One UI 8 could make Now Brief even more useful with these additions

Joe Maring / Android Authority
TL;DR Samsung's Now Brief will reportedly receive new info cards and a new widget size in One UI 8.
Now Brief could offer parking spot reminders, smart home alerts, and battery alerts for your wearables.
These cards could join previously leaked info types like water intake reminders and custom cards.
Samsung debuted the Now Brief feature on its One UI 7 software back in January. This gives you a summary of relevant info at various times of the day, bringing to mind Google Now on old Android phones. We thought this feature left plenty of room for improvement, though, but it looks like One UI 8 will bring some welcome additions.
SammyGuru dug into a leaked One UI 8 beta (BYFB) and found that Now Brief will gain additional info card types. These new info cards are parking spot reminders, smart home alerts, and wearable battery alerts.
For starters, the parking spot reminder info card will (surprise) remember where you parked your car. A screenshot of the feature, seen below, suggests that it could somehow rely on pictures you've taken.
Meanwhile, smart home alerts in Now Brief could give you info about your smart home gadgets. Presumably, this means you can view info from these devices at the very least. As for wearable battery alerts in Now Brief, this info card will give you low battery warnings for your Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Buds.
These new info cards would go a long way towards making Now Brief a full-fledged one-stop hub for information. Samsung might not be stopping here, either. Previous leaks show that Samsung could offer water intake reminders and even let users create custom cards. That means Now Brief could grow from a curiosity to a proper powerhouse app with One UI 8.
SammyGuru also notes that the leaked One UI 8 software now features a 2×2 widget option (seen above) instead of the sole 2×1 size. Finally, the outlet says the leaked software reintroduces the Read Aloud option for Now Brief, which lets you get summaries in audio form.
In any event, all these tweaks and additions would be a major upgrade from the initial release back in January. Colleague Joe Maring felt that the original version of Now Brief was a 'glorified weather and news app.'

One UI 8 could bring some frustrating changes to audio settings

Ryan Haines / Android Authority TL;DR One UI 8 could change sound quality settings for Samsung Galaxy devices. The new interface reportedly shows different menus with and without Galaxy Buds connected to the phone. Samsung may be exploring ways to integrate options from the Galaxy Buds Manager right into system settings. Samsung's One UI 8 update is arriving soon. From Android 16's live updates to more insights in Now Brief and improved lock screen customization features, the One UI 8 beta has already given us a glimpse of some notable improvements. And then, there might be some unwelcome additions affecting a subset of users. With One UI 8, Samsung is reportedly changing how we configure the 'Sound quality and effects' settings on our Galaxy devices. SamMobile notes this interface appears differently when your phone or tablet is connected to a pair of Galaxy Buds compared to when it's not. Samsung appears to be embedding controls for the Galaxy Buds right into the system Settings instead of just limiting them to the dedicated Galaxy Buds Manager or the Galaxy Wearable apps. Therefore, with One UI 8 beta, the menu at Settings > Sound and vibration > Sound quality and effects shows controls exclusively for the earbuds when they are connected. In contrast, the same menu shows settings for the phone's speakers (or any other audio devices) when the earbuds are not connected. This essentially means that audio settings for the phone's speakers are hidden and cannot be tweaked when earbuds — and more specifically, any version of the Galaxy Buds — are connected. Among the most significant changes, the update replaces system-wide EQ settings with just those for the Galaxy Buds and Dolby Atmos settings with 360-degree audio for the Buds. Here's a comparison between the menu on One UI 8 (left) and One UI 7. Sound quality and effects settings on One UI 8 beta with Galaxy Buds connected. Settings on One UI 7. The change also eliminates the 'Custom EQ' settings for certain users, as reported on Reddit by u/dragosslash. We hope this is only a bug, as Android Authority contributor Zac Kew-Denniss confirms Custom EQ is still available with the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro connected. While one could argue that this change streamlines the audio settings on a Galaxy device running One UI 8, it could also be frustrating when multiple audio outputs are connected to the same Samsung phone. We couldn't immediately verify what happens when the speaker is chosen as the audio output while earbuds are still connected. The reported update comes just days after Samsung updated the interface for its Galaxy Buds Manager app (via X tipster Tarun Vats), grouping similar settings into sections. Got a tip? Talk to us! Prediction: This Artificial Intelligence (AI) Stock Will Outperform the Market for the Next Decade

