Mumbai: K Krithivasan, the chief executive and managing director of India's largest IT services company TCS, took home a remuneration of Rs 26.52 crore in FY25. The CEO's remuneration package increased by 4.6 per cent in the fiscal year, said the TCS annual report released on Tuesday.The remuneration is nearly 330 times the median salary paid by the company to its 6.07 lakh employees, as per the annual report. Krithivasan's compensation included a salary of Rs 1.39 crore, Rs 2.13 crore in benefits, perquisites and allowances and a commission of Rs 23 crore, it said.Chief financial officer Samir Seksaria saw a 7.8 per cent increase in the overall remuneration, as per the report.The average annual increase for employees' remuneration came in between 5.5 to 7.5 per cent, after factoring-in promotions, the company said, adding that 1.1 lakh employees were promoted during the year.In the case of top performers within the country, the hikes went into double digits as well in percentage terms, the company said.The annual report also said that newly appointed president and chief operating officer Aarthi Subramanian will be paid a salary of Rs 10.8 lakh per month.At a time of rapid shifts in technology landscape, the company's expenditure on research and development decreased both in absolute quantum as well as from a share of overall revenues perspective.TCS spent Rs 2,630 crore in R&D and innovation in FY25 as against Rs 2,751 crore in FY24, and the same came down marginally to 1 per cent of total turnover in FY25 from 1.1 per cent in FY24, as per the report.The TCS management said the global economic activity faces headwinds from geopolitical and policy uncertainties, but there are opportunities for resilience and recovery."Clearer trade agreements and improved global cooperation could help regain momentum. However, risks like financial market volatility, demographic shifts, and fiscal constraints persist. Proactive policy responses and innovation-driven growth can help mitigate these pressures," it said.Of the 6.07 lakh employees, 2.14 lakh or 35 per cent were women staff, the company disclosed.There were 125 cases of sexual harassment received during the fiscal year as against 110 in the previous fiscal, the company said, adding that 23 complaints are pending resolution at end-March 2025.

The regulator has taken strict action against several individuals, including actor Arshad Warsi, for their alleged roles in the scheme. Gaurav Gupta emerged as the biggest beneficiary, reportedly making Rs 18.33 crore through the scheme, while Sadhna Bio Oils Pvt. Ltd gained Rs 9.41 crore. SEBI has ordered the recovery of these illegal profits as part of its enforcement measures. SEBI has imposed penalties including a Rs 5 crore fine on Manish Mishra, and Rs 2 crore fines on individuals like Gaurav Gupta. Jatin Manubhai Shah was fined Rs 1 crore. These actions form part of SEBI's wider crackdown on financial fraud. The scheme involved a classic 'pump and dump' tactic, using misleading YouTube videos to inflate SBL's share price before promoters sold their holdings. SEBI's investigation, covering March 8 to November 30, 2022, revealed a paid marketing campaign spreading false content to lure investors. Arshad Warsi, along with his wife and brother, has been barred from the securities market for one year. SEBI found Warsi was involved in the scheme and communicated with Manish Mishra, the key orchestrator, despite Warsi's claims of being unaware of stock market details. SEBI also identified five YouTube channels—The Advisor, Midcap Calls, Profit Yatra, Moneywise, and India Bullish—as involved in spreading misleading information to promote SBL fraudulently. WhatsApp chats showed an intention to transfer Rs 25 lakh each to Warsi and his family members, highlighting the coordinated nature of the scheme. SEBI's final order includes a five-year market ban for seven individuals and a one-year ban for 54 others, underscoring the gravity of the offenses. The regulator's actions demonstrate its commitment to protecting market integrity. Along with fines, SEBI has directed the recovery of Rs 1.05 crore from Warsi and his family, sending a strong message against fraudulent activities in the capital markets. BJP Year 1: Mega rallies to music festivals, party gets ready to celebrate anniversary of Odisha win
Though not entirely unexpected, the BJP's Odisha win last June, dislodging the Naveen Patnaik-led Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government after almost a quarter of a century, marked one of the biggest shifts in the country's political landscape in recent years. Now, the party is preparing to mark one year in office and unveil its roadmap for the next decade by launching a fortnight-long outreach comprising an extensive media blitzkrieg, four mega conventions, and cultural extravaganzas. At the recent NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said an Odisha Vision document would be unveiled on June 12, when his administration completes a year. Top state government sources said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had been invited to grace the occasion. The roadmap to 2036 is important since it marks Odisha's centenary. 'The Odisha Vision document is a comprehensive, actionable and inclusive report with suggestions received from over 3,20,000 people of the state through an online portal and analysed using AI. The Vision Document will be launched on June 12, and I will be personally monitoring its implementation,' Majhi said, adding that the aspiration is to grow the state's economy to $500 billion by 2036 and $1.5 trillion by 2047. The BJP has prepared a narrative to counter whatever the BJD comes up with. 