Scottish singer announced 'immersive' Glasgow concert
'Almost every album I have made over the last 40-plus years has featured at least one instrumental track. Instrumental music is one of my main loves.
'I realised most of these have never been performed live. So my intention on this tour is to seamlessly insert some of these atmospheric, cinematic instrumentals between a selection of hits and favourite album tracks.'
The tour promises to offer a 'rare and deeply personal concert experience' for fans by bringing together album favourites with 'cinematic instrumentals'.
Speaking about the tour, Ure said he wanted to 'take the audience on a journey rather than just play a list of individual songs'.
'This will be an immersive experience for the audience both visually and sonically,' he said.

Ure's musical career has spanned decades with his early years performing as part of bands such as Irish rockers Thin Lizzy, and new wave groups Visage and Rich Kids before going on to have a successful solo career.
The Ivor Novello winner, who has also been nominated for a Grammy, became an OBE in 2005 for services to music and charity.
The musician went on to celebrate his 70th birthday with a sold-out show at the Royal Albert Hall in 2023.
The tour will take place in May and June 2026. On top of Glasgow, Ure will perform in places, including Edinburgh, Milton Keynes, London, Reading, and Manchester.

The Fringe is incredible for taking you on a journey through the full spectrum of the human experience, from cringe-inducing low to euphoric highs. She comes on stage in silhouette, before the lights reveal a fantastically glamorous sequinned get-up and she bursts into song. The diva energy is palpable from the outset. Cohen's hour-long show focuses on her experience of having a stroke in her early 30s – combining themes of self-doubt, millennial self-interest and showbiz ambitions with her health journey. Her ability to coin a phrase is incredible (I can't stop thinking about describing hospital lighting as "giving cellulite), and almost as impressive as her extremely catchy cabaret songs (which I hummed on the train all the way home). This is an incredibly tight hour of comedy and music from a young woman absolutely bursting with talent. The future is incredibly bright for Miss Cohen. Rating: 5/5 Find out more here Kieran Hodgson: Voice of America Kieran Hodgson is probably most recognisable to Scottish audiences from his role as Gordon in Two Doors Down. What you might not know is that Kieran had a minor role as "Sandwich Guy" in DC film The Flash. The team behind the film required that he perform with an American accent – prompting the English-born, Glasgow-based comedian to reckon with his understanding of what it really means to be American in 2025. This is a seriously smart hour of stand-up, which also manages to showcase Hodgson's exceptional impression skills. He is also just a seriously likeable guy. Note: I am slightly cheating here, as I saw a preview of this show in Glasgow rather than at its actual Edinburgh run. Rating: 4/5 Find out more here The Fit Prince (who gets switched on the square in the frosty castle the night before (insert public holiday here)) The Fit Prince has maybe the longest title of any Fringe show this year (Image: Awkward Productions) Having already seen Awkward Productions' brilliant Diana: The Untold and Untrue Story, this was one of my must-sees going into Fringe 2025. It more than lived up to expectation. The Fit Prince is an extremely funny, extremely silly take on the sorts of cookie-cutter Netflix Christmas films and Hallmark movies that get pumped out of the Content Factory every year and inexplicably make massive amounts of money. With low-budget props and clever use of pre-filmed segments from LGBT+ cult favourites, the talented team behind the show create a lot out of a little. The highlight is the mini-concert from Swedonian favourites BAAB (obviously a play on ABBA), with creators Linus Karp and Joseph Martin donning their sparkly dresses for renditions of everyone's favourite pop hits – including Movement King. As ever, the latest production from this team includes lots of hilarious audience interaction ... so be prepared to take to the stage and become a part of the cast if you head to this one. I first came across him years ago online as he was doing a pitch-perfect impression of former Scottish Tory leader Douglas Ross. I've followed his career ever since. The stand-up comedian and podcaster is an underrated talent who deserves a lot more attention. Maybe this latest show will do the trick. Discussing everything from modern dating to the mess of UK and Scottish politics, Jennings darts easily from one topic to another with the ease of your mate at the pub. This one has some seriously quotable punchlines too. Rating: 4/5 Find out more here Body Count Issy Knowles is the writer and performer behind Body Count (Image: Body Count) Body Count, a new one-woman show from Issy Knowles, explores the horrifying world of competitive sex. Based loosely on the infamous escapades of women like Bonnie Blue and Lily Phillips, this show imagines the inner life of those who participate in increasingly extreme sexual activities. With only a smartphone, a bed and a whole lot of condoms, Knowles brings together a thought-provoking, well-structured performance. I would have liked more exploration of how social media led us here, rather than some of the more cliched and one-dimensional depictions of the men in the story, but overall this show is a real talker. Go with your friends, and discuss it over a pint afterwards. Is the line between empowerment and degradation really so thin? She then claimed that as she reached the front the queue, Zayn said: "I like your jubblies [breasts]." "I answer and you can hear all of them yelling and giggling and talking," she alleged. "I say hello and they don't say anything and hang up," she went on. Tricia then claimed that the prank call happened an "absurd amount of times". But then she allegedly got a call from Zayn at midnight asking her to join him at his hotel in Philadelphia. She agreed and her and her pals drove back. "He's calling me every two minutes 'where are you? How far away are you? You have to be quicker - you have to get here fast because we do have to leave.' "We finally get to Philly and he calls and he's like 'we left, we had to go, I told you. We're going to New York City why don't you come meet us there?'." Tricia then claimed Louis Tomlinson called her and said: "Don't shoot the messenger, our tour manager has put his foot down and he says no girls back to the hotel tonight." Tricia then explained how she sent Zayn a text saying: "If you want to rebel against your babysitter tonight, let me know and we'll still come." She then alleged that he replied saying: "F**k the babysitter, come anyway." Tricia and her friends then drove to New York and arrived at gone 2am. Zayn allegedly then told hotel staff hat she was their makeup artist so she was allowed to their room. Tricia claimed that no NDA [nondisclosure agreement] was involved but said her mother had heard the leaked audio and was upset - which is why she never spoke out at the time. "It was not funny at the time," she said, adding how Zayn had "his own stuff going on". Tricia added: "And yes he is a celebrity and all that but he is still very much a person and I didn't want to throw him under the bus like that. "So you can use your imagination I guess about what happened when I got up there. "That's the story of Crystabel Riley," she concluded. The Sun has reached out to Zayn Malik's representatives for a comment. Fans of the band, who were familiar with the leaked call from 13 years ago, were quick to react. One person said: "I'VE BEEN WAITING YEARS TO HEAR STORIES LIKE THIS." Another added: "I have been waiting 13 years for this story." And a third wrote: "I never thought i'd ever be given this information. what a gift."

