ACE Energy Group Expands Angola Portfolio, Joins Angola Oil & Gas (AOG) 2025 as Silver Sponsor
Nigerian energy service company ACE Energy Group has joined the Angola Oil&Gas (AOG) conference – taking place September 3-4 in Luanda - as a Silver Sponsor. Offering a comprehensive suite of services catered to the oil and gas industry, ACE Energy Group has been expanding its presence in Angola's upstream market in recent years. The company's AOG 2025 sponsorship reflects its commitment to developing Angola's onshore market as ACE Energy Group pursues new asset acquisitions in Angola.
Building on its experience in Nigeria, ACE Energy Group is targeting new onshore blocks in Angola. The company was one of several firms that submitted proposals to Angola's upstream regulator the National Oil, Gas&Biofuels Agency in February 2025 for operatorship of nine blocks in the onshore Kwanza basin. The blocks were initially promoted under Angola's 2023 bid round but not awarded during the licensing process. The proposals align with the government's broader strategy of attracting new players to the market as the country strives to sustain oil production above one million barrels per day.
AOG is the largest oil and gas event in Angola. Taking place with the full support of the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas; the National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency; the Petroleum Derivatives Regulatory Institute; national oil company Sonangol; and the African Energy Chamber; the event is a platform to sign deals and advance Angola's oil and gas industry. Through licensing rounds and direct negotiation with operators, Angola aims to revitalize onshore production. ACE Energy Group was named operator of onshore Block CON 8 under Angola's 2023 licensing round, which closed early-2024. Situated in the onshore Lower Congo basin, Block CON 8's previous exploration activities were conducted in the early 1970s, with four wells drilled: Quinzau-1, Quinzau-2, Ngondo-4 and Ngondo-7. A 2D seismic survey was also conducted, partially covering the northern part of Block CON 8. Structures with possible hydrocarbon accumulation at pre-salt and post-salt levels were identified, showcasing estimated prospective resources of between 870 and 1,909 million barrels of oil. With ACE Energy Group attaining operatorship, new exploration and development opportunities are on the horizon.

Nigeria: FG, Kebbi to partner Brazil for economy growth
The Federal and Kebbi State Governments have expressed their readiness to partner with Brazil in the agriculture sector to achieve Nigeria's goal of a one trillion dollar economy growth by 2030. Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasiru Idris, representing President Bola Tinubu, made this announcement while addressing a Brazilian delegation led by the Special Adviser to President Tinubu, Dr. Tope Fasua, during a courtesy visit at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi on Monday. The Brazilian business team was headed by the Deputy Vice Minister of Brazil's Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food Supply. The delegation also included proprietors of rice mills in Brazil, as well as Alhaji Faruq Gumel, the Managing Director of Wacot Rice Mill in Argungu, Kebbi State. In his speech, Governor Idris emphasized that Brazil and Nigeria have many opportunities for collaboration, particularly in the agricultural sector. According to him, 'Today is not a day for long speeches but a day for camaraderie, forward-looking and learning. Our partners at TGi group whom we have supported through business-friendly policies to build the largest rice mill in sub-Saharan Africa will bear testimony to what can be achieved when the government and the private sector work together. 'Our agribusiness credentials are known to the world, and it is part of our government's policy to continue to support the agricultural sector. In that regard, there is a lot to be learned from Brazil. The successes in agri-energy are ambitions we have and Brazilian collaboration is key to this aspiration. 'Today, Kebbi is the rice capital of Africa. Numerous delegations from African countries in the sub-region have come to understudy the successes that have allowed us to be self-sufficient in rice production and become a net exporter to the rest of the country and the West African sub-region. 'The reforms that we have introduced to ensure a business enabling environment are too numerous to mention. From land acquisition to dispute resolution, Kebbi State is set to receive and promote businesses and all their attendant implications on the economy. 'Nigeria's ambition to have $1 trillion economy by 2030 under the renewed hope Agenda of Mr. President can only be achieved through collaborations like this and Kebbi State is ever ready to play its part as a subnational government under my leadership.' Idris added that his administration had assembled the highest level of policy and decision makers in the state to ensure that all questions were answered and all avenues for collaboration were explored. Earlier, Dr Fasua informed the delegation that Kebbi State which shares largest part of River Niger has a lot of potential, such as Argungu International Fishing Festival and largest rice production in the country, stressing that there would be a lot of new business ideas and investment that would be gained through the collaboration. In his remark, the Brazilian Deputy Vice- Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Goods Supply, Clever Oliveira told the Kebbi State Governor and his cabinet members that Brazil was able to become world best food producer and livestock within 20 years because of her resilience to utilise its rich soil, population and technologies.

Egypt signs contract with China's Hantong Shipyard to build 2 KAMSARMAX vessels
Arab Finance: Egypt's Ministry of Transport has signed a new contract with Chinese shipbuilder Hantong Shipyard to construct two KAMSARMAX dry bulk vessels for the National Navigation Company, reinforcing the country's efforts to revitalize its commercial fleet and position itself as a regional logistics hub, as per a statement. The vessels are scheduled for delivery in September and November move comes in implementation of directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to develop Egypt's role in transportation, logistics, and transit trade, and to restore the strength of the national fleet. Each of the two ships will have a total tonnage of 82,000 tons, with a length of 229 meters, width of 32.26 meters, and draft of 14.5 meters. They will be built according to the latest global environmental standards and technological specifications, including an MAN B&W engine with 7,490 kilowatts of continuous power, low-emission systems, and advanced navigation equipment.
