Duchess of York says she is ‘sure' late Queen talks to her through corgis
The duchess adopted the late Queen's corgis, Muick and Sandy, with ex-husband Prince Andrew after the monarch's death, housing them at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.
She made the comments in an address to the Creative Women Platform in London, revealing she believed that the late Queen has been communicating to her through the dogs' barking, The Times newspaper reported.
'I have her dogs, I have her corgis. Every morning they come in and go, 'woof woof' and all that and I'm sure it's her talking to me', she said.
'I'm sure it's her, reminding me she's still around.'
It is not the first time the duchess has noted the dogs' remarkable connection to Queen Elizabeth II.
In 2023, Sarah described how one of the corgis, Muick, had grieved after the late Queen's death.
Speaking with Graeme Hall, presenter of the Channel 5 show Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly, Sarah said it took Muick about a year to come to terms with Queen Elizabeth II's death.
The late Queen owned more than 30 corgis during her life, many of which were directly descended from Susan, an 18th birthday present given to her by her parents in 1944.
The then Princess Elizabeth forged such a strong connection with Susan that the dog accompanied her on her honeymoon.

He says the two women had a row over bridesmaid dresses in the lead-up to his wedding that left Meghan in tears and that Kate "grimaced" when the duchess borrowed her lipgloss. Both couples decided to have a clear-the-air chat shortly after the Sussexes' honeymoon. However, things got so tense that Kate's fingers supposedly went white. Harry describes the moment in his memoir after he and Meghan were invited over to see William and Kate for tea at their Kensington Palace apartment. He recalls how both couples aired their grievances including Kate, who asked for an apology from Meghan as she gripped a leather sofa so tightly her "fingers were white". According to Spare, Kate wanted Meghan to say sorry for making a remark about her hormones and having "baby brain" while she was pregnant. The book then recounts how Meghan apologised and explained that is how she speaks to her friends. But the encounter took a turn when Harry claims William "pointed a finger at Meg", then allegedly blasted: "Well, it's rude, Meghan. These things are not done here." To which he says Meghan responded: "If you don't mind, keep your finger out of my face." Now in a new Channel 5 documentary, 'Meghan vs Kate: The Meeting That Changed the Monarchy', royal experts believe this meeting was a turning point for the Sussexes as set the wheels in motion for Harry and Meghan to dramatically quit their royal roles. According to the Daily Mail's Richard Kay, this was the meeting that saw "the seed of Megxit sewn" while fellow expert Sarah Hewson said: "Had that meeting been a success, had they been able to put their differences aside, things would have been very different indeed." And chief royal correspondent from Newsweek, Jack Royston said: "If only they'd listened. If Meghan had listened what was being said to her, she could have changed way back in 2018. And even if they had still quit the monarchy, they could have saved themselves so much pain and so much conflict. "What happened in that room back in June 2018 was the defining element of the relationship between the two couples that ripped the monarchy to pieces." While respected royal author Valentine Low added: "They had pathetic little differences that should have been sorted out in two minutes. But it helped fuel the flames." Harry's observation in Spare comes after Meghan took aim at Kate during her and Harry's Netflix docuseries. As she recalled their first meeting she said she was "surprised" by the behind-the-scenes formality of members of the royal family. Speaking in episode two of the six-part Harry & Meghan docuseries, she said: "When Will and Kate came over, and I met her for the first time, they came over for dinner, I remember I was in ripped jeans and I was barefoot. I was a hugger. I've always been a hugger, I didn't realise that that is really jarring for a lot of Brits. "I guess I started to understand very quickly that the formality on the outside carried through on the inside. There is a forward-facing way of being, and then you close the door and go 'You can relax now', but that formality carries over on both sides. And that was surprising to me." Powys actor Tom Cullen to star as BBC hit the Gold returns
Powys actor Tom Cullen will be appearing on our screens this weekend as the BBC's hit show the Gold returns. Tom, who grew up in Llandrindod Wells, will reprise his role John Palmer in the factual drama series which is inspired by the true story of the 1983 Brink's-Mat robbery and the decades-long chain of events that followed. The Gold is the creation of highly acclaimed writer Neil Forsyth the creative force behind 'Bob Servant Independent' and 'Guilt'. The first series was a huge critical success with the Hugo Rifkind of The Times calling it "tremendous – I'm not sure there's been a drama like it in years' while the Evening Standard called it "a truly smart British crime drama with a classic feel and a knockout cast". The first series saw Cullen's Palmer work with Kenneth Noye, played by Jack Lowden, to melt down the stolen gold and launder it in the open market. According to Cullen, viewers can expect a big change in Palmer in the much anticipated second series. In an interview with the BBC ahead of the new series Cullen said: 'There's quite a large leap in terms of John Palmer from series one to series two. 'The themes of the show are a continuation of series one, in that it's about class, it's about money, it's about greed. It's about how money can be like an infection, and it can change the very makeup of a person. 'I also think it is about consequences. What happens if you push beyond your limits?' David Melleny and his wife Megan could not be happier in their baby bubble - but as they reveal, they were going through a very sad time when they found out the good news The Yorkshire Vet 's David Melleney - though he's the first to admit that becoming a first-time dad is quite a learning curve - is in a happy baby bubble with wife Megan, 28, after the couple welcomed their first child on 19 May. And as they welcome OK! into their rural home in Holmfirth, Yorkshire for an exclusive interview, they also reveal why their journey was so emotional at times. Speaking of his adorable firstborn, a little girl named Lilah Rose, David revealed: 'She's been amazing so far,' he beams, sitting next to wife Megan and Lilah, who has an impressive head of baby-soft dark hair. 'She's been sleeping and eating, but we've been warned that everything can change.' The Channel 5 star married dentist Megan in a beautiful ceremony at Chateau du Doux, in France's Dordogne, in September 2023 – and Lilah is the the first grandchild for Megan's mum and dad, Steve and Della. But as the couple explain, when they found out they were expecting, Megan's family were going through a difficult time, a double loss which made them cautious about finding the right moment to break their happy news. 'I'd lost both my grandmas in the space of a month, and the day we found out was the day we were clearing out Nan's stuff from her house. My period was late, but I thought it might have been stress, so I did a test to check. It was a surreal and very emotional day", says Megan, reflectively. 'We decided to wait a couple of weeks to tell people, including Mum and Dad. My mum and my nan were really close so I just didn't think it was the right time. When we did tell them, everyone was overjoyed. I have one younger brother and we were pretty close to our cousins growing up, so the house was always full. I always knew I wanted to be a mum. No one in my generation has yet had a baby, so Lilah is already very spoiled.' Aside from the sadness of family losses, Megan says her pregnancy was in general smooth-sailing - confessing she only stopped working when it got to the point where her bump made it hard to "bend over and use my arms'. And thankfully, after what in the end was a very swift labour, Lilah was born happy and healthy. The couple spent one night in hospital before returning home for the very first time as a family of three, to a waiting charcuterie board and a bottle of wine which had been sweetly prepared by David's brother Peter and his parents Paul and Vicky. 'So I had a glass of wine and cried as I ate Parma ham, because that's how emotional you are when you get out of hospital,' Megan laughs. Fans of The Yorkshire Vet can also expect to see Lilah make her TV debut soon, as David and Megan introduce their new addition to The Yorkshire Vet viewers in a special episode which includes her arrival.
