ACB notice to KTR politically motivated, avers Kavitha
Hyderabad: Despite political differences among the top BRS leadership, party senior leader and MLC Kavitha on Monday came in support of party's working president KT Rama Rao. She condemned the ACB notices issued to her brother and party leader in the Formula e-race scam.
In a strongly worded reaction, Kavitha said, 'I strongly condemn the Revanth Reddy government issuing notices to KTR as a conspiracy to cover up their failures and divert attention from public issues. It is clear that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has issued ACB notices as part of his dirty political game. There is a political motive behind issuing a series of notices to our party leaders. KCR's soldiers have a history of standing firm, no matter who tries to cause them any trouble,' said Kavitha.
Senior leader T Harish Rao said that Revanth Reddy's vendetta politics was a clear sign of insecurity. 'Fabricated cases won't stand in court or win public trust. We stand with KTR, truth will prevail. Satyameva Jayate,' said Rao.

AAP's Jain appears before ACB in classroom scam case
NEW DELHI: Former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain on Friday appeared before the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) for questioning in connection with an alleged corruption case concerning the construction of classrooms in government schools. Jain had been summoned by the ACB to appear for questioning. Before heading to the ACB office, he maintained that the previous AAP government had prioritised education in the city, unlike the present BJP-led administration. 'The previous AAP government in the national capital worked towards improving the city's education, while the current BJP government is only doing politics,' Jain said. The ACB had earlier summoned AAP leaders, former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia and former PWD minister Satyendar Jain in connection with the case. Jain was asked to appear on June 6, and Sisodia has been summoned for June 9, according to officials. In April, the ACB registered a case against AAP leaders, alleging corruption in the construction of classrooms at inflated costs. The agency claimed that a scam worth Rs 2,000 crore had been uncovered in the construction of 12,748 classrooms and buildings during the tenure of the AAP government. The complaints were filed by Delhi BJP spokesperson Harish Khurana, BJP MLA Kapil Mishra, and Neelkanth Bakshi of the BJP's media relations department. They alleged corruption in the construction of approximately 12,748 school classrooms at an expenditure of Rs 2,892 crore. According to the ACB, the awarded tender cost for building a classroom was around Rs 24.86 lakh, while such a room could have been constructed for Rs 5 lakh. It was further alleged that the project was awarded to 34 contractors, many of whom are reportedly linked to the AAP. Joint Commissioner of Police (ACB) Madhur Verma said, 'It was decided in meetings of the expenditure finance committee for 2015-16 that the project would be completed by June 2016 at the sanctioned cost without any scope for future cost escalations. But not even a single work was completed within the prescribed time and significant cost escalations were observed.'

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], June 7 (ANI): Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stated that his goal is to fulfil the dreams and aspirations of the people of Telangana and make the state a 'One Trillion US dollar' economy. CM Reddy was speaking at an event on Friday, where he laid the foundation stones for development works worth Rs 1051.45 crores in Alair Assembly Constituency. The Chief Minister maintained that everyone is equal before the law. Big leaders have appeared in the courts and deposed before the commissions. He came down heavily on BRS leaders for criticising the government for giving the leader a single notice. He demanded KCR answer the questions raised by his daughter. Reiterating that the government is committed to making one crore women millionaires, the CM said the opposition was making a hue and cry without any reason. 'Is it not true that the Rs 2 lakh loan was waived and farmers are relieved from mounting debt burdens? The Chief Minister lambasted the opposition for making allegations against the government on the Paddy procurement. The government enacted a law to provide 42 cent reservation to the BCs by conducting a caste census and made it inevitable for the central government to conduct the caste census across the country. We also fulfilled the dream of decades of struggle on SC subcategorisation,' Reddy said. Listing out the welfare and development programs launched by the Congress government, CM Revanth Reddy said that the Young India Skills University is providing skill development to unemployed youth. Further, the CM said that free RTC bus travel is provided to women and cooking gas cylinders at only Rs 500. 