The S&P 500's strong performance over the past few years may dampen the market's returns over the coming decade. Continued AI expenditures bode well for Nvidia's growth. Nvidia's reasonable valuation makes it a strong candidate to continue outperforming the broader market. 10 stocks we like better than Nvidia › The start of the artificial intelligence (AI) boom lifted the broader stock market out of a slump in late 2022. It's been a mostly fun ride since then, and the reality is that AI is only getting started. Experts widely believe that AI technology will create trillions of dollars in economic value over the coming decades and make new industries possible, and that likely means wealth for those who own the right stocks. Thus far, Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) has been a humongous AI winner. The stock has returned an eye-popping 956% since the start of 2023. But why stop there? I predict that Nvidia will continue to outperform the broader market (S&P 500 index) over the next decade, and it's for some straightforward reasons why. While I don't think Nvidia's stock will rise another 956% over less than three years, outperforming the market boils down to what Nvidia is likely to do versus the S&P 500. Some historical data can help paint a picture of how the popular U.S. market index might perform over the next decade. The AI-driven rally over the past few years has baked some future growth into the broader stock market, as evidenced by an increasingly higher valuation. The S&P 500 currently trades at a forward price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of just under 22. Earlier this year, Charles Schwab, using data from Bloomberg, published a report that plotted the S&P 500's 10-year performance from various starting valuations throughout history. Generally speaking, the higher the S&P 500's initial valuation, the worse the market tends to perform over the subsequent decade, and vice versa. That shouldn't be a shock; overpaying for stocks often has that effect. Many decades that began with the S&P 500 at similar valuations to its current level have produced little to no returns, and in some cases, even negative returns. That doesn't guarantee the market will do poorly over the next 10 years. For example, AI could drive higher earnings growth over the next decade. Still, at the very least, history suggests the market's expensive valuation could weigh on returns over the coming years. Now that you know what Nvidia is up against, it's time to see why the company could continue to thrive. Simply put, a generational investment cycle is underway in AI today. Companies are investing billions of dollars in data centers and other areas to develop and train more advanced AI models and utilize them on a worldwide scale. According to McKinsey & Company, data center expenditures alone could top $7 trillion by 2030. Nvidia has come to dominate the market for AI chips used in data centers, with an estimated 92% market share. Even if competitors chip away at that high market share over time, it's difficult to envision Nvidia falling off the map at this point. The company's hardware and CUDA programming platform have proven a formidable competitive moat. In the future, Nvidia will have the opportunity to participate in emerging industries that AI makes feasible, including humanoid robotics, a potentially massive opportunity that CEO Jensen Huang is already well aware of. Often, when a stock's value increases rapidly, it inflates its valuation and diminishes its future potential. That could be a concern with a stock like Palantir Technologies. But Nvidia is a rare exception. The company's revenue and earnings have mostly kept up with the stock price: Analysts estimate Nvidia will grow earnings by an average of nearly 29% annually over the long term, which is plenty of growth to justify the stock's current P/E ratio of 47. In other words, Nvidia's valuation leaves ample room for business growth to translate to investment returns. Unless Nvidia's business implodes and falls well short of expectations, there's a good chance that Nvidia produces double-digit annualized returns over the next decade, even if growth falls a little short of current long-term estimates. When you compare that to an expensive S&P 500-themed ETF and what historical data says about similar instances (lower future returns), it becomes clear that Nvidia can continue to outperform the broader market. Increasing Energy Demand and Grid Instability, Shift Toward Solar-Wind-Battery Hybrid Models

