Becky Lynch returns to WWE at WrestleMania 41
On the same night that Joe Hendry appeared at WrestleMania, there was an even bigger surprise return on Sunday in the Women's Tag Team Championship match.
Lyra Valkyria was scheduled to challenge champions Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez along with her partner Bayley - but Bayley was attacked backstage and was not cleared to wrestle. Valkyria was given 24 hours to find a new tag partner, and she couldn't have made a better choice.
After nearly 11 months since her last match, Becky Lynch returned to a raucous ovation from fans to seek revenge against Morgan. Lynch's last match was a loss to Morgan in a steel cage in May 2024. The following month it was reported that Lynch was no longer under contract with WWE.
It looks like Lynch will be sticking around. Lynch hit Morgan with a Manhandle Slam and scored the pinfall to win the titles.

WWE's R-Truth debacle scratches at one of the biggest dilemmas in pro-wrestling
You know things are going swimmingly when you're emulating Michael Scott. Anyone who hasn't watched "The Office" might be unfamiliar with Steve Carrell's manager character's penchant for so-called 'fake firings' — a hapless tactic which now seems to have found favor with the most powerful man in professional wrestling. Here's a quick recap of how we got here: Last Sunday, the WWE lifer R-Truth announced that he had parted ways with the company, in what looked like a pretty unceremonious departure. The news was more surprising given that, just eight days earlier, the beloved WWE veteran had battled John Cena in a match that had proved to be an impressive merch-shifter at Saturday Night's Main Event. Advertisement For much of last week, the story rumbled on behind the scenes, with various WWE stars praising Truth and reliable reporters — hat tip, as always, to Sean Ross Sapp — picking up the backstage discontent around the decision. On Monday night, there was a bit of a social media explosion when the 'WWE Raw' fans chanted multiple times for Truth, making their displeasure clear. By the time the weekend rolled out, the narrative seemed to have settled. Truth might be approaching his 30-year anniversary with WWE, but wrestling is an unsentimental business at heart — certainly with TKO in charge. In any event, Truth's long service probably meant that his salary had reached levels that couldn't be justified. Then at last night's Money in the Bank everything changed. During the final stages of the main event — a tag match pitting Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso against John Cena and Logan Paul — a mysterious hooded figure slid into the ring to thwart the heels and deliver a beatdown to Cena. Who was this crusader of justice? R-Truth. Advertisement 'All part of the show,' gloated WWE/Dunder Mifflin man Triple H at the post-event press conference, making the audacious suggestion that the whole thing had been what wrestling fans like to call 'a work' — i.e. a fictional plot to wrong-foot us all by thinking that a respected employee had been fired in order to maximize the emotional impact of his eventual return. It wouldn't be the wildest thing to happen in WWE. But the problem is that all reliable signs point to it being, well, bullcrap — or at the very least extremely unlikely. For a start, Truth's release came at the same time as other departures (Carlito and Valhalla were also let go). Then there's the wave of WWE talents who have confirmed they thought the release was real, and the fact that R-Truth's own son was apparently duped by this grand conspiracy. That leaves us with two possibilities: Either WWE successfully executed perhaps one of its greatest modern swerves in history (albeit one based on a rather distasteful premise) or they realized the error of their ways in terminating a fan favorite and instead rushed to rectify it by orchestrating his 'surprise' return. Which do you think is more likely? It certainly wouldn't be the first time Triple H's empire has called an audible. We all remember the infamous u-turn before WrestleMania XL, where WWE tried to pivot from Cody Rhodes winning the Royal Rumble to instead set up The Rock vs. Roman Reigns, before abandoning those plans after a sizable fan backlash. We also know how WWE dealt with that particular humdinger: By putting out a vanity documentary which implied the whole thing had been a roaring success. (They can believe what they like, but I'm sure I'm not the only wrestling fan who still shudders when I hear Cody saying '... but not at WrestleMania.') Advertisement A number of pundits have already asked the question — at least rhetorically — as to why Triple H didn't just hold up his hands and say something like, 'Look, we got a mistake on this one, but I'm glad we could sort it out.' I don't think they're being naive to assume that WWE fans would've respected the honesty of the situation. Philosophically, though, this whole Truth debacle scratches at one of the biggest dilemmas in pro-wrestling. Deep down, we all know that the product only works if we agree to suspend our disbelief and allow ourselves to be tricked and manipulated at times. But we also assume there are some things that are off-limits when it comes to rug-pulls. If this really was a work, then it leaves me with the same grubby feeling I had when NXT did that neck injury angle involving Ilja Dragunov and Ridge Holland (a man who was involved, albeit not through any fault on his part, in the unfortunate and very genuine neck injury to Big E). There are some things that should be off-limits for storyline purposes and someone genuinely losing their livelihood is on that list. You can protest all you like about what's 'best for business,' but that ignores the potential commercial ramifications here. TKO is a publicly-listed business, whose stock price depends partly on the quality and availability of the talent. If these things are presented as legitimate news stories (at the encouragement of WWE), that could have serious consequences. Advertisement And how about the next time WWE announces another unfortunate wave of releases? Are we expected to factor in that the whole thing could be a ruse aimed at drumming up fan interest in saving the skin of our favorite talents? If that's the case, we're really through the looking glass here. 'You enjoying the show?' Triple H asked upon taking his seat at Saturday night's presser. Well, yes, I was actually — but after this fiasco I can't be the only one who is seeing things a bit differently this morning.

