She had filed a plea in the Kerala High Court seeking to nullify the victory of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi from the Wayanad Parliamentary Constituency, accusing her of not disclosing critical details during her nomination filing.
In the petition, the BJP leader, who lost against her Congress rival by over five lakh votes, argued that Gandhi's action goes against the Model Code of Conduct and amounts to corrupt practices.
Justice K Babu, while hearing the case, issued the summons and posted the matter to August 2025, according to Bar and Bench.
Advocate Hari Kumar G Nair, who filed the petition on behalf of Haridas, mentioned that the plea sought to set aside Priyanka Gandhi's electoral win as she allegedly suppressed crucial information related to the assets owned by her and her family.
Gandhi achieved her first electoral victory from the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency, garnering 6,22,338 votes. Her opponent, Haridas, finished in third place with 1,09,939 votes.

'The Prime Minister told us that 'vyavhaar (personal conduct)' and 'lokachar (public etiquette)' are what truly connect a leader with people. He asked us to be accessible, patient, and focused on the welfare of every Delhiite,' said a BJP MLA who attended the meeting, asking not to be identified. Another BJP leader, also requesting anonymity, said Modi's address focused not just on policy implementation but also on mindset. 'He encouraged us to be among the people and use every ounce of energy in service. We were reminded that governance isn't a checklist—it's a daily responsibility to improve lives,' the leader said. The BJP returned to power in Delhi after 27 years with a sweeping win in the February 2025 assembly elections. The party won 48 of the 70 seats, unseating the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which had ruled the Capital since 2015. Both Kejriwal and his former deputy Manish Sisodia lost their seats. Since forming the government, chief minister Rekha Gupta has moved quickly to align Delhi's governance with central schemes. The Ayushman Bharat Yojana, the Centre's flagship health insurance scheme, was among the first to be implemented. The Prime Minister has also reviewed progress on the cleaning of the Yamuna—a major campaign priority for the BJP. The meeting came as the BJP marked the 11th anniversary of its National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government and the first year of its third consecutive term at the Centre. In Delhi, the party is celebrating 100 days of its return to power. Ahead of the interaction, BJP MLA from Uttam Nagar Pawan Sharma told PTI, 'PM Modi had envisioned a 'Viksit Bharat, Viksit Delhi' before the elections. That vision is now becoming a reality. Issues such as drinking water, sewage systems and cleanliness that were long ignored are being actively addressed. We met PM Modi to seek his blessings and renew our commitment.'

CPM demands more seats, secy continues tirade against DMK
Chennai: CPM state secretary P Shanmugam has reiterated the party's intent to seek more seats in the DMK alliance in the 2026 assembly election. "Contesting in more seats is as important as being in the DMK front to defeat the BJP alliance," he told reporters in Chennai on Wednesday. The CPM has signalled its desire to contest in more seats in the upcoming election over the past few days. Shanmugam reiterated that CPM will contest in more seats in the 2026 assembly election and that it will not be content with the six seats as in 2021. Nevertheless, Shanmugam said the CPM would continue to be in the DMK front. He said the focus was to keep the BJP alliance away from power in Tamil Nadu. The only party that has the strength to defeat the AIADMK-BJP front was DMK, he said. Shanmugam launched CPM's public campaign in Chennai "to highlight the failures" of Prime minister Narendra Modi-led BJP govt at the Centre in controlling price rise, reducing unemployment and protecting constitutional mandates and federal principles. Addressing reporters on the sidelines of the campaign, Shanmugam continued his critical approach towards the DMK, Shanmugam said he was not sure whether the DMK has fulfilled 98.5% of the poll promises as claimed by DMK MP A Raja. "DMK has not fulfilled its poll promise of providing monthly electricity bills as mentioned in its manifesto. There are many such and how can they say that they have fulfilled 98.5% of their promises," Shanmugam asked. Raja had said that DMK fulfilled its poll promises except that of providing family pension to the govt employees. Shanmugam wondered whether all the unfulfilled promises come under the remaining 1% of the poll promises as claimed by the DMK. Despite being part of the DMK front, Shanmugam has been critical of the state govt. On Tuesday, Shanmugam called DMK govt 'capitalist' and said the DMK cannot win on its own. Meanwhile, VCK president Thol Thirumavalavan also said that it was natural for any party to aim for more seats. "But, ultimately, the DMK would allot an appropriate number of seats," he said.

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday alleged that BJP-led Delhi govt's ordinance on regulating fee hikes favours private schools and decried it as an attempt to "fool" parents. On Tuesday, Delhi Cabinet approved an ordinance empowering the govt to impose fines up to Rs 10 lakh on private schools for violating fee norms and even revoke their right to propose fee revisions. Education minister Ashish Sood said the cabinet, chaired by chief minister Rekha Gupta, approved the Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees) Ordinance, 2025, which will be sent for presidential assent through the lieutenant governor. AAP Delhi state president Saurabh Bharadwaj alleged that in order to favour private schools, govt brought the ordinance through the backdoor. Calling it an "open" and "blatant" surrender of governance, he said the law is drafted entirely in favour of school management. "Ever since the BJP formed a govt in Delhi, the first session of private schools began with a wave of fee hikes. Parents were left with no choice but to pay," he said. Previously, schools had to seek approval from the Directorate of Education before raising fees. Bharadwaj said, "From April 1, private schools increased fees arbitrarily without approval, and the govt took no action—no rollback or refunds were ordered." Criticising the govt for bypassing public consultation and not bringing the bill before the legislative assembly, he said, "The draft was not made public, was not uploaded online, and no citizen feedback was sought." These committees include five school members—three teachers, one principal, and one management member—and parents chosen by lottery. He warned the lottery might select uninterested or uninformed parents, giving schools a voting majority.
