Jalna, Jul 29 (PTI) Reservation activist Manoj Jarange was admitted to a private hospital in Maharashtra's Jalna district on Tuesday after he complained of weakness and discomfort, a doctor at the facility said.
He was admitted to a hospital in Shahagad in the evening.
Jarange suffered from hyperacidity, vomiting, and low blood pressure, a doctor from Sakunde Hospital said.
The medical team provided necessary treatment, and his condition is now stable. He will be discharged after observation, the hospital informed.
Earlier in the day, the activist, who has undertaken several hunger strikes demanding a reservation for the Maratha community, warned of a fresh agitation on August 29. PTI COR ARU

'I launched the initiative to coincide with Masturbation Month, but we decided to make 'masturbation break' a permanent company policy that we enforce until this day," her blog post reads as per the Free Press Journal. Meanwhile, LADbible states that the company also teamed up with German sex toy brand Fun Factory in 2022 to provide staff with a free sex toy of their choice. Interestingly, a survey done the same year by Chemist4U showed that 14 per cent of people admitted to masturbating during work hours. Punjab Health Minister issues strict directives for uninterrupted oxygen supply in all critical care units
Presiding over a high-level meeting with civil surgeons from all districts, Balbir Singh emphasised the need for 24×7 oxygen availability, functional UPS systems and fully operational generator sets to prevent any disruption in life-saving medical services. The directives came in the wake of the death of three patients at the civil hospital in Jalandhar on Sunday, with the kin of the deceased blaming a technical fault in the oxygen supply at the trauma centre for the deaths. Chandigarh, Jul 29 (PTI) Punjab's Health Minister Balbir Singh on Tuesday issued strict directives to ensure uninterrupted oxygen supply and power backup in all critical care units, including ICUs, Operation Theatres (OTs) and emergency wards across all government health facilities in the state. Balbir Singh said that approximately one thousand new doctors will be joining in the coming months, as the recruitment process is near completion, which will considerably improve the quality of health services. The Health Minister also issued stringent directives regarding medicine supply, instructing civil surgeons to maintain at least one month's buffer stock of all 368 types of essential medicines and warned against any shortage of essential medicines. 'No patient should be prescribed any medicines from outside the hospital,' he said, while reiterating that the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led government's commitment to ensure free and accessible healthcare. He said that Senior Medical Officers (SMOs) have been empowered to purchase any non-essential medicine as per their requirement, warning that strict disciplinary action would be taken against any non-complying medical officer. To bolster the medicine dispensing system and overall patient experience, civil surgeons and SMOs were also directed to visit OPDs daily and collect patient feedback. To further enhance patient satisfaction, Balbir Singh directed civil surgeons to ensure that Outpatient Department (OPD) services are delivered within an hour of registration. In another move to enhance critical care capabilities, the minister announced that every doctor and paramedic, including staff nurses, will undergo training in critical care and advanced life support. He also tasked each civil surgeon to submit their district's health status in comparison to the Millennium Development Goals, enabling the department to set targets for better progress. Dope test for Chitta mandatory in HP police hiring
Agency: Shimla, July 29 (PTI) A doping test for 'Chitta' will now be mandatory during police recruitment in Himachal Pradesh and newly recruited government employees will be required to submit an undertaking stating they do not consume the synthetic drug, officials said on Tuesday. The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting held here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, officials said. During the meeting, police, social justice and empowerment and health departments gave detailed presentations on the measures being taken to combat drug abuse in the state. The chief minister said strict action would be taken against any government employee found involved in drug-related activities. 'The state government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards the drug menace and is fully committed to protecting the youth from falling victim to drug abuse," Sukhu said. He underlined the need for coordinated efforts to dismantle drug networks. According to a statement issued here, Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) cases in Himachal Pradesh constitute nine per cent of total cases, significantly lower than Punjab's 20 per cent. The health department has been asked to strengthen efforts related to capacity building, awareness generation, treatment, counselling, follow-up and rehabilitation of persons affected by substance abuse. Integrated Rehabilitation Centres (IRCs) have been set up in Kullu, Hamirpur, Nurpur and Una and a new project with an outlay of Rs 14.95 crore will be implemented to establish similar centres at all district headquarters under the state action plan of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment. The chief minister also directed Mahila Mandals, Yuvak Mandals, Panchayati Raj Institutions, civil society organisations and the education department to participate actively in spreading awareness about the ill-effects of drug abuse. He stressed the need for a coordinated approach among departments to combat substance abuse and also called for regular interstate border monitoring to prevent drug trafficking.
