The late monarch owned over 30 of the dogs over the years, with Muick and Sandy being the last dogs she had before her death in September 2022. In the aftermath, they were adopted by her son, Prince Andrew, and his ex-wife, Sarah, Duchess of York, to enjoy the rest of their life filled with lots of affection and plenty of the best dog treats. Speaking in an address to the Creative Woman Platform in London, the Duchess said that she thinks the Queen talks to her through dogs Muick and Sandy, who live at the Royal Lodge in Windsor with herself and Andrew – and a handful of Norfolk terriers. She said, via The Times, 'I have her dogs, I have her Corgis. Every morning they come in and go, 'woof woof' and all that and I'm sure it's her talking to me. I'm sure it's her, reminding me she's still around.' She then paid tribute to the late Queen, saying, 'Anyway, the real thing is that I had the greatest honor to be her daughter-in-law. That's pretty huge. And when I was driving here, I saw the [London Underground's] Elizabeth line and I said, 'I want everyone to remember what an amazing lady she was.'' Andrew and his daughters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie gave the Queen Muick alongside a Dorgi (Corgi-dachshund mix) Fergus, in 2021. Fergus sadly died from a heart defect when he was five months old, so later that year the trio gave the Queen another Corgi puppy, Sandy. Shortly after the Queen died, a source told the BBC that it was Sarah who found the puppies, and that 'the duchess bonded with Her Majesty over dog walking and riding horses, and even after her divorce, she would continue her great friendship with Her Majesty, by walking the dogs in Frogmore and chatting." In 2023, Sarah said that the Corgis were so close to the Queen that Muick had grieved after her death. She told dog trainer and presenter Graeme Hall that it took the dog about a year to come to accept it, with Hall explaining, via The Independent, 'There's a kind of grieving process, and we know that dogs do go through a grieving process as well. We don't fully understand it because we can't chat to them over a cup of coffee, but you certainly see behavior change, sometimes they're very flat.' Meanwhile, the Queen's son King Charles and his wife Queen Camilla have dogs of their own. Between them, they currently have a Jack Russell Terrier, Bluebell, Jack Russell mix Moley – who Camilla adopted earlier this year – and King Charles' new puppy, a Lagotto Romagnolo, Snuff. Sarah Ferguson says she is 'sure' the late Queen Elizabeth is talking to her through her corgis
The Duchess of York has said she is "sure" the late Queen Elizabeth II speaks to her through her corgis. Sarah Ferguson and her ex-husband Prince Andrew inherited the Queen's corgis, Muick and Sandy, after she died in 2022. Now, Ferguson has said her former mother-in-law is communicating to her through her beloved pets. Speaking at the Creative Women Platform Forum she said: "I have her [Queen Elizabeth's] dogs, I have her corgis so every morning they come in and go 'woof woof' and I'm sure its her talking to me." She has previously said what an honour it was to have been given the dogs. The Duchess went on to say: "I had the greatest honour to be her daughter-in-law. That's pretty huge." "When I was driving here I saw the Elizabeth Line, and I said 'I want everyone to remember what an amazing lady she was." The Queen was known for her love of dogs, having owned more than 30 corgis in her lifetime. Many of her dogs are descended from her first corgi, Susan which she received for her 18th birthday present and even joined her on her Honeymoon in 1947. Willow was among the most familiar corgis of the final years of the Queen's reign. The 14th-generation Royal Corgi starred in a London 2012 Olympic sketch with the Queen, alongside Daniel Craig as James Bond. The Queen named one of the puppies - Fergus the daschund-corgi mix - after her uncle, who was killed in action during the First World War. She named the other corgi Muick (pronounced Mick) after Loch Muick on the Balmoral estate. But the monarch was devastated when five-month-old Fergus died just weeks after he was gifted to her, in the aftermath of Philip's death. He was later replaced with a new corgi puppy named Sandy, from Andrew's daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, for the Queen's 95th birthday. The Duchess of York, along with her ex-husband Prince Andrew, lives in the Royal Lodge in Windsor with her seven dogs.

Duchess of York says she is ‘sure' late Queen talks to her through corgis
Sarah, Duchess of York, has claimed the late Queen Elizabeth 'talks to her' through her corgis. The duchess adopted the late Queen's corgis, Muick and Sandy, with ex-husband Prince Andrew after the monarch's death, housing them at the Royal Lodge in Windsor. She made the comments in an address to the Creative Women Platform in London, revealing she believed that the late Queen has been communicating to her through the dogs' barking, The Times newspaper reported. 'I have her dogs, I have her corgis. Every morning they come in and go, 'woof woof' and all that and I'm sure it's her talking to me', she said. 'I'm sure it's her, reminding me she's still around.' It is not the first time the duchess has noted the dogs' remarkable connection to Queen Elizabeth II. In 2023, Sarah described how one of the corgis, Muick, had grieved after the late Queen's death. Speaking with Graeme Hall, presenter of the Channel 5 show Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly, Sarah said it took Muick about a year to come to terms with Queen Elizabeth II's death. The late Queen owned more than 30 corgis during her life, many of which were directly descended from Susan, an 18th birthday present given to her by her parents in 1944. The then Princess Elizabeth forged such a strong connection with Susan that the dog accompanied her on her honeymoon.
