Ahaan Panday's Shot In Saiyaara Had The Crew Clapping, Says Co-Star: 'He Was Nervous But…'
Rajesh Kumar praises newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's dedication, sharing on-set moments and what makes Saiyaara click.
Rajesh Kumar, known for playing Roshesh in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, had a front‑row seat to the rise of newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda as Saiyaara stormed the box office. Within just five days, the Mohit Suri directorial pulled in over Rs 132 crore in India, including Rs 24 crore on Monday and Rs 25 crore on Tuesday. It even overshadowed some big-budget films by Akshay, Salman and Aamir Khan — a rare feat for a star-kid‑led project, especially when audiences usually criticise nepotism.
Rajesh revealed what impressed him off-camera. 'I told both Aneet and Ahaan that make me meet your parents. I just went and thanked them for bringing them up so well and that is what is reflecting on screen. They are not corrupted. Having said that, there is a long way for them to go."
He remembered Ahaan's early nerves. Their first scene together was simple — Ahaan handing him a bag — yet Rajesh saw talent shine through. 'Ahaan was so nervous before his first shot. We shot that together. […] But, he did it so well in just the third take. After the shot ended, people clapped for him and then he felt relaxed," he recalled.
Behind the scenes, Rajesh thinks it is Mohit Suri's vision and the young cast's belief sealed the deal. 'Mohit would wait until he got the shot he had visualised. Everytime, we took a shot for over four times, Ahaan would walk forward and apologise. He didn't have a 'give up' attitude. This film was all about trust. This film was all about YRF believing in Mohit Suri. And Mohit Suri believes in this new couple and the supporting cast. We never thought it would be a blockbuster."
Rajesh's also opened up on his favourite moment from the film. It is Ahaan's entrance into the concert shot. 'My most favourite scene is when Ahaan walks into the concert. I was fida on it. The shot was crazy." He called it a turning point — both in the film and for the performers growing before his eyes.

Tahir Raj Bhasin On Being In Special Ops 2: 'Felt Like New Boy In School, Everyone Knew Each Other'
Bhasin said it is challenging to join a popular show in its second season. Actor Tahir Raj Bhasin says he felt like the new boy in school, but everyone welcomed him warmly on the sets of Neeraj Pandey's 'Special Ops 2", which features the actor in the role of an antagonist. Bhasin broke out with the Rani Mukerji-starrer 'Mardaani" in 2014, where he played a negative role. His other notable ventures include 'Chhichhore" and 'Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein", and '83". The actor described his role of 'Collector' in 'Special Ops 2" as someone who is 'part gangster, part tech tycoon". 'It's been about 10 years since I played an antagonist. What I really enjoy about the 'Collector' in 'Special Ops 2' is that he is a rebel with a cause," Bhasin told PTI in an interview. In the second season of the show, Kay Kay Menon's Himmat Singh is tackling cyber terrorism as an AI scientist is abducted from a tech summit in the show, which was released on JioHotstar on July 18. The show also features Karan Tacker, Vinay Pathak and Muzammil Ibrahim. Bhasin said it is challenging to join a popular show in its second season. 'I felt like the new boy in school, where everyone else knew each other, but the rest of the ensemble were very warm and welcoming. Karan, in particular, was very friendly. I spent time with Kay Kay Menon off set and it was like meeting a senior from college because you know someone who has been in Bombay so much longer than you, just knows what life is about a little more," he said. 'Every conversation I would have with Kay Kay was very enlightening… What I see in Kay Kay's work is that he is always truthful and authentic to what the part is, he's not judging the character, and that's something that I hope to take forward in my work as well," he added. Which is why going head-to-head with Menon in the show felt like a big compliment for the actor. 'I gravitate towards lead parts that are disruptive… As the show unravels, you discover why he operates in certain ways, and there is an element of mystique to his character, but in his mind, he is a sort of reformer. One of the lines that has really stuck with the audience is 'I am also in the business of cyber security, just on a different side'." Bhasin said unlike conventional antagonists, his character relies completely on brains. 'If the show had been released 10-15 years ago, it would have seemed like science fiction, but in the recent past we have seen so many cyber attacks and financial attacks happen that it's all too real," he said. The actor is currently shooting for a Netflix show alongside Parineeti Chopra, which is directed by Renzil D'Silva. (Screenshot from Farah Khan's YouTube) Spanning over 3,370 square feet with an additional 2,654-square-foot basement, the villa boasts a swimming pool, a garden, a parking space for four cars, and expansive floors — including a 1,245 sq ft ground level, 1,011 sq ft first floor, and a 1,112 sq ft terrace. According to GQ India, the rental agreement for the villa was registered on February 25, 2025, with a whopping Rs 30 lakh security deposit and a five-year tenure starting from March 20. Hindustan Times adds that the agreement includes a 48-month lock-in period and a 10% rent hike after the first 36 months — a monthly rental figure so steep, it could rival the yearly income of many Indian engineers.
