Paddy Pimblett appreciates Khamzat Chimaev showing 'levels of the game' in UFC 319 win
Paddy Pimblett disagrees with the fans who booed Khamzat Chimaev's UFC 319 performance. Chimaev (15-0 MMA, 9-0 UFC) landed 12 takedowns and had over 21 minutes of control time in a lopsided decision win over Dricus Du Plessis (23-3 MMA, 9-1 UFC) to claim the middleweight title in Saturday's main event at United Center in Chicago. As Pimblett watched Chimaev hold down Du Plessis round after round, he couldn't help but praise the challenger's dominance. "For the casuals, this isn't going to be a fun fight to watch, but for people who actually do MMA and old school opinions, they'll appreciate this," Pimblett said on his YouTube channel. "I appreciate it because this is levels of the game, and Khamzat's grappling level is very high. His wrestling and MMA wrestling is brilliant. "I don't know if I've ever seen a fight like this, like champion, such a one-sided beatdown because Chimaev nearly won every second of this fight. Joe Rogan is right: Khamzat looks fresh. Everyone questioned his cardio going into this fight, and he looks sound. ...The crowd is booing. It's not Khamzat's fault that Dricus can't stop him doing this." As he wrapped up his breakdown, Pimblett didn't waste the opportunity to take a shot at fellow lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan. "Arman doing his best to get as much screen time as he can while his mate wins the belt," Pimblett said. "Closest that tool comes to touching it."

Aljamain Sterling: Lerone Murphy will 'have his work cut out for him' in UFC title fight
Aljamain Sterling warns Lerone Murphy of the challenge that awaits him in UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski. Murphy (17-0-1 MMA, 9-0-1 UFC) remained unbeaten when he scored a first-round, spinning back elbow of octagon debutant Aaron Pico in Saturday's UFC 319 co-headliner at United Center in Chicago. The incredible finish got the attention of Volkanovski (27-5 MMA, 14-4 UFC), who said a Murphy title shot is a no-brainer after UFC 319. "Lerone Murphy is a tough and smart fighter," Sterling told MMA Junkie. "Volkanovski is a tough and very smart fighter. I got to train with him, I know Volk first hand. He's a cardio machine, and very technically sound, well rounded everywhere. He's the champ and has been the champ for quite some time for a reason. So, I don't think he got there by accident. Lerone's going to have his work cut out for him." Sterling (24-5 MMA, 16-5 UFC) meets former title challenger Brian Ortega (16-4 MMA, 8-4 UFC) in Saturday's UFC Fight Night 257 co-main event from Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai, China. As he looks to enter the title picture, Sterling knows Murphy's special finish separates him from the other contenders. "It's going to be very hard for me to top a spinning back elbow," Sterling laughed. "Kudos to him, fair play, and hopefully things go well this weekend for me, and I'm at least in the conversation again."

'The Pitt' Season 2 teaser promises more emergencies in new heart-pumping shift
Feel that pit in your stomach? It may be the stress of "The Pitt" Season 2's impending return. The adrenaline-pumping medical show, which charmed fans with its "ER" reminiscent style, is back for more after its inaugural season. A new teaser, out Aug. 21, shows lead doctor Michael "Robby" Robinavitch (Noah Wyle) clocking in for a new shift at the fictional Pittsburgh hospital that serves as backdrop for "The Pitt." Without giving away much plot, the trailer offers a series of quickly strung together scenes, showing the staff dealing with various medical emergencies as pressure mounts. Noah Wyle: I play a doctor on 'The Pitt.' Real health care workers need our help. Season 2 of the series, which streams on HBO Max, will drop in January. Lauded as a realistic portrait of the challenging circumstances American medical workers face post-pandemic, "The Pitt" is a strong Emmy contender this year. Rather than chronicle months in its characters' lives, the show's entire first season took place over the course of one day. Our obsession with 'The Pitt' and other medical shows, explained Wyle, who also starred in "ER," previously told USA TODAY that putting the stethoscope back around his neck for "The Pitt" felt nostalgic. "I didn't know that a prop could ever be endowed with as much muscle memory and history as a stethoscope for me," he said. "But it's true. It's just weird." Contributing: Bryan Alexander