Jake Paul can't resist taking instant dig at UFC's new $8billion TV deal
The 'Problem Child' - who has been critical of the UFC in the past - was quick to have his say after Paramount penned a staggering deal with the UFC Jake Paul has brutally ripped into the UFC's new media deal and has viciously called for fighters to get their "worth." Dana White's organisation will have all of its fights broadcast on Paramount+ in the USA - which means no more pay-per-view TV. The historic deal is worth $7.7billion (£5.74bn) over seven years and will begin next year. Following the news, White said: "This historic deal with Paramount and CBS is incredible for UFC fans and our athletes. For the first time ever, fans in the US will have access to all UFC content without a pay-per-view model, making it more affordable and accessible to view the greatest fights on a massive platform. "This deal puts UFC amongst the biggest sports in the world. The exposure provided by the Paramount and CBS networks under this new structure is a huge win for our athletes and anyone who watches and loves this sport." Over the years, Paul has constantly hit out at the MMA organisation over its fighter pay. The YouTuber-turned-boxer and the UFC supremo have constantly traded barbs on the matter. And, following the lucrative deal, the 'Problem Child' was quick to offer his verdict. In a post uploaded to X, the 28-year-old boxing star posted: "The hubris from these guys is unreal if ur their partner. 1st they talk about getting into boxing with no risk & charging fees on fees on fees from their partners who are putting up the money. "Now they are saying PPV is dead when they have a PPV this weekend with Du Plessis and another one with Pereira and another one with Aspinal…& another 1 with." A separate post read: "Every fighter in the UFC now has a clear picture of what the revenue is…no more PPV excuses. Get your worth boys and girls." Despite the stunning news, nothing has changed for UK MMA fans as they are still able to access UFC events through a regular TNT Sports subscription. That said, the announcement comes as a great surprise to American fans as it means the pay-per-view model will no longer exist from 2026. Last year, on an edition of his podcast "BS w/ Jake Paul," the YouTuber-turned-boxer said the UFC can raise minimum fighter pay at such a rate that he wouldn't have anything to criticise. "The only thing I've really asked for is for the minimum fighter pay, which is $12,500, to be changed to $50,000," Paul said. "So that fighters who have to work multiple jobs, if they fight once a year even, they'd be able to live off of that." Reports had previously suggested that ESPN appeared to be in line to renewing their UFC deal, having held the rights to PPV and Fight Night events since 2019. That said, the likes of Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Warner Bros. Discovery were also in the running. Nevertheless, Paramount+ will be the new home of the UFC in the US as they enter a new era in 2026. 'I couldn't be more excited to join forces with Dana, Ari, and Mark. The social media sensation can now fight for a world title after he was placed in the WBC's cruiserweight rankings following his win over the former middleweight champion. The 28-year-old's business partner revealed his business partner is keen on fighting for a world title 'as soon as possible'. However, he admits it is likely it won't happen next, given the current standings at 200lbs. "Absolutely [he will fight again this year]. November or December," Bidarian told Ariel Helwani when asked about Paul's next steps. "I'm seeing him tonight for dinner, and we will have a conversation [about his next opponent]. The only possibility right now is that Jake wants to fight for a belt as soon as possible. "I have to talk to him, I think it's tough this year [to box for a world title]. Badou Jack is who he wants to fight more than anyone, and he has a mandatory rematch with the guy he just beat [Noel Mikaelian] for the WBC. I don't know if this year is possible [for the title fight], but we'll see."
