BTS fans are in for a treat. The feature-length documentary Forever We Are Young by award-winning directors Grace Lee and Patty Ahn will hit theaters on July 30. The film shines a spotlight on the BTS global fandom known as Army—currently at 90 million fans and growing. Army, an intergenerational, culturally savvy and socially active movement is as diverse as the world itself. The film captures the powerful spirit of activism and collectivity that make the fandom a symbol of hope and unity.
For more than a decade BTS has been recognized for delivering exceptional music and performances. The South Korean band, composed of RM, Jin, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook, have collected six No.1 Billboard Hot 100 singles since 2020 and performed multiple sold-out stadium shows across the world.
The film debuts on July 30.
The five-time Grammy nominees were named Time's Entertainer of the Year in 2020 and earned recognition at the Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards (Artist of the Year 2021) and MTV Video Music Award.
BTS is already the subject of a few films but Forever We Are Young is made by Army for Army, as the film centers on the fans themselves and celebrates their creativity, resilience and deep emotional connection to the group. Although rooted in fandom, the film explores universal themes of belonging, identity and self-love.
From Seoul to Los Angeles, Texas to Mexico City, BTS Army is everywhere. Forever We Are Young meets fans at locations as diverse as a BTS-focused ReactorCon in Lewisville, Texas, and a Seoul-based dance class that teaches BTS choreography, offering insight into the loyal fandom that helped the k-pop idols dominate the charts.
'Forever We Are Young' celebrates the BTS fandom.
'There is no BTS without Army and no Army without BTS," said the film's co-director and producer Grace Lee.
'We're excited for audiences to go on an emotional journey and meet a fandom that made us laugh, cry and think,' said director and producer Patty Ahn. "We were constantly moved by the fans' power, resilience, creativity and humor and hope audiences will be too'
Lee is a Peabody-winning filmmaker, whose directing and producing credits include the documentary series And She Could be Next, Asian Americans; and feature documentaries: American Revolutionary: The Evolution of Grace Lee Boggs, The Grace Lee Project and fiction films Janeane from Des Moines and American Zombie. She is BTS One True 7.
Ahn is a filmmaker and professor in the communication department at the University of California, San Diego. Ahn's research and teaching focus on k-pop's growing global influence, especially in the U.S. Ahn's favorite BTS member? It's Jimin.
Forever We Are Young is being released by Trafalgar Releasing, which organizes cinema events. It's not the first BTS concert or film they've released.
Dedicated BTS fans WatchaGot2Say enthusiastically review every BTS release.

"We are proud to bring this film to big screens across the globe to celebrate the impact of the fans themselves who have supported BTS every step of the way.'

BTS Scores Multiple New Gold And Platinum Smashes At A Special Time
BTS earns new RIAA certifications for seven songs as all members complete military service and ... More prepare for a musical comeback. LOS ANGELES, CA - FEBRUARY 10: South Korean boy band BTS backstage during the 61st Annual GRAMMY Awards at Staples Center on February 10, 2019 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo byfor The Recording Academy) All seven members of BTS have finally completed their mandatory military service in the South Korean army and are now free to focus on music again. Over the past several years, each member of the boy band has stepped away from the spotlight at different times, allowing some to focus on solo musical careers while others served. As BTS prepares for a long-awaited musical reunion – which could happen at some point in 2025 – several of the group's tracks have recently earned new certifications in the United States, adding to the band's already impressive catalog of hits. Seven BTS Songs Earn Their First RIAA Certifications Seven BTS tracks have been certified by the RIAA for the first time. Five of them — "Black Swan," "Permission to Dance," "Spring Day," "Save Me," and "On" — have been named gold songs, which means they have moved 500,000 equivalent units in the U.S. through a combination of sales and streaming activity. At the same time, both "Blood Sweat & Tears" and "Run" were simultaneously certified gold and platinum, meaning each has moved at least one million equivalent units in America. BTS Upgrades Two Past Gold Hits Two fan-favorite tracks, "DNA" and "Fake Love," were originally certified gold back in 2018. Now, both have reached platinum status, as each has shifted a total of another half-million equivalent units throughout the past seven years. BTS's Growing List of Certified Hits To date, 17 BTS songs have been certified by the RIAA at one level or another. Seven have been certified gold, while eight have reached the platinum tier. "Butter" stands out as a double platinum smash, while "Dynamite" is easily the group's biggest success so far. That single has moved more than five million equivalent units in the U.S., making it a quintuple platinum behemoth.