'Our message will be loud and clear. It's about good governance and pro-people policies. We will reach out to the masses with a message on how the works, which couldn't be done in the past 24 years, have been achieved in the past one year,' said a senior BJP leader. The party will highlight, among other things, the 'successful implementation' of Subhadra, a cash-transfer scheme covering around 1 crore women, and the sanctioning of Rs 8,00 per quintal over and above the minimum support price (MSP) for paddy. These were two of its poll promises that received a lot of traction on the ground ahead of the elections. The BJP has also underlined its commitment to social justice by announcing 11.25% reservation for the backward classes in education. The Majhi government is also expected to highlight the launch of the central Ayushman Bharat health scheme, which the BJD had avoided, and the opening of the Puri Jagannath temple's Ratna Bhandar (treasure trove). 'We have also made governance accessible to all by breaking the barrier between the government and the people. The CM and his Cabinet have not just been holding the grievance redress cell meetings regularly, but also taking it to the far-off districts, considered to be neglected areas. During BJD rule, the CM last attended the grievance meeting in August 2008,' said the BJP leader. With the BJP having promised to fill 1.5 lakh government vacancies in five years, the Majhi government has increased the upper age limit for entry into various government services (non-uniform services) from 32 to 42 years. To take its message to people, the BJP has planned four big rallies in different parts of the state, starting with a public meeting in Bhubaneswar, where the government will unveil 365 projects to mark its first anniversary. Several Union Ministers, senior BJP functionaries, and CMs of BJP-ruled states are expected to attend these rallies in Berhampur (focused on women), Bargarh (for farmers), Dhenkanal (for the youth), and Baripada (for tribals). The party is set to kickstart these celebrations starting June 5 with four intellectual meetings focused on journalists, civil society, industry leaders, and public representatives, according to sources. To amplify its message, the government has also decided to deploy campaign vehicles, called Vikas Raths, in all 314 blocks of the state for around a month. Several cultural activities such as theatre, musical festivals, and a student competition on the subject 'Mo Swapna Ra Odisha (Odisha in my dream)' have also been planned, according to BJP insiders. The Opposition, however, is preparing to puncture holes in the ruling party's narrative, pointing out that most of the work it is taking credit for had been completed by the previous government. The Majhi government recently admitted in the Assembly that two dozen schemes of the previous government had been renamed. Targeting the Majhi government, the BJD and the Congress have labelled it a 'remote-control government' for its alleged dependence on New Delhi and are preparing their own outreach initiatives. This is an attempt to turn the tables on the ruling party, which had cornered the BJD over the alleged influence of former IAS officer V K Pandian over then CM Naveen Patnaik in the months leading up to the elections. Majhi has faced difficulty in appointing the heads of various corporations and public sector units, apart from filling six vacancies in his council of ministers. Senior BJD leader Arun Sahoo said the party would reach out to people to highlight the failures of the BJP government on multiple fronts, including a deteriorating law-and-order situation, crime against women, 'misleading' people on the backward classes quota in education, and corruption at the grassroots.

Prices of flats along Delhi's Dwarka Expressway doubled in the last 5 years: report
Prices of flats on the Dwarka Expressway, which connects Dwarka in Delhi to Kherki Daula Toll Plaza in Haryana's Guragaon, have doubled in the last five years — from Rs. 9,434 per square feet in 2020 to Rs. 18,668 per square feet in 2024 — according to a report by real estate data analytics firm PropEquity. The report said as many as 15,994 units were launched in the same period, and 16,502 were purchased. It added that 74 per cent of the flats on the Dwarka Expressway in the last five years came in Sectors 113, 37D, 106, 111, and 103. 'Between 2025 and 2030, over 18,000 units are expected to be launched, and over 15,500 units are expected to be absorbed on the Dwarka Expressway, reinforcing sustained future demand,' Samir Jasuja, Founder and CEO, PropEquity, said. Jasuja also said that 4-bedroom apartments have dominated the market in the last five years, with a price range of Rs 4.8 crore to Rs 8.6 crore According to PropEquity, 42,816 units were available in Dwarka Expressway between 2010-2024, and the number of units sold during this period stood at 41,899. 'With a robust land bank of 53 acres, Signature Global has recently launched over 3 million square feet here, and we have a strong upcoming pipeline of 6.4 million sq ft of saleable area in this location,' Pradeep Aggarwal, Founder and Chairman, Signature Global, said. The 29-km Dwarka Expressway, also called Northern Peripheral Road, was proposed in 2006 by the Haryana Government as an alternative route to National Highway-48, connecting Delhi with Gurgaon. Initially slated to be an 18 km project, 14 km of the expressway was operationalised in 2016. Later, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) took over the project, reworked the alignment and categorised it as a National Highway (NH-248BB). The foundation stone was laid in 2019, and 19 km of the Gurgaon stretch was inaugurated in 2024 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This 8-lane elevated expressway connects Shiv Murti on NH-48 to Dwarka and terminates at Kherki Daula Toll Plaza in Gurgaon, thereby reducing the travel time between cities, IGI Airport, workplaces and entertainment hubs.
