Sam Thompson begins 260-mile run and cycle to deliver Soccer Aid match ball

The 32-year-old will travel from Chelsea's Stamford Bridge stadium in London, the location of last year's charity match in aid of Unicef, to Manchester United's Old Trafford home, which will host the 2025 game that Thompson is due to play in.
Speaking before setting off on Monday, the former Made In Chelsea star said: 'I had no sleep last night, I'm absolutely terrified but I know I just need to keep my head in the game and remember why I'm doing this.
'It's all for Unicef and to raise as much money as possible, so I'm going to dig deep and get on with it, and look forward to a hot shower at the end.'
On Monday, Thompson will run 26 miles towards Hemel Hempstead, where he will then cycle 23 miles further to the first finish line at MK Dons' Stadium MK ground in Milton Keynes.
Thompson was joined at the start line by I'm A Celebrity … Unpacked co-host Joel Dommett, his sister Louise Thompson, her partner Ryan Libbey and his nephew Leo.
His sister said: 'Sam's such a happy, entertaining person, I've never seen him do something that will require so much resilience and endurance.
'I'm so proud of him, he's put so much work in and it's all for an incredible cause, and will help so many children. I'm waving him off at the beginning and I'll be seeing him at the end, that's all the support he needs from me.'
From Stadium MK, Thompson will travel to Aston Villa's Villa Park in Birmingham, then on to Port Vale's Vale Park in Stoke-on-Trent, then to Everton's Goodison Park in Liverpool, before finishing at Old Trafford.
His journey will be broadcast live on ITV's This Morning and Hits Radio each day, with the star due to arrive at the finish line on Friday June 6.
The challenge will also feature in a one-off documentary on ITV1, Sam Thompson's Match Ball Mission, which will air in the lead-up to Soccer Aid for Unicef.
Thompson is taking on the challenge to raise money for Soccer Aid charity Unicef's work to help children grow up safe, healthy and able to play.
Soccer Aid 2025 will take place on Sunday June 15, at Old Trafford, and will be broadcast live on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player.

Inside Holly Willoughby's future plans as she's left without telly show for first time in years

IT has been an incredibly testing few years for former ITV treasure Holly Willoughby, with her work life as she knew it crumbling around her. For the first time in years the 44-year-old has been left without a TV show - and she's now at a serious crossroads and is poised to start a new chapter in her career. 10 Holly Willoughby is looking to the future now Credit: Getty 10 The star is currently not working with ITV - or Stephen Mulhern Credit: Rex 10 A second series of Bear Hunt will not be renewed Once the princess of ITV, she is currently 'showless' with her beloved ITV for the first time in 21 years. With her time on ITV's This Morning now a distant memory, Holly was looking likely to land a series of lucrative deals with the streamers. But in a further blow - her new Netflix show, Bear Hunt, with Bear Grylls, has been axed. The news comes just weeks after Dancing On Ice was axed and on top of that, she has made the decision to step down from You Bet!, leaving Stephen Mulhern to present alone. She is set to appear briefly in the next series, but will no longer be hosting it. It marks a huge shift in her work with ITV. One option for the star could be a reboot of Record Breakers, which Holly's husband Dan Baldwin is already working on. There is currently no channel attached to the show, which is in its very early stages but sources say it would be a "perfect fit". A telly insider said: "Record Breakers is likely to be a prime time hit and it would make perfect sense for Holly to take the reins. "She has worked alongside Dan before and the pair know what it takes to make great telly." Watch moment Holly Willoughby drops clue over Dancing on Ice's future after series 17 finale She has also been linked to a reboot of Cilla Black's best-known show, Blind Date. The Sun told this week how the ITV classic is being revived - and in a surprise twist will go to global streaming service Disney+. Producers want to keep the tradition of a top British female host, with a shortlist including Claudia Winkleman, Holly Willoughby and Davina McCall. Sources say Holly is also being looked at for a new Channel 4 talent show, currently dubbed Secret Singers, which is searching for raw, undiscovered singing talent. Love Productions - the creators of The Great British Bake Off and The Piano - have already put out a casting call. An insider said: "This is likely to be a heartwarming and hugely popular show for all the family. Sources have said that Holly is inspired by Christine's career and her work-life balance and is hoping to emulate that herself. They said: 'Holly is ready for a rebrand and has definitely been looking at those around her for inspiration.' Addressing her incredibly difficult time, Holly recently told The Sunday Times Style Magazine: 'It's been tough. There's no way of sugar-coating it.' Discussing why she felt moving forward was her only option, Holly said: 'Sometimes things go wrong, but you have to keep going for it because that's all you can do.' And it looks like Holly is moving forward - but not before making some serious changes.

