Iconic BBC presenter leaves job at Premier League after nine years and posts emotional message
FAN favourite football presenter Manish Bhasin has announced he is leaving his job at the Premier League after nine years.
Bhasin, 49, has been on fans' screens for over two decades and is known by many as the face of the BBC 's defunct Football League Show.

But for the last nine years he has fronted up matchday coverage of Premier League action for Premier League Productions - the league's official broadcast outlet.
Bhasin was the host of their official global match coverage, popping up on televisions across the globe as he chatted about the Prem's biggest fixtures.
But the Leicester-born presenter and journalist has now revealed he is ready for a new chapter in an emotional statement announcing his exit.
He wrote on X: "After 9 years of hosting for the Premier League official global match coverage, sadly the time has come to move on.
"I've loved every second. A big thanks to the production team and the on-screen pundits who made the job so enjoyable.
"Time now to write the next chapter…"
Bhasin is one of many familiar faces that are leaving their roles this summer as the landscape of football coverage is set for a shakeup ahead of the new season.
Included in that mass change is the likes of Melissa Reddy, Jeremy Langdon and the experienced Rob Wotton.
Meanwhile Gary Lineker presented his final Match of the Day after 26 years in the hot-seat after revealing his exit from the BBC last month.
However, Lineker won't be stepping away from football highlights completely.
It was announced today that his podcast The Rest Is Football, which he co-hosts alongside Alan Shearer and Micah Richards, will be showing highlights of the upcoming Fifa Club World Cup.

And Wiegman, defending her straight-shooter style, said: 'It's sad they are not in the team but at the same time it gives the opportunity for other players to be in the team. 'I'll always cherish what we have had, it's been a long period of time. It's been an incredible journey, lots of highs, and a couple of lows, it's part of football and part of life. I'll never forget that. At this moment, this situation, we've moved on and this is the squad we have now. I'm very happy with the squad.' Lauren James, sidelined by a hamstring injury since early April, has been named in the squad along with midfielder Georgia Stanway, the Bayern Munich star who has just returned from knee surgery. Wiegman said it was 'not a risk' to select James, who has already returned to training at Chelsea and will link up with the squad on June 16. She could be fit enough to feature in the send-off friendly against Jamaica in Leicester on June 29. Teenage Arsenal forward Michelle Agyemang, who scored on debut against Belgium in April, is included too, with Wiegman adding: "She brings something different. We're really strong up front. What she's shown is so much physicality.' England begin their title defence against France on July 5, take on the Netherlands on July 9 and finish Group D against Wales on July 13. Former Man United star BANNED for taping over pride badge as he refused to endorse anti-homophobia campaign
Former Manchester United star Nemanja Matic has received a ban in France after taping over a LGBTQ + logo during a match. Matic, who now plays for Lyon, has been hit with a two-game ban after covering the rainbow-coloured Ligue 1 logo on his shirt against Angers on the final day of the season. Ligue 1 runs an annual anti-homophobia campaign which asks players to wear the imagery and sees banners display in stadiums. Another player, Le Havre midfielder Ahmed Hassan, has received the same banafter covering his logo. However, Nantes striker Mostafa Mohamed has not been punished after refusing to take part in the final match of the season. Matic is believed to be an adherent of the Serbian Orthodox Christian church while Mohamed and Hassan are Muslim. Matic and Hassan have also been asked to take part in an awareness campaign about homophobia in football, as per HLN. France's sports minister Marie Barsacq said: 'Football has a huge platform and the federation wants to bring this issue to the attention of clubs and supporters. 'Homophobic insults and behavior are no longer acceptable. Society has developed and football must follow suit.' Ligue 1's initiative, which has now seen five editions, has seen a stir annually with players refusing to take part, typically for reasons of faith.

Brydon Carse: I wanted toe amputated, but doctors said I need it to balance
Brydon Carse, the England all-rounder, says he became so frustrated with a persistent toe injury that he contemplated having it amputated. One of England's success stories of the winter, the Durham fast bowler was ruled out after the first game of the Champions Trophy in February, having attempted to manage an injury to the second toe on his left foot for several months of a breakthrough period. He was back in action in a County Championship match for Durham last month, followed by a return to international cricket in the three-match one-day series against West Indies, but he spoke on Thursday of just how big an issue the injury to the toe on his landing foot had become. 'It ended up being quite a severe wound, which I was playing with for the majority of the winter,' Carse, 29, said. 'The wound became infected a couple of times and for a period of about six to eight weeks I was on three or four different courses of antibiotics. Eventually the wound was so deep that it ultimately needed a period of time just to heal and close up.'
