‘He's going to leave' – Lewis Hamilton tipped for shock Ferrari exit after saying he expected ‘painful' season ahead
LEWIS HAMILTON has been tipped to shockingly quit Ferrari.
The seven-time world champion is still waiting for his first podium finish this season amid a tough start to life at his new team.

But despite being just five races into his two-year deal, Red Bull's former Toro Rosso driver Jaime Alguersuari reckons Hamilton will quit Ferrari.
Alguersuari, who featured in 46 F1 races between 2009 and 2011, told the After Lap Podcast: "I have the feeling that Hamilton, he's going to leave.
"I don't know why I'm taking a risk by saying this.
"But I have the feeling that he's like, his time has passed, that he's already won a lot, that he's already won everything and that he's saying: 'OK, I've gone to Ferrari to try and see what happens in 2026.'"
Ferrari last won a constructors' title 17 years ago and Alguersuari seemed to suggest joining them was a poor move for Hamilton if he wants to surpass Michael Schumacher 's seven world titles.
He added: " Ferrari is not a winning team. A team is a team that wins races, but it is not a winning team. They have not won since 2008.
"They may have a competitive car, they may have a competitive team, but they don't have a winning team. There is a difference."

The Brit revealed he did "not have an answer" as to why things are going wrong at the moment.
He claimed there were "zero" positives and that the race was "horrible" and "not enjoyable".
Hamilton went on to say: "At the moment, there's no fix. This is how it's going to be for the rest of the year. It's just going to be painful."

Lando will have to show his character to overcome this kind of episode and make sure that he only takes the learnings to become a stronger driver.' Norris was already on the backfoot heading into Sunday's race following two mistakes in qualifying which left him seventh on the grid. He drove well to bring himself back into contention only to misjudge the move on Piastri which again raises questions over his credentials as a legitimate championship contender. Nico Rosberg, who competed against Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes for three seasons – eventually beating the British driver to the world title in what would prove his final act in the sport in 2016 – believes Norris is facing a dark period. Reflecting on his own mental battles as he duelled for the title, Rosberg told Sky Sports: 'It becomes a little bit traumatic because you start spiralling negatively down and down, and you get this repetition of, 'I'm making mistakes, and I'm not good enough,' and it starts to get to you in your head. 'It can get really dark, and I've been through this, especially when you make a mistake like today where everybody can see it, you even hit your team-mate, so your whole team is thinking, 'What's going on?' It will be difficult for Lando to get back out of that.' Norris will be back in action a week on Sunday in Austria for the 11th round of 24. But despite his latest setback, he said: 'There are plenty more races left. I don't expect to catch Oscar easily. I have to work hard for it and make less mistakes than I did this weekend.'

Red Bull warned FIA of potential trickery against Verstappen
MONTREAL, June 16 (Reuters) - Red Bull spoke to Formula One's governing body before the Canadian Grand Prix to warn them that Max Verstappen's rivals might try and lure the Dutch driver into a one-race ban, according to team boss Christian Horner. Four-times world champion Verstappen arrived in Montreal with 11 penalty points on his super licence, following a collision with Mercedes' George Russell in Spain, and 12 triggering an automatic suspension. He will not shed any points until after Austria, Red Bull's home race, on June 29. Horner revealed after Sunday's race that Red Bull spoke to race director Rui Marques after a drivers' meeting on Friday to express their concern and ask him to watch out for any potential trickery. "I think that it was inevitable that there was going to be some potential gamesmanship," Horner told reporters. "It's something that we raised after the driver's briefing with the race director, just so that they were mindful of it as well, because it was clear that that kind of stuff goes on. "We just said to him 'Look, could they please keep an eye on it because there's been obviously comments have been raised in the media'." Russell said after qualifying on pole that he had more penalty points to play with than Verstappen and that could work to his advantage. After the Briton won on Sunday, with Verstappen second, Red Bull protested. A subsequent stewards document rejecting the protest revealed that Red Bull had claimed unsportsmanlike behaviour by Russell when the safety car was deployed. Red Bull argued that Russell braked unnecessarily and erratically behind the safety car along the back straight and complained over the team radio that Verstappen had gone past when not allowed to. Red Bull said the radio message "displayed unsportsmanlike intent" and Russell's braking had taken Verstappen by surprise, leaving him no alternative but to overtake momentarily. They also suggested that onboard cameras showed Russell looking in his mirrors before braking "to force (Verstappen) to overtake to force an infringement." Russell denied it, said he was not trying to force an investigation and Mercedes pointed out they had not lodged any complaint. The stewards accepted there had been no unsportsmanlike conduct. Russell and Verstappen have a simmering rivalry and Red Bull have protested twice in the space of five races against the Mercedes driver.