John Obi Mikel calls for three more Chelsea signings but fears one star will go

John Obi Mikel hopes to see Chelsea make at least three more signings to prove there are legitimate Premier League title contenders next season. In Enzo Maresca's first season in charge at Stamford Bridge, the Blues showed signs they were ready to fight for English football's biggest prize once again but an alarming dip after the turn of the year saw their hopes of keeping pace with Liverpool fade quickly. They swiftly found themselves among the clutch of clubs scrapping for Champions League qualification but a strong end to the campaign saw them finish fourth, confirming their return to European football's top table next season. A Europa Conference League triumph further emboldened Maresca's young side with Liam Delap since joining the squad, choosing Chelsea over Manchester United. A Club World Cup campaign in the US will give them the chance to add more silverware with Mikel, part of some of the most successful squads in Chelsea history, convinced it can reignite a winning culture in the dressing room. Wake up to find news on your club in your inbox every morning with Metro's Football Newsletter. Chelsea's coffers will be filled to the tune of £100m if they end up winning the revamped competition with the former midfielder eager to see the money spent wisely. With Jadon Sancho returning to Manchester United, Mikel believes another winger is a must, along with a central midfielder. While Levi Cowill and Trevoh Chalobah finished the season formidably with Wesley Fofana injured again, the Nigerian believes the squad could also benefit from an experienced option at the back. 'I'm excited by the business the club has done. But if we can go again and win the Club World Cup, they can bring in more money and go again and spend,' Mikel told Metro. 'Bring in an experienced centre-back another midfield player and another winger. Jadon Sancho is going back to Manchester United, if we can bring in another winger who can take on players, create chances and score goals, that is what we need. 'We need to keep improving and I am sure Laurence Stewart, Paul Winstanley [Chelsea's co-sporting directors] and the guys there are working hard behind the scenes to bring in some really good players to improve the squad.' He continued: I think they are legitimate contenders and we should believe that. We have a great squad, a young team but a great squad, a team that has just tasted what it is like to win a trophy. 'Winning is about culture and that is what Chelsea Football Club is and we have to continue that culture. This young squad has now tasted what it feels like to win a trophy, I hope they can build on it because that creates a winning mentality around the squad.' Noni Madueke's return of 11 goals and five assists saw him emerge as an important component in that young attack, also forcing his way into the England picture. The 23-year-old found himself questioned and challenged by his manager on more than one occasion, however, warned over his performances in training in August before being dropped from the squad for a game against Aston Villa for similar reasons in December. Madueke now finds his future at Stamford Bridge uncertain with Newcastle United interested in bringing him to St James' Park. Mikel shares some of Maresca's concerns over the winger, insisting 'there is a lot of room for improvement' given the talent he has at his disposal. While he would like to see Madeuke remain part of the squad, the arrival of a new wide option could see him shown the door. 'I like him,' Mikel said of Madueke. 'There is a lot of room for improvement however, I think him as a player, he can definitely do more. He can do more defensively and in terms of scoring goals. Maybe there is a reason Maresca wants to get rid of him. 'There is a lot more expected from Noni. His relationship with the manager, all throughout the season there was a little bit of tension. But I liked that, he gave him that little kick up the backside. You have to get better. Your end product has to be better. More Trending 'Enzo knows Noni can do better, he knows there's a lot more there. I think Noni has taken it on board sometimes but he can do better. If he is the player that is going to have to be let go to bring in another top winger, it's not a bad idea but for me, I would keep him and bring in someone else. 'Because the talent is there. But he needs to perform week in week out. The manager knows better than anyone else, he must have seen something in him we haven't seen. Maybe how he trains, how he applies himself, I don't know, if that is going to happen, maybe there is a reason Maresca wants to get rid of him. But as a Chelsea fan, I keep him.'
