The field has featured several blue-chip recruits in the 2026, 2027, and even 2028 classes so far. Previous top performing prospects included USC-bound QB Jonas Williams, Texas WR commit Chris Stewart, and five-star CB Havon Finney Jr.
Here are 10 more players Rivals will be watching closely during Week 4 action at OT7:
FOUR-STAR QB LANDON DUCKWORTH, RWE
Landon Duckworth is one of six quarterback ranked inside the top 30 of the Rivals250 in the 2026 cycle. The four-star passer from Alabama possesses as much -- or more -- upside than anyone in this class. Duckworth is an efficient distributor with big-play ability attacking vertically and extending plays outside of the pocket. In this 7-on-7 setting, the elite QB will have an opportunity to showcase his processing and decision-making early and often.
FOUR-STAR ATH JOEY O'BRIEN, LEVEL82
Four-star Joey O'Brien has been tabbed as an ATH in the Rivals250 given the 6-foot-3, 180-pounder's ability to make plays at receiver and at defensive back in various settings. The four-star has found a home playing safety and is a prospect with size, range, length, and playmaking ability at the position. O'Brien's should see plenty of action against a stout group of pass-catchers this weekend.
FOUR-STAR WR VANCE SPAFFORD (GEORGIA COMMIT), CALIFORNIA POWER
Four-star Vance Spafford was absolutely electric in this setting this time last year -- and is very much in the conversation to be the No. 1 SLOT WR in the Rivals250 by the end of this recruiting cycle. The Georgia verbal from the West Coast will get an opportunity to line up against various NICKEL defenders. We're excited to see Spafford at work and how he directs coverages with so much star power around him on the Cali Power offense.
FIVE-STAR QB RYDER LYONS, COLD HEARTS
Ryder Lyons made his 7-on-7 debut Week 1 of the OT7 season. After two days of action, the five-star QB was well-acclimated to the speed of the game and found a rhythm. Lyons has a live arm and a talented cast of receivers around him. He wasn't shy about taking shots downfield -- and we anticipate seeing a different version of the touted passer this weekend.
FOUR-STAR TE MARK BOWMAN, CALIFORNIA POWER
Elite TE Mark Bowman is one of a handful of prospects to reclassify into the 2026 cycle. The top-30 recruit from California moves at a different speed at 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds. He also should be a mismatch in the red zone. Bowman should draw the attention of several talented linebackers and safeties along the way.
FOUR-STAR WR JABARI MACK (LSU COMMIT)
Four-star WR Jabari Mack has been enjoying a stellar off-season so far -- shining in various settings, including Week 1 of the OT7 season last month. The speedy pass-catcher from The Boot is up to 200 pounds this spring -- and has continued to deliver big plays downfield and highlight catches each and every event this spring. Mack is one of the several elite WR committed to LSU in this cycle.
FOUR-STAR ATH SALESI MOA, COLD HEARTS
Four-star ATH Salesi Moa was superb in his last outing at OT7 in Week 1. The dynamic two-way player from Utah was one of Lyons' top receiving targets -- making deep catches downfield and also working underneath effectively. Moa was equally as good in coverage playing cornerback. Moa's father played in the NFL and a brother at Michigan State, and he has a skill-set to follow suit.
FOUR-STAR SAF JETT WASHINGTON, LO-PRO
Jett Washington is known for being the late great Kobe Bryant's nephew -- and he also has an established reputation as one of the top defensive backs at OT7 the past two seasons. The top-100 SAF has outstanding range and length patrolling the back end of the secondary and can fly to the football. Washington, unsurprisingly, is also a standout basketball player.
THREE-STAR WR JAMES SCOTT, TUCSON TURF
Touted 2026 WR James Scott out of the Lone Star State was one of top performers in OT7 Week 1. The big-framed pass-catcher was outstanding by the goal -- playing above the rim and consistently winning one-on-one matchups inside and also working on the perimeter. Scott was one of the biggest stock-up recruits at the position so far this spring -- and has programs like Houston, , TCU, Texas A&M, and USC in pursuit.
THREE-STAR SAF KENTAVION ANDERSON, RWE
We're ecstatic about our first live evaluation of touted 2026 SAF Kentavion Anderson. The South Carolina native constantly puts himself by the football. Anderson largely works in in the box and covers a ton of ground -- and his skill-set should translate well in this 7-on-7 setting. Anderson is set to make his college commitment on May 16.

