Gulf Bank launches Bug Bounty and Vulnerability Disclosure Program
Gulf Bank believes that collaborating with the global cyber researcher community is one of the most powerful tools for creating a secure, reliable digital platform and supports the march towards a more secure ecosystem. As this program is part of the Bank's ongoing strategy to adopt the latest technological solutions in cybersecurity. The program also reflects the Bank's commitment to transparency and openness to specialized expertise.
Speaking about the launch event, Mr. Ross McNaughton, Chief Information Security Officer at Gulf Bank said:
"The launch of the Bug Bounty and Disclosure programme represents the next step towards enhancing the security of the products and services offered by the Bank. It contributes to the early detection and effective resolution of vulnerabilities, issue, error or technical glitch, thereby improving digital protection and increasing customer trust. The program also provides a rapid response mechanism for security risks and serves as a technical platform to support innovation, trial new services and build an active, collaborative cybersecurity community.
He added: "The success of this program will enhance customer confidence in the Bank's digital services and reflects our ongoing commitment to lead in protecting our customers data, swift and continual innovation and development in cybersecurity. It also adopts leading global practices with Cybersecurity community engagement, helping the Bank support cybersecurity advancement in Kuwait and across the region."
Gulf Bank launch an open invitation to all cybersecurity professionals, researcher and enthusiast 'hackers' to participate in its Vulnerability Disclosure Program and Bug Bounty programme. Any Individual with the knowledge and skills to analyze and identify security weaknesses, hack or hacking, is eligible to be part of this professional initiative.
Mr. McNaughton concluded by saying: 'If you believe you have discovered a security vulnerability or feature that could impact the Bank's systems or services, we encourage you to report it immediately through the official channel and you may be eligible for a financial reward. The rewards' value will be determined by the Bank's specialized team based on the severity of the reported issue.

ACWA Power to boost project share to $2.5bln annually
Saudi-listed power and water projects giant ACWA Power is planning to expand its contribution to projects in the next years to up to $2.5 billion annually following its decision to raise capital by 7.1 billion Saudi riyals ($1.9 billion) through rights issue, an executive has said. The recent Board decision to expand capital is also designed to support a long-term growth strategy which targets tripling its assets under management to nearly $250 billion by 2030, said Abdul Hamid Al-Muhaidib, ACWA Power's CFO. 'That decision also aims to strengthen our financial position to support the expected expansion in our investments, especially in high growth sectors like renewable energy, water desalination and green hydrogen,' he told the Saudi daily Aliqtisadia. 'With these expansions, we expect our contribution to new projects to increase to $2-2.5 billion annually during 2024-2030 compared with $1.3 billion in previous years.' Al-Muhaidib said key markets include Saudi Arabia besides southeast Asia and China, adding that ACWA Power aims to surpass 175 gigawatts (GW) production in its energy projects. 'As for green hydrogen, we expect our production to reach one million tonnes when the projects under way are completed by 2030…we also expect an additional one million tonnes from new projects during this period,' he said. In June 2025, Zawya Projects had reported that the company intends to spend 53 to 60 percent of the proceeds from its rights issue on projects in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Saudi Arabia unveils new skill-based system for expatriate work permits
RIYADH — Saudi Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmed Al-Rajhi has issued a decision classifying the work permits of expatriate workers into three main skill categories: high-skill, skilled, and basic. The classification of existing work permits and technical system upgrades began on June 18 for expatriates currently working in the Saudi labor market. The classification would take effect for incoming expatriate workers as of July 1. The ministry has issued a guidance manual outlining all the details of the decision, which is available on its official website. This decision is part of the ministry's broader efforts to foster a more attractive and efficient labor market, develop human capital, and enhance the business environment, contributing to achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Program. The measure aims to enhance worker performance, attract global talent to transfer expertise and experience to the Saudi labor market, improve operational efficiency, benefit from international experience, and build an environment that supports innovation and the development of business models. Saudi Arabia is among world's top donors with assistance worth $140.8bln
RIYADH — The Saudi Aid Platform has revealed that the total value of financial assistance provided by Saudi Arabia to around the world is amounted to approximately SR528.4 billion ($140.9 billion), cementing the Kingdom's position as one of the largest donors globally. The Saudi official platform revealed that Egypt topped the list of countries that benefited most from Saudi aid, with a total of $32.49 billion, followed by Yemen with $27.69 billion, and then Pakistan with $13.19 billion. The list of countries that benefited the most also included Syria: $7.53 billion; Iraq: $7.33 billion; and Palestine: $5.37 billion. These figures reflect the Kingdom's commitment to its humanitarian and development role by supporting peoples and countries in confronting humanitarian crises and natural disasters, and achieving sustainable development. These efforts are part of the realization of Saudi Vision 2030 goals that focus on strengthening international partnerships and establishing the Kingdom as a pillar of regional and international peace and stability, under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. It is noteworthy that the Saudi Aid Platform is the precise electronic reference for the Kingdom's foreign contributions. The platform is divided into three categories: humanitarian, development and philanthropic projects, contributions to international organizations and bodies, and visitors' services (refugees living inside the Kingdom). The Saudi Aid Platform, inaugurated by King Salman in 2018, highlights the size and type of assistance provided by Saudi Arabia. The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) re-launched this platform.
