Kirsten Dunst open to starring in ‘Minecraft 2' as she reflects on future film choices

Oscar-nominated actress Kirsten Dunst has revealed she would consider appearing in Minecraft 2, citing her children's love for the original film and a desire for more practical career decisions.
Speaking to Town & Country magazine, Dunst reflected on balancing artistic projects with more commercial roles. 'Maybe I can just make a movie where I don't lose money?' she remarked, noting that her children enjoyed the blockbuster hit.
A Minecraft Movie earned $955 million worldwide, ranking as the third highest-grossing film of 2025 despite mixed reviews.
The film adaptation of the hit video game features Jason Momoa, Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks, and Sebastian Eugene Hansen as a band of misfits transported into a strange block-shaped world. Guided by a skilled crafter played by Jack Black, they set out on a fantastical journey to find their way back home.
Dunst is best known for her collaborations with directors such as Sofia Coppola, Lars von Trier, Jane Campion and Alex Garland and is set to star in the thriller Reptilia alongside Mikey Madison.
The actress has previously balanced independent films with mainstream successes, including her role as Mary Jane in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy.
In an interview last year, she said she would gladly return to the superhero genre, acknowledging both the financial stability and the family responsibilities that influence her career decisions.

Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet breakup rumors intensify amid busy schedules

Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet are facing renewed breakup rumors, with insiders suggesting the couple's romance may be little more than a carefully staged 'showmance.' RadarOnline reports that the 28-year-old entrepreneur and the 29-year-old Oscar-nominated actor have not been seen together publicly for over a month, sparking speculation about their relationship status. Although Jenner recently liked one of Chalamet's Instagram posts and joined him briefly in Budapest on August 20, where he is filming Dune: Part Three, sources claim these gestures were orchestrated to give the impression of unity. 'They haven't seen each other for weeks because Timothée's been filming in Budapest, while Kylie has been working in Los Angeles,' one insider told RadarOnline 'They FaceTime and miss each other, but they're leading separate lives, and the end feels inevitable.' Another source added that Chalamet's filming commitments, which will soon take him to Jordan and Abu Dhabi, continue to clash with Jenner's responsibilities as a mother and business owner. Despite having access to private travel, the distance and demanding schedules are reportedly creating strain. Jenner, who built her empire through Kylie Cosmetics, Kylie Skin, and her fashion label Khy, recently celebrated her 28th birthday with her mother Kris Jenner, Hailey Bieber, and Justin Bieber. Meanwhile, Chalamet continues to build his career, recently earning a second Academy Award nomination for his performance in A Complete Unknown. The couple began dating in January 2023 and went public later that year. While neither Jenner nor Chalamet has commented on the speculation, sources suggest they are 'reluctant to split' but face mounting challenges.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller to produce new Archie Comics live-action film for Universal

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the filmmakers behind Spider-Verse, The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street, are set to produce a live-action adaptation of Archie Comics. The film will be made under their first-look deal with Universal Pictures alongside Aditya Sood, president of their company Lord Miller. Comic book writer Tom King is attached to write the screenplay, though no plot details have been revealed. In its 85-year history, Archie Comics has sold more than 3 billion copies worldwide, translated into dozens of languages. Its characters, including Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Reggie, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Josie and the Pussycats and Katy Keene, have appeared on screens in multiple adaptations. Recent portrayals include the CW series Riverdale, and Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and The Archies. 'We are longtime fans of Archie, Veronica, Betty, and the gang in all of their iterations,' said Lord and Miller. 'When we heard Tom King's take on the classic material, we instantly thought it made sense as an event movie for all audiences — both lifelong fans and a whole new generation. We're so excited to bring these beloved characters to the big screen.' Emma Watts, who developed the project with King, will produce the untitled feature along with Archie Comics publisher Jon Goldwater. Universal executives Britt Hennemuth and Christine Sun will oversee for the studio.

Florence Pugh rumoured to return as Yelena Belova in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day'

Florence Pugh is rumoured to reprise her role as Yelena Belova in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, according to industry insider Daniel RPK. If confirmed, the appearance would be Pugh's fifth outing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following her debut in Black Widow and her role in Thunderbolts. Details on her involvement remain unclear. Reports suggest her part could range from a cameo to a more significant role as an ally to Peter Parker, though Marvel and Sony have yet to officially confirm the casting. With Pugh's character now central to the evolving MCU narrative, her presence could serve to link The New Avengers, Spider-Man, and the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker alongside Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned. New additions to the cast include Sadie Sink from Stranger Things, Jon Bernthal reprising his role as The Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, and Emmy-winning actress Liza Colón-Zayas. The ensemble continues Marvel's trend of expanding its interconnected storytelling across franchises. The film began production in Scotland this month under the direction of Destin Daniel Cretton, with Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal co-producing. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set for release on July 31, 2026.