Steven Van Zandt will miss several Bruce Springsteen shows after emergency surgery
Steven Van Zandt is on the mend. The musician, 74, will miss several upcoming shows with Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band after undergoing emergency surgery. 'Got a sharp pain in my stomach, thought it was food poisoning, turned out to be appendicitis,' Van Zandt wrote via Instagram on Monday. 'Got lucky with an exceptional hospital in San Sebastian. Operation was a complete success and I'm hoping to get back on stage for at least one of the shows in Milan. Thank you all for all the good vibes. See you soon – SVZ.' 6 Bruce Springsteen (L) and Steven Van Zandt of the E Street Band. UPI Friends and fans flocked to the comments section to wish the rocker a speedy recovery. One user wrote, 'Yikes! That stuff is no joke – heal up soon my friend!,' while a second chimed in, 'Get well soon, you're worth waiting for. Your health is more important!.' Rounding out the sweet notes, a third follower penned, 'Sending you wishes for a speedy recovery!!' The Post reached out to Van Zandt's rep for comment. The group is set to play again in San Sebastian on Tuesday before heading to Germany for a show on Friday. From there, Springsteen, 75, and the band will have concerts in Milan, Italy, on June 30 and July 3. 6 Steven Van Zandt attends Prime Video's 'Étoile' New York premiere. Getty Images Van Zandt has played in the E Street Band on and off since 1975. Since 1999, he has been a permanent fixture in the group. Springsteen also dealt with some health issues in 2023 after being diagnosed with peptic ulcer disease. The Grammy winner canceled various shows at the time, and revealed last year just what the prognosis meant. 'You sing with your diaphragm. You know, my diaphragm was hurting so badly that when I went to make the effort to sing, it was killing me, so I literally couldn't sing at all, you know?' he shared in March 2024 while on Sirius XM's E Street Radio. 'And that lasted for two, three months, along with just a myriad of other painful problems.' 6 Bruce Springsteen concert. Springsteen and the E Street Band reunited in a New Jersey music room in 2023, with Van Zandt telling The Post, 'It took an extra minute because usually we don't rehearse at all.' 'We get together for two or three days just to kind of say 'hello' to each other again.' 6 Little Steven Van Zandt is joined by Bruce Springsteen live in concert during Little Steven and The Disciples of Soul Summer of Sorcery Tour 2019. Getty Images 'We have been away for six or seven years, and people didn't know what to expect from us,' he confessed. 'Everybody's getting a little older, you know. And it was up to us to go out there and say, 'Hey, we're not just getting older — we're getting better, OK? And, yes, we're closer to the end than we are to the beginning, but we're still very productive here.' That performance kicked off their world tour, which is coming to an end this summer. Speaking on their years long friendship, Van Zandt told People in June 2024, 'You just don't have that many friends for 60 years. I think the fact that it survived some ups and downs, it says something about our nature. The nature of the importance of friendship in general, which is what attracted me to being in a band rather than a solo show business person.' 6 Bruce Springsteen and Steven Van Zandt of The E Street Band during their 2024 World Tour. Ritzau Scanpix/AFP via Getty Images The 'Sopranos' alum also reflected on the music he's made with Springsteen and the band over the years. 'We bought the illusion completely. We thought the Beatles were best friends, the Rolling Stones were best friends, The Who, the Kinks. We didn't know they were having fist fights,' he explained. 'We made that illusion real — and I think that's the appeal of the E Street Band to this day, communicating that friendship.' Along with a solid friendship, the band has continued to bring in the sold-out crowds. 6 Steven Van Zandt. Andy Kropa/Invision/AP '50 years later, how are we still playing to 300,000 people in one country in one week?' Van Zandt asked. 'I think we're communicating that friendship, which is real with me and him. When they see us on the same microphone, that isn't an act. Nobody's that good an actor to keep this act up for 50 years.' He added, 'I think that's something that you cannot take for granted.'
