ITV's Genius Game in huge shake up just weeks after launch as episodes are pulled from schedules
ITV show Genius Game has found itself hit by a huge schedule shake-up after bombing in the ratings.
The programme, fronted by David Tennant, launched to much fanfare and hype but has become one of ITV 's lowest-performing shows in recent years.

Originally scheduled to air every Wednesday and Thursday in the primetime 9pm slot, ITV execs have now stripped the Thursday episode in order to air it just once a week.
It means the programme will now continue on just Wednesdays over the next six weeks.
Last week, a mere 800,000 people tuned into the programme - one of ITV's lowest 9pm figures.
Another of ITV's latest commissions, The Fortune Hotel, managed to bring in just shy of 2.5million viewers for one episode last year - a stark difference to the seemingly doomed fortune of Genius Game.
Over on the BBC, Race Across The World, which airs in the same timeslot as Genius Game, thrashed the programme when it came to viewers - achieving a new series peak of 5.9million viewers.
Fan complaints were rife from the start with many arguing the show's format was too complicated.
One viewer said "bye bye" just 10 minutes into the show.
As another person said: "I MUST stop giving up on things too quickly but honestly, ten minutes in and I'm getting annoyed by #GeniusGame."
Before a third then penned: "Bit boring, very confusing, turned it off."
The new series is adapted from a South Korean format as it brings together a few of the country's most clever and sharp minds.
In the show, contestants participate in a selection of never-before-seen games.
The games are "all designed to not only test their intellectual acumen but encourage them to carefully and creatively use the art of manipulation to outfox their opponents and win a cash prize".
With 11 players who are all extremely intellectual and clever, the game comprises of 12 rounds before a winner is crowned.
Each round consists of a main match and a death match.
And each player takes part in the main match before a winner and eliminated player is determined.
Those who win the main match receive a Token of Life, which grants them immunity from the death match.
The player who places last in the main match will then choose another player to face in the death match.

Red Arrows to fly past East Midlands Airport
The Red Arrows are set to carry out a flypast as part of a special event to mark the diamond anniversary of East Midlands Airport. The world famous aerobatic team will visible above the East Midlands Aeropark on the afternoon of Sunday 20 July. A Spitfire from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will also fly over the site on the same day, while a Dakota aircraft will conduct a flypast on Monday 21 July. The flypasts are part of a three-day event from 19 to 21 July to mark the 60th anniversary of the airport being opened by Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh on 21 July 1965. Visitors will also have the chance to see aircraft landing, taxiing and taking off from East Midlands Airport's event will include games, food stalls, community stalls, a bouncy castle and children's entertainment, which will run from 10:00 to 18:00 BST each day. East Midlands Airport's Managing Director Steve Griffiths said: "We're really grateful to the RAF for agreeing to treat the crowds to flypasts of some heritage aircraft, perhaps particularly poignant as we mark the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War this year, as well as the ever-popular Red Arrows."

Professionals to perform young Shrewsbury writer's first play
A young writer is set to see her name in lights as the first play she has ever written will be performed on stage by professional actors. Meg Vaughan, 25, from Shrewsbury, said she had very little theatre experience before she set pen to paper as part of a six-month script-writing course run by the South Shropshire theatre company, rural performance group offers training to a selection of young writers aged 16 to 30 years old, who are based in the West Midlands or Shropshire, every year, with the end of the course culminating in a live production of their work. Ms Vaughan said it was going to be "amazing" to see her words brought to life. She had previously written long-form fiction in the hope of "writing a book one day", she said, but had decided to "branch out" when she heard about the company's course. "It's a really rare thing to get someone to put on your play," she added. With her limited theatre experience, Ms Vaughan decided to do some research by attending live performances, which included National Theatre part of the Pentabus course, Ms Vaughan took part in workshops to learn how to build tension and create characters. She said she was still working on her script but described the play as "an old man walks into a bar type of scenario". "He has a mysterious side to him, and the bartender is quite bored, so it all unravels from there." 'It's hard to only rely on dialogue' "It was difficult to condense all my thoughts down into dialogue," Ms Vaughan said "In my previous work I have been able to rely on descriptions."She added that the play must only be 10 minutes, and the time restraint had offered an additional challenge. However, she described the first read-through with professional actors as a "game-changer". "You hear it aloud for the first time, and you can then see what people bring to it and see how what you have written is brought to life."Her play will be performed alongside the work of eight other young playwrights on 9 and 10 July at the Assembly Rooms in Ludlow. Riverside Festival returns to Leicester for 2025
Leicester's free Riverside Festival is returning to the city on Saturday and family-friendly event will take place around the River Soar's mile straight and will include boat rides, kayaking, dragon boat races, live music and performances, craft markets, food and drink and a pop-up art will also take place at Bede Park, Castle Gardens, Western Boulevard, and De Montford University, as well as The Newarke Houses Museum, which will be part of the festival for the first Montford University's Cultural eXchanges Festival, which is organised by students, has also been merged into the festival for the first time and will include dance, performances and workshops. A dedicated family zone will be set up in a tipi in Bede park and will include mini discos, bubble parties and entertainment from noon to 14:00 BST on both days. Live music will also be performed by local artists across both days on the Piazza Stage, with acoustic sessions held in Castle Gardens nearby. A 17th Century living history camp will recreate the Siege of Leicester during the civil war in 1645, with a re-enactment at The Newarke from 14:00 to 15:00 on both Vi Dempster, assistant city mayor for leisure and culture, said: "Like all our festivals, the aim of the Riverside Festival is to bring people together."It's also a chance to showcase the diversity of our communities and enjoy the food, music, dance and arts that make Leicester so special."I hope that the weather will be kind to us and we can look forward to a fun-packed Riverside Festival that will offer something for everyone."The event will take place from noon until 18:00 on Saturday and noon until 17:00 on Sunday.
