Steve Perry auctions some of his Journey collection for Altadena wildfire victims
Musician Steve Perry is auctioning off some pieces in his collection of Journey memorabilia to help raise funds for Altadena wildfire victims. Bids are rolling in for Perry's handwritten lyrics to "Don't Stop Believin'," his own gold and platinum records, albums from his collection, a couple of cassettes, CDs, bass guitars, vintage tour merchandise, and more – all signed by Perry. The new archival memorabilia platform, Darkives Collectibles, is launching the Steve Perry Archives, with over 50 "never-before-available" pieces, now available. The site says that all the musical pieces are graded and authenticated. A rare signed "JRNEYFAN" New York license plate that was thrown on stage during a New Jersey show has reached $1,175 with 17 bids, as of Thursday morning. "These pieces have been carefully stored for many years, and now I feel it's the right time to pass them on from my hands to yours, to be enjoyed, remembered, and treasured in your own personal collections," Perry wrote on the auction website. "And most importantly, all the proceeds from this archive sale will go to support victims of the Los Angeles fires with the help of Sweet Relief Musicians Fund." The fund's mission is to provide financial assistance to all types of "career musicians and music industry workers who are struggling to make ends meet while facing physical or mental health issues, disability, or age-related problems." Steve Perry was the lead singer of Journey from 1977 to 1987 and again from 1995 to 1998. He wrote and co-wrote several of the band's greatest hits, including "Don't Stop Believin," "Any Way You Want It," "Open Arms," and "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)." The Steve Perry Archive Collection auction is set to end at noon on June 13.

Handwritten ‘Don't Stop Believin' lyrics up for auction as part of Steve Perry's new charity effort
The former Journey frontman is auctioning off more than 50 items from his personal collection, including handwritten 'Don't Stop Believin' lyrics, vintage tour merchandise, signed guitars, test pressings, and gold and platinum records. 'Every item in this collection comes directly from my personal archive,' Perry said in a statement. 'These pieces have been carefully stored for many years, and now I feel it's the right time to pass them on from my hands to yours, to be enjoyed, remembered and treasured in your own personal collections.' Fans can bid on the rare items online now through noon on June 13. The auction is a partnership with Darkives Collectables, a new archival memorabilia site helmed by Dhani Harrision, the son of the Beatles' guitarist George Harrison, and Dark Horse Records. All proceeds are expected to benefit Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, a nonprofit providing financial assistance to musicians and other music industry workers. The organization will help distribute funds to victims of the devastating fires that swept Los Angeles in January. 'We're excited to have Steve Perry as our inaugural partner on the brand-new Darkives Collectables auction site,' Harrison said in a statement. 'His continued generosity makes him the perfect artist to help launch this platform, and we're honored to support the causes that matter most to him.' In another return to his former San Francisco rock band, Perry recently rerecorded its 1983 ballad 'Faithfully' for the first time in three decades with country music star Willy Nelson. The collaboration, released in May, celebrates the 40th anniversary of Farm Aid, Nelson's nonprofit that raises funds to support family farmers. Perry first joined Journey as lead singer in 1977, helping the group sell nearly 100 million albums worldwide, but he took a brief hiatus in 1987 before reuniting with the band from 1995 to 1998. Since then, his public appearances have been few and far between.

How to remember 2024-25
That Nottingham Forest and their supporters were disappointed at missing out on a place in the Champions League speaks volumes about the strides the club has taken over the past 12 months. The final whistle at the weekend brought with it a strange mix of feelings. While celebrating European football returning to the City Ground for the first time in a generation and acknowledging the efforts of a small, ultimately too-thin squad in taking the behemoths of English football all the way in the race to finish in the top five, it did feel a little flat. Being one equaliser away from the Europa League undoubtedly hurts, as does not claiming an extra couple of points somewhere along the way that would have meant Champions League football. But this season will be remembered as the best in 30 years, with some huge landmarks along the way such as being the first Premier League team ever to double their points tally year-on-year and the first Forest team ever to win at Anfield and Old Trafford in the same season. Beating Liverpool was also their first win at Anfield in 55 years. There was the huge win over Brighton, a golden glove for the excellent Matz Sels, a monumental first season in English football for player of the season Nikola Milenkovic, some remarkable goalline clearances (Murillo and Harry Toffolo spring to mind!), 20 goals for Chris Wood, a first FA Cup semi-final since 1991, and for the travelling fans, 10 away wins. For context, across their previous three seasons in the top flight, they had won nine. Not a Forest fan? Find and follow your club here All this for a team and a club widely tipped to be relegated by a number of high-profile pundits ahead of the season. Even the most optimistic Forest fan might have struggled to see a top-half finish, and now they have a European campaign to prepare for. An interesting summer lies ahead because the current squad struggled with a whole season of Premier League football. Ultimately, it was half a dozen games too thin as fatigue and injuries kicked in. As they try to develop further for next season, depth would have been needed - even without Thursday nights across Europe to consider!
