A 24-year-old man was killed when the side-by-side he was driving was in a collision with a pickup truck.
The crash happened around 6:45 p.m. Friday on County Road 67 just outside Elgin in Wabasha County, with a Dodge Ram truck and a Polaris RZR colliding.
The driver of the Polaris, identified as Skyler Helgeson, was pronounced dead at the scene. A male passenger was also in the Polaris, but there was no information provided by the Wabasha County Sheriff's Office regarding his injuries.
The driver of the Dodge was a 34-year-old man. There is also no word on his injuries.
The investigation into the crash continues.

LITTLE BLACK, Wis. (WFRV) – One man is dead following a crash Sunday morning in Wisconsin that authorities say was caused by speed and alcohol. According to a release from the Taylor County Sheriff's Office, Deputies responded at 6:15 a.m. to reports of a single-vehicle crash on Gibson Drive in the Town of Little Black with an injured man appearing to be ejected from his vehicle. Deputies and other emergency responders arrived at the scene, where they found a black Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck overturned on its roof in a ditch with extensive damage to all areas. United Airlines flight attendants are set for big pay increases under the terms of a tentative agreement. The United branch of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA reached a tentative deal with the airline on May 23. The first details of the deal were published on Tuesday. It states that cabin crew members would receive pay increases up to 45.6% over the contract's five-year timeframe. The immediate raise would be as much as 27.8%, meaning a rise in hourly pay for those in their first year from $28.88 to $36.92. By the end of the contract, the starting pay would be $42.06 an hour. The proposed increases for longer-serving flight attendants would be between 26% to almost 28%. It means pay for the longest-serving staff would jump from $67.11 an hour to $84.78. By the end of the contract, the hourly rate would be $96.58. Flight attendants are typically only paid for the time of the flight, but the tentative agreement also includes half-pay during boarding. Delta Air Lines was the first in the US to introduce this back in 2022. There is also a one-off payment for retroactive pay. The union said it was an "industry-leading" formula worth $595 million, which compensates for the lack of a cost-of-living raise for United flight attendants since 2020. Contract negotiations have dragged on while competitors have ratified their own agreements. On May 13, about a dozen flight attendants gatecrashed a press event unveiling United's new Polaris business class to highlight the lack of a deal. American Airlines flight attendants ratified a deal last September that gave them an immediate pay increase of up to 20.5%. Five months earlier, Southwest Airlines flight attendants won a 22.3% pay increase. Delta flight attendants, who aren't unionized, have received annual pay increases. The latest put the starting wage at $36.92 — the same as United's tentative contract. The United AFA is set to hold a road show, both virtually and at airports nationwide, before voting opens on July 7. Voting closes on July 29. If the contract is approved by union members, it will take effect the following day.

The Lynx continued their perfect start to the season, dominating the Phoenix Mercury 88-65 Tuesday at Target Center in Minneapolis, improving to 8-0 in the young season. The Lynx are just the eighth team in WNBA history to start a season 8-0. They also hold the all-time record for most consecutive wins to start a season with 13 in 2016. Still a ways to go, but the 2025 team is well on its way to a similar start. It was a bit of a slow start though on Tuesday. Despite shooting a stellar 8 for 15 from the field in the opening frame, Minnesota had five turnovers and faced a 23-19 deficit after 10 minutes. The Lynx came storming back, holding the Mercury (5-3) to just 26 points total over the next two frames as they built a 18-point lead entering the fourth. That stifling defense pretty much put a wrap on the game. Phoenix wasn't able to cut much into its big fourth-quarter deficit, never getting closer than 15. After that, Napheesa Collier got to the rim for an and-1, Bridget Carleton drilled a 3-pointer and Kayla McBride added another from deep to push the advantage back up to 24 points. Carleton's 3 also marked a milestone: She scored the 1,000th point of her career. Both teams emptied their benches with several minutes still remaining in the fourth. The Lynx were dominant despite an uncharacteristically sloppy night as the turnovers never slowed down after that opening quarter. Minnesota had 23 giveaways overall.
