Spurs slumped to a club-record 22nd defeat in the Premier League on Sunday as they closed out the 2024-25 season in all-too-familiar fashion, but Postecoglou's side began brightly less than 48 hours after celebrating the Europa League trophy in an open-top bus parade around north London.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Thomas Frank has said the club 'need to look into' a replacement for James Maddison after his 'devastating' anterior cruciate ligament injury. Frank spoke after Tottenham's friendly 4-0 defeat to Bayern Munich after the club confirmed earlier on Thursday that the 28-year-old midfielder requires surgery on the right knee injury he sustained during Sunday's game against Newcastle United. LONDON (AP) — Chelsea defender Levi Colwill could miss a big portion of the upcoming season after undergoing surgery Thursday for a torn ACL. The 22-year-old center-back, a mainstay in Enzo Maresca's lineups last season, sustained the knee injury early this week in pre-season training, the Premier League club said. 'Levi will now begin his recovery and be supported by the club's medical department at Cobham during his rehabilitation phase,' the team said in a statement. The England international made 35 Premier League starts last season for Chelsea, which qualified for the Champions League.
