitter/X! Did you know: These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans.

Michael Pittman Jr. fantasy football preview 2025: Stats, season outlook, predictions

Rotoworld Staff, Michael Pittman Jr. 2025 Fantasy Preview 2024: Pittman became the 1B option to Josh Downs' 1A in 2024. It wasn't all bad though. Pittman went for 69 grabs and 808 yards along with three scores in the run-heavy Indy offense, functioning as a decent WR3 in fantasy. With Downs in the mix, Pittman saw his per-route efficiency drop dramatically in 2024. What's changed: The Colts signed QB Daniel Jones this offseason. He's expected to be the team's Week 1 starter with Anthony Richardson recovering from his second shoulder surgery in two years. Outlook: Pittman should see a bump in pass volume this season if Jones seizes the Colts' starting QB job. Richardson finding his way into the starting gig would be a big blow for Pittman. Jones has been among the league's most accurate intermediate passers over the past three seasons. That could work out well for Pittman, who feasts on targets in the intermediate areas of the field.