India's hybrid power market is expanding, driven by rising energy demands and grid instability, crucial in off-grid areas. Hybrid systems blend renewables with diesel/battery backups for reliability, targeting telecom, mining, and rural electrification. Solar-wind-battery models gain traction, reducing costs and enhancing sustainability. Indian Hybrid Power Solutions Market Dublin, June 27, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The "India Hybrid Power Solutions Market, By Region, Competition, Forecast & Opportunities, 2021-2031F" report has been added to India Hybrid Power Solutions Market was valued at USD 263 Million in 2025, and is expected to reach USD 365 Million by 2031, rising at a CAGR of 5.50%. Hybrid power systems integrate multiple energy sources - often combining renewable options like solar or wind with conventional sources such as diesel generators or battery storage - to enhance efficiency, reliability, and sustainability. These systems are particularly vital in remote or off-grid areas where stable electricity access is limited. By dynamically switching between or simultaneously operating different power sources, hybrid setups ensure continuous electricity availability while reducing fuel usage and operational costs. Sectors such as telecommunications, mining, marine, and rural electrification are significant adopters. As India's energy demands escalate amid rising climate concerns, hybrid power solutions are becoming an essential component of the clean energy transition, offering optimized performance and reduced environmental Market Drivers Increasing Energy Demand and Grid InstabilityIndia's booming population and industrial growth have significantly increased national energy consumption. Rapid urbanization, expanding household energy needs, and the rise of energy-intensive industries such as manufacturing and IT have placed consistent pressure on the power grid. Although grid connectivity has improved, power outages and voltage fluctuations persist, especially in rural and semi-urban power systems offer a dependable supplement to grid electricity by integrating renewables like solar and wind with diesel or battery backup. This ensures uninterrupted power for critical applications including hospitals, telecom infrastructure, and government services. These systems are adaptable, allowing customization based on energy load requirements, and are more efficient and cleaner than diesel-only setups. Government programs such as the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) are promoting rural electrification, boosting hybrid adoption in off-grid areas. As energy demands continue to surpass supply in many regions, hybrid solutions provide a strategic path to energy security, reduced operational costs, and sustainable growth, aligning with national energy Market Challenges High Initial Capital Investment and Financing BarriersThe high upfront cost of deploying hybrid power systems is a major obstacle in India. While these systems deliver long-term benefits through fuel savings and lower maintenance, the initial investment required for components like solar panels, wind turbines, inverters, batteries, and control systems is substantial. This financial burden is particularly challenging for SMEs, rural enterprises, and households with limited access to contrast to diesel generators, which are more affordable initially, hybrid systems require significant one-time expenditure. Limited access to affordable financing exacerbates the issue, with many potential users unable to secure loans due to low creditworthiness. The complexity of procurement and installation also discourages first-time adopters in less-developed government subsidies are available, awareness gaps and delayed disbursement hinder uptake. Furthermore, inconsistency between central and state policies creates additional complications. Private sector financing remains underdeveloped, as financial institutions perceive hybrid systems as risky due to their technical complexity and variable output. Consequently, loans carry high interest rates and mismatched repayment terms, creating further financing Market Trends Shift Toward Solar-Wind-Battery Hybrid ModelsA significant trend in the Indian hybrid power solutions market is the growing adoption of solar-wind-battery systems. These configurations utilize the complementary nature of solar and wind energy - solar during daylight hours and wind during night or monsoons - while batteries store excess energy to ensure round-the-clock power diverse geography supports this model well, particularly in states like Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, which benefit from both high solar irradiance and consistent wind flows. The development of integrated renewable parks that combine solar, wind, and storage infrastructure is gaining momentum, improving land utilization and reducing transmission and operational lithium-ion battery prices are accelerating this trend, making storage more viable and reducing dependence on diesel. Battery integration also enhances energy delivery stability and enables better load management, making these hybrid models increasingly attractive for both commercial and utility-scale applications.