'Is it not true that Rs. 21,000 crores of bank linkage loans were given to women Self Help Groups? Is it not true that women's groups are given the responsibility of the management of Amma Adarsha schools?' the CM questioned. The CM took a swipe at the opposition for questioning the government on water supply. It was the Congress government that constructed the SRSP and Mid Manair dams. ' We are aware of how to supply water to Gandamalla'. The Chief Minister affirmed that the People's Government was formed with the blessings of Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy in Yadagirigutta, and the government decided to constitute the Yadagirigutta Temple Development Board on the lines of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam ( TTD). Announcing that a medical college will be developed on par with a university under the auspices of Yadagirigutta temple, the CM said that he had made the promise of cleansing the Musi river during his Padayatra on November 8. He reiterated that the Government is committed to rejuvenating Musi despite facing obstacles. PM Modi can clean the Sabarmati and Ganga rivers, but shouldn't we clean the Musi? Do our Nalgonda children have to live in the filth of Musi?. The CM said the government will move forward against all odds and revive the Musi river. The land of Nalgonda is synonymous with consciousness and it has a history of fighting against the Nizam's tyranny. Revanth Reddy warned that Nalgonda people will not sit calmly if anyone spreads false propaganda against the government. The Nalgonda district got a raw deal in the previous BRS government. Not a single project, including the SLBC, was taken up for the last 10 years. The Chief Minister recounted the incidents that happened during KCR's visit to Vasalamarri village. One old woman was hospitalised after consuming a fruit offered by KCR, and also demolished the houses in the village. He instructed the officials to take up development works in the abandoned village. The CM also recalled his statement that he would dethrone the BRS government and made it in the assembly elections. ' I knocked down the previous government and assumed the CM office, he said, adding that he has no more desires and ambitions and his only goal remains to make Telangana a role model for the country. Harish raps Uttam for misleading people on key irrigation projects
Hyderabad: Over the alleged failure to protect Telangana's water interests and favouring Andhra Pradesh, BRS senior leader T Harish Rao on Friday said that while Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was the brand ambassador of lies, Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy surpassed even the CM. Harish Rao accused them of failing to protect Telangana's water interests while favouring Andhra Pradesh while addressing a press conference at Dubbaka here on Friday. Harish Rao criticised Uttam Kumar Reddy for misleading the people on key irrigation projects. He alleged that the Congress government halted the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation works initiated by the previous BRS government, only to restart them later for political gains. Harish Rao mocked Uttam Kumar Reddy for meeting Andhra Pradesh's former CM Chandrababu Naidu and then remaining passive while Telangana's water rights were being compromised. He accused the Congress government of using the lowest-ever Krishna River water allocations in state history, depriving farmers in Khammam, Nalgonda, and Mahbubnagar of irrigation. Rao said that under temporary allocations, Telangana received 65 tmcft less water, leaving 6.5 lakh acres parched. Harish Rao demanded answers from Uttam Kumar Reddy, asking why he remained silent while Andhra Pradesh allegedly diverted 400 tmcft of Godavari water illegally. He slammed Uttam Kumar Reddy for failing to prepare for the Babli project despite being the Irrigation Minister. He questioned why the government had not approached the Supreme Court or pressured the Centre to stop Andhra's unauthorised projects. Rao criticised BJP leaders for not speaking up against Andhra Pradesh's alleged water theft. He warned that if the state government did not act, BRS would approach the Supreme Court. Harish Rao accused the Congress government of deceiving employees by forming multiple committees instead of fulfilling promises on Dearness Allowance (DA) and Pay Revision Commission (PRC) benefits. He demanded immediate release of pending DAs and better PRC benefits than those given under the previous BRS government. He dismissed CM Revanth Reddy's claims that Kaleshwaram was collapsing, arguing that projects like Gandhamalla, Mallannasagar, and Ranganayak Sagar depend on it. He challenged the CM to explain how water would reach Gandhamalla if Kaleshwaram was truly defunct.
