Online auction platform Bring a Trailer recorded $1.5 billion in vehicle sales in 2024, defying a broader market slowdown in classic car prices. The milestone comes as traditional values for collector cars struggled to keep pace, yet the site's diverse offerings and massive bidder pool maintained strong momentum.
The platform hosted 45,000 auctions last year, spanning not only vintage and modern cars but also trucks, motorcycles, parts, and memorabilia. A record 1.3 million users placed bids, underscoring the site's growing popularity among enthusiasts and collectors alike.
Among the standout sales in 2024 was a 2022 Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, which fetched $4.1 million—Bring a Trailer's highest single transaction of the year. The sale highlighted the site's ability to attract high-end inventory even as other segments of the collector car market softened.
Bring a Trailer CEO, who confirmed the $1.5 billion in annual sales, noted that the platform's success stems from its broad range of vehicles, active community engagement, and the simplicity of its auction process. 'We're proving that, even in a challenging market, there's demand for quality cars and transparent transactions,' he said.
Classic car price indexes showed declines across several key segments last year, reflecting shifts in collector demographics and economic pressures. Yet Bring a Trailer's performance shows that a digital-first approach combined with a strong community focus can overcome broader market headwinds.
Looking ahead, the company expects its hybrid model—blending traditional collector car auctions with digital convenience—to continue gaining traction as a preferred marketplace for buyers and sellers. With over $1.5 billion in sales last year and a track record of consistent growth, Bring a Trailer's impact on the classic car market remains unmatched.

This 2007 Porsche Cayman S on Bring a Trailer Could Bring 911 Money
This early Cayman S has low mileage and lots of options. It's got a six-speed manual but also plenty of luxury items. Tasteful aftermarket touches are the icing on this mid-engine cake. In 2005, Porsche decided it would be a good idea to put a lid on the Boxster, and created a simply delightful little sports car in the process: the Cayman. The Boxster was already great, and turning it into a mid-engine coupe freed up some surprising liftback practicality and arguably added a little more style. Certainly such is the case if you pick the right paint color and options, and that's just what we have here. Bring a Trailer This 2007 Cayman S had virtually every box ticked, and it's up for auction on Bring a Trailer (which, like Car and Driver, is part of Hearst Autos). It's a six-speed manual, and it's finished in sumptuous Forest Green over a tan interior filled with tasteful wood veneer. It has the fairly rare option of Porsche Active Stability Management (PASM), not something you'd be surprised to find in a 911 Carrera S, but unusual for a Cayman. With just 26K miles on the odometer, it's seen light use and appears to be in superior condition. Bring a Trailer In 2007, this car stickered for more than $80,000, or about $125K today. Fully one-quarter of that price was in optional extras, from the Sport Chrono dash-mounted stopwatch to automatic climate control, to navigation, to leather sun visors. The 18-inch wheels are from Gold Motorsport, and they are the crowning touch on a very elegant little sport coupe. Factory wheels are included in the sale. Bring a Trailer When new, the 3.4-liter flat-six was good for 295 horsepower and 251 pound-feet of torque. Porsche always made sure the 911 put out better numbers, but for mid-engine balance a Cayman offers a wonderful experience. Having a proper clutch pedal and stick shift just makes it that much more rewarding, and PASM adds a little behind-the-scenes magic to the handling. Bring a Trailer The Boxster and the Cayman still live in the 911's shadow somewhat, but the right one can be just as fantastic as its big brother. The original owner of this example dug deep to get the specifications just right, and got all the details perfect—and bidders have responded enthusiastically. The auction ends on June 6. Spohn DV-13 Convertible on Bring a Trailer: You're Not Likely To See Another
This coachbuilt custom car hails from Germany and is fitted with a Cadillac V-8. Would you believe, only a handful were built? It's the concours winner nobody was expecting. The Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance features awards in several categories, including engineering excellence, historical significance, and special mentions. It also has an award for "most audacious exterior." The car pictured here is the 2013 award winner, and audacious doesn't even begin to cover it. This is a 1957 Spohn DV-13, and the customized roadster is up for auction on Bring a Trailer (which, like Car and Driver, is part of Hearst Autos). Bring a Trailer The Spohn is the offspring of a German coachbuilder with a long tradition of clothing the finest cars in the world in gorgeous design. Before WWII, Spohn bodywork was worn by Maybachs and Mercedes-Benzes. In the postwar period, it, uh, got a little more creative. Okay, let's stop beating around the bush: This car looks like what Powell Motors would have built as the sporty followup version of The Homer car from The Simpsons. It is an acquired taste, like sea urchin or accordion solos, and on first glance looks supremely goofy. Remember the part in The Fly when Jeff Goldblum gets his DNA crossed with a housefly while experimenting with teleportation? This is like that, except it's a 1949 Cadillac and a Daimler SP250 having a transporter malfunction.