Kristen Nuss and Taryn Brasher repeat as Manhattan Beach Open champions
Kristen Nuss was covered in sand, dulling her neon two-piece swimsuit. A white lei hung around her neck as she attempted to balance her champion's plaque awkwardly in one hand. 'This thing is heavy,' she said, 'my arm is getting sore.' Despite her and partner Taryn Brasher repeating as Manhattan Beach Open champions for the second straight year — grinding out a 15-21, 21-18, 15-13 victory over former USC standouts Megan Kraft and Terese Cannon — on Sunday, the weight of both the hardware and the title wasn't lost on Nuss. 'This is Wimbledon,' Nuss said. 'It's the grand daddy of them all. My mom always said she wanted me to play at Wimbledon. ... This is definitely one of the most coveted trophies right here.' Partners since 2021, Nuss and Brasher were greeted with a roar before the first serve. On the other side of the net, Kraft and Cannon seemed to be the underdogs to the Paris Olympians. But as the former Trojan duo snatched the opening set, fans pressed shoulder to shoulder along the railings and bleachers, pulled into the possibility of a rally from the defending title-holders. Kraft's heavy serve and Cannon's long reach at the net gave them the first frame at 21-15. During the changeover between frames, Brasher and Nuss zeroed in on the cracks by serving together and passing cleaner. 'We don't like first sets,' Nuss joked. 'That is something we've learned this year especially ... we should just not play the first set. But we know we can battle back no matter what.' Down three points in the second set, Nuss sprawled across the sand for an improbable dig to tie the score at 18. And in the third set, with the teams even at five, Nuss — the smallest player on the sand — swung above her size, disguising her shots by glancing one way and spiking the ball the other. 'There is nothing — no deficit — that is going to scare Kristen,' Brasher said. Under the scorching Manhattan Beach sun, fans stayed jammed along the railings. But the second final would not follow the same fairytale ending. For Phil Dalhausser and Trevor Crabb, this year's Manhattan Beach Open doubled as both a curtain call and a chance to win a title. For the former, it was the final time he'd ever tower over California Sand — a four-time Olympian, International Volleyball Hall of Famer and seven-time Manhattan Beach Open champion competing in the second-to-last AVP event of his career. Crabb entered the weekend looking to win the tournament for the second straight year. But Chase Budinger and Miles Evans had other plans, racing through the final and burying the storybook ending 21-19, 21-16 to clinch the men's title. Budinger and Evans tipped their caps to Dalhausser — recognizing the legend who is a legend in the sport. '[Dalhausser] is the best player to ever play the game,' Budinger said. 'So every time I step on the court playing against him, I really try to cherish those times with him — those memories, those battles — because he's such an unbelievable player.' Dripping in champagne and holding his plaque, Evans said the triumph was validation for all the work the duo has put in to break through since pairing up in 2013. 'Hopefully this is the beginning of great things for us,' he said.

One particular aspect of NCAA's Michigan ruling should infuriate USC fans
On Friday morning, the NCAA announced its penalties against Michigan football for the Wolverines' 2021-2023 sign stealing scandal. As we noted here following the ruling, USC fans have every right to be frustrated given that the Wolverines received a significantly lesser penalty than USC got in 2010 for a much smaller offense. However, there is one aspect of the NCAA's decision that should absolutely infuriate USC fans. Following Friday's ruling, Nicole Auerbach of NBC Sports published a particularly notable quote. According to Auerbach, the NCAA believed that Michigan's offenses warranted enough of a violation for a postseason ban. 'However,' the NCAA said, 'the panel determined that a postseason ban would unfairly penalize student-athletes for the actions of coaches and staff who are no longer associated with the Michigan football program." USC football fans should be furious Any USC fan that reads this quote should be absolutely furious, because the Trojans received no such luxury from the NCAA back in 2010. The 2011 Trojans were unable to play in the Pac-12 Championship Game and a potential Rose Bowl due to NCAA sanctions regarding Reggie Bush receiving improper benefits while he was at USC. Middle school Many of the players on that team were in middle school when Bush was playing for the Trojans. Scholarships Further, USC was stripped of 30 scholarships between the 2012, 2013, and 2014 recruiting classes. In other words, kids who were between the ages of eight and 11 when Bush allegedly received a limousine ride to the 2004 Heisman Trophy presentation ceremony had the ability to play football for the Trojans taken away from them. Lots of irony The especially ironic part is that Michigan's violations are much more recent than USC's were at the time of the Trojans' sentencing. By 2010, not a single USC player who had been teammates with Bush remained on the roster, and the Trojans' coaching staff looked very different as well. By contrast, there are still some upperclassmen on the Wolverines' roster who were a part of their 2023 national championship team, and current head coach Sherrone Moore was the offensive coordinator for that group. Perspective More than 15 years later, it remains obvious that USC got jobbed by the NCAA. Every NCAA ruling with a much lesser punishment than what the Trojans got back in 2010 will only continue to highlight the point.

USC football countdown to kickoff—Sam Darnold in focus
The countdown to USC's 2025 football season is officially on! The Trojans kick off their new campaign 14 days from today. You need something to help you while away the days and hours in the spring and summer. This is one way to do so. In this new series, countdown to kickoff, we will be counting down the days by highlighting a notable Trojan who wore each number. Today, we look at former USC quarterback Sam Darnold. Position: Quarterback Years played at USC: 2015-2017 Career highlights: After redshirting his first year on campus in 2015, Darnold spent the first three games of the 2016 season as the backup to Max Browne. With the Trojans off to a 1-2 start, however, head coach Clay Helton elected to make a change and inserted Darnold into the starting lineup. USC lost Darnold's first start at Utah, but did not lose again for the rest of the season after that. The Trojans ended their 2016 campaign on a nine-game winning streak, culminating in an instant classic 52-49 Rose Bowl victory over Penn State, in which Darnold threw for 453 yards and five touchdowns. The following season, Darnold led USC to its first conference title in nine years, as the Trojans defeated Stanford in the Pac-12 Championship Game. That year, he also earned first-time all-Pac-12 honors and became the first USC quarterback to throw for over 4,000 yards in a season. However, the Trojans ended the year in disappointing fashion with a 24-7 blowout loss to Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl. After USC: Following his redshirt sophomore season, Darnold declared for the 2018 NFL Draft, where the New York Jets selected him with the third overall pick. However, he struggled his first few years in the league (as most Jets quarterbacks tend to do), and appeared on track towards being a career backup at best. Last season with the Minnesota Vikings, however—Darnold's fourth different team in seven years in the league—he finally had a breakthrough season. He finished the year with a career-high 4,319 passing yards and 35 passing touchdowns. After signing with the Seattle Seahawks this past offseason, Darnold will look to replicate last year's success in the Pacific Northwest this fall.