Sure he has friends, but so many are out to get him. He's a longshot, but I'm sticking with my boy Solo Sikoa to grab the briefcase. He needs it. He's done a lot to make other people look good, he's built other guys, he's been everything WWE could want. Put the belt on him and let him go toe to toe with Jacob Fatu. I'm predicting Solo Sikoa wins. Women's Money in the Bank match Once again, I'm going with the wrestler who deserves it the most. All are deserving, all are capable of big things, but Naomi is who I'm going with. She helped Jade Cargill look great at WrestleMania, and while she held up her end of the bargain, Naomi was the veteran leading that match. She's been a pretty entertaining bad girl, and I'd like to see her with some gold. Naomi wins. Lyra Valkyria vs. Becky Lynch Becky Lynch has helped make Lyra Valkyria a star. And Valkyria is doing her best to hang right there with one of the best women in the world. Guess what? She doesn't at all look out of place. Not in the ring, not even on the microphone where Lynch is one of the best. I thought Valkyria was the star last month and she was great leading up to this rematch. I think she does it again. Valkyria wins. Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso vs. John Cena and Logan Paul This match has two of my favorites (Jey Uso, Logan Paul) and two of the biggest stars in the world. But I have little interest in it. It will be fun, and I'm looking forward to what this match leads to, so that will be cool, but I have little interest in who wins. I'm banking on the bad guys winning, and I think Uso and Paul will make the match fun. Cena's matches haven't been good during this championship run. I hope he somehow wins without kicking someone low. Prediction: Logan Paul and John Cena win. WWE's 'The Miz' suggests Chiefs star for American Gladiators, talks Browns fandom This week, Chiefs Wire's Ed Easton Jr. spoke to Mike 'The Miz' Mizanin about his participation in this year's American Century Championship, which will take place July 9-13 at Edgewood Tahoe, his earliest memory of the Cleveland Browns fandom, and hosting the upcoming American Gladiators reboot while name dropping Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce as an ideal Gladiator. The Kelce brothers are confirmed to be Miz's competition again this year, as he will seek a better finish than last year's tournament. Miz is an Ohio native and a die-hard Browns fan, having witnessed the franchise's ups and downs. Cleveland's last divisional round postseason appearance was against Kansas City in 2020, when they lost at Arrowhead Stadium 17-22. He recalled his earliest memory of the team as a child attending school, singing about their quarterback, Bernie Kosar. "I believe I was in, like, fifth grade, and I was going to school in the bus, and we were just singing, Bernie, Bernie, oh baby Super Bowl," said Miz, "So, yeah, I remember that verbatim, and I also remember us not making it to the Super Bowl. I believe that year was either the fumble or the drive. I'm not sure which one, but those are the two things that really screwed us." The former WWE champion was recently named host of the upcoming reboot of American Gladiators on Prime Video. "I can't wait. I think, with this show, we're gonna, you know, give a nod to what, what American Gladiators was in the past, and elevate it and put it, you know, with 100% and go literally, ball to the wall, if you will." said Miz, "I mean, American Gladiators is a staple, and now to be the host of American Gladiators. It's an absolute honor, and I take it very, very seriously. I want to make sure that this show is everything people imagine it to be and more, and it will be. I can't wait for people to meet the Gladiators. I can't wait for people to see the events, and I can't wait for people to see me as the host." During a recent appearance on NFL Network's Good Morning Football, Miz suggested that Chiefs star Travis Kelce would make a great addition to the show as a Gladiator. "I'm gonna go with two tight ends. I'm gonna go, George Kittle, I'm gonna go with Travis Kelce, because of personality," said Miz during the broadcast, "A Gladiator has to have a great personality, and got to be out there, not only do that be physically dominating but they got to be someone, either you're root for, or you're gonna boo kind of like a WWE superstar." The annual tournament awards $750,000 in prize money, much of which the celebrity players donate to local and national charities. Over the years, nearly $8 million has been donated to non-profit causes.